Ok so on another topic, has anyone every used a band? I love live singing, but am iffy about hiring one or if a good one is even available to us? Also how much difference is there in the the cost of flowers depending on how many flower arrangements one has? I love flowers so if i could have them everywhere like on the aisle runner, on tables, on chuppa, etc etc i'd love that

Hi Kya, So I'm still a slight bit disappointed as well but as my FI told me, we don't know maybe the new coordinators will be even better than kelley, who knows what their background is. Or maybe it's not as extensive as Kelley but I feel pretty confident that Kelley as well as the owners know they need coordinators as good or even better than Kelley. They know we have high expectations and that we talk on forums. Las Caletas has become so popular due to all the rave reviews so they know they need to keep that reputation up. With that said , my FI also has not found his outfit, I know he will probably wait until 3 weeks before wedding if he can ( definitely against my will!!), and he wont let me pick out his outfit with him!!!! he says just like me and my dress he wants it be a surprise!!! can u imagine lol , we also are trying to figure out what groomsmen should wear, (we kind of have an idea of what pants to wear , but cant find the right shirt/guayvera) , and of course he procastinates with telling them what they need to buy . I refuse to stress. So breathe easy , everything will be wonderful i'm sure.

wow....in shock...no emotions just yet , location and wedding coordinator reviews was all I based my location pick on!!! Ok maybe I am slighty freakin out. Ok I want to be positive. I actually used to work in a wedding locale a few years back, I remember that all coordinators were great as long as they were trained a certain way . Kelley and the owner must know all of our high expectations so I don't doubt the two new coordinators will do just that, try to fill in Kelley's shoes. I'd love to know asap who these two coordinators are so that we can all communicate and build a rapport with them prior to our wedding days. Ok laides lets not freak out....at least we're not having a crisis like the Dreams locations....sorry to say but they change coordinator like changing underwear...and the majority of brides still end up having a great wedding. So let's look at the positives: Kelley is training them, they will be trained just great for the december and onward weddings..... Ok ladies ...

Also we just recieved our wedding bands with engravings they are so beautiful!!!! They are engraved with "Eternally Yours (my initials in his and his initals in mine) 1-14-12" Ahh so excited about it...although we measured our ring sizes before hand we've decided not to try them on now until wedding day...supposedly bad luck?? I dunno if this is true. i've also added two more bridesmaids....now have 7 and my FI has 3 groomsmen....It no longer matters to me if some will be walking alone...All I know is I want each of those ladies on my special day to be included in my pics . I really like how my planning is going so far. I feel that I have spaced each thing out and am not doing everything all at once , so I don't feel overwhelmed. i kind of know what needs to be done each month as it comes and I just do it then when the time comes. Also I've taken the mentality that this is going to be one incredible vacation amongst close family and friends and my wedding will also be shared with them. I am looking forward to my vacation now equally as I look forward to my wedding. Looking at January this way has really helped me not stress over wedding for months now Ok ladies would love to hear everyone else's planning.

Sent out my invites 2 weeks ago, have 16 guests booked plus me and FI, just had my bridal shower, was very lovely My RSVP isn;t until sept. 26th so I plan on working my OOT bags after I know exact number of guests or at least a roundabout....but we kind of expect around 30 guests.

Don't know how many guests I will have as of yet for my jan 2012 wedding, but so far only have 12guests booked. I am thinking maybe 25 guests will attend. But to comment on what you wrote, trust me the most important person to see your dress is your husband. At least I feel this way, I can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees me.

Thanks Kya, i originally wanted passports too from the beginning but I sent out such a detailed STD back in january I didn't want to keep repeating my self so went with the boarding passes instead. I know both passports and boarding passes are such unique invitations I will say after this wedding I will be so tired of postage , it adds up quick!!! 64 cents per invite and 29 cents per postcard (thank goodness I saved here, my postcards are slightly smaller than an average postcard so you save on stampage)

lastly a good friend of ours just gave us an engagement session as our wedding gift, he is so good Gerald Anovert and works for extremely reasonable prices. He only does engagement sessions. In case you are wondering our RSVP's are postcards, on one side it is a vintage looking map of mexico on the reverse side is the response. I loved this detail. Thought it was so neat . Like I said , anything you describe to Thao, she will create it!!

Hi ladies so I just recieved my boarding pass invites and could not be happier with them. They were made by Thao Tran from Memoriesoftoday.com . She had them done in the time she told me they would be done, and I advise all brides to start looking into invites at least 3 months before you actually want to mail them out. I did not know having boarding passes and passport invites done would take so long!! Thao had them done in 2 months and for a very reasonable price. To be honest she did not even have my design, she has not done envelopes and boardin passes sleeves in this cappacino color before and yet I described everything I wanted to her in one email, one conversation and she created it better than I could even imagine !!! here are some pics:

OMG I love it!!!!! i was debating on having both of my parents walk me dwon the aisle , but decided to have just my dad. My mother is everything to me and I just couldnt figure out how to honor her. As well as for my fiance's mom she is so important not only to him but to me, I know everyone will be suprised and see something so unique. thank u ladies for sharing!

Hi asiamarie , no problem it's made by Liz fields number 360 in hot pink. I had such a hard time finding the dress for bridesmaids . They actually make this dress in two tone if your interested in that . So you could put hot pink and tangerine together . I had it made solid color . Originally I wanted an orange dress but hot pink just looked so good on all my girls skintones so hot pink it was . Good luck

I think for the states with big cities like mine NY , Cali, Chicago, etc., etc. , having a wedding here is insane. Like I said my best friend is having a central park wedding and she is over 80,000 at this point for about 150-175 guests. Another girlfriend of mine just spent 10,000 on flowers, flowers alone!!! Her wedding is about 65,000. I knew way back before I even met my fiance I just can't even imagine paying that much. The crazy thing is after the wedding 3 out 4 couples who have these huge weddings either don't have a place to live !! They can't afford it!!! I just can't do it lol

Woohooo on cake though I still can't imagine not having one thats one thing I can't cut out of wedding , I do remember one bride having cake boxes for everyone to take a piece home with them . we plan on using our AI lobby bar for "welcome drinks". It is extra in the AI to host a welcome dinner and going out to town seems like a hassle and waste of money when everyone is paying for the AI food. So as much as I wouldve liked it, it's just out of the budget and doesnt make sense if you stay at an AI.

Well I love this thread as I had a similar problem but with my brother and his family. He made me feel guilty saying "weddings are supposed to have all your family and since I can't be there you don't care about family". His reasons were finicially which I knew from the start and offered and even budgeted into my costs before we got engaged (as we always knew we wanted a destination wedding) to pay for his whole family . Problem was he has too much pride to actually accept the money. So he and his children are not attending. I was kind of sad about this for the first month after he told me but because he is being an a-hole to me and my FI and even doesnt want to talk to us because we having a destination wedding, I just decided to say "screw it, I am not changing the wedding of my dreams especially if he is being so mean to me" . Girls from so much stress I even lost a small patch of hair and had a acne breakout like I was 15 yrs old!! After that I decided to calm down and just let it go. I dont resent that he does not want to attend , so my advice to you is not to resent you parents either. Just explain to them how this is your dream wedding and how important it is to you for them to be there. If they still don't change their mind, then screw it, go on with what makes you happiest.
