    Congrats on deciding on a destination wedding. We too decided to have a destination wedding because of prices here. We choose the Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica to have our December 2012 wedding. My first choice was Secrets and then Sandals but both were adults only and I have a sister who is 8. Secrets does amazing weddings and Sandals does the Martha Stewart weddings. Both are beautiful. After a lot of research on here and comparing prices between the ROR, Grand Bahia, and Iberostar I decided on ROR. If you have questions for me about these resorts please let me know. Happy planning

    We are having our wedding at the ROR in Decemeber 2012 and we are bringing our own photographer. The wedding coordinator said that was fine and there was no vendor fee as they are staying at the resort. I think local photographers may get hassled as the resort knows them but someone with your party for the week should have no problem. They are a paying guest.

    We originally wanted to find a coloured candle but we had trouble finding one that big that was a floating candle. I my sample I used a real orchid but I might use a fake on for the wedding. The stones are dark purple which it is hard to tell from the picture. For the wedding I want to do black stones, red orchid, and white candle. I got tonnes of compliments when I did this one and it was so easy to put together.

    Hey Girls one thing I would watch for is the vendors fee. We are using TAI floral and that is the florist our hotel ROR uses. If we used a different photographer we would have had to pay the $200 vendors fee. Not sure if all hotels are like this but I would definitely look into this.

    Our centrepieces are very similar. I sampled them at our engagement party. Our vase is taller. Very nice and simple to put together which is why I loved them too

    Your message in a bottle save the dates are breath taking. I wish I was creative and had done something like that. I sent postcards that my fiancee made in photoshop.

    We are bringing our photographer from home. He will be shooting 10 hrs the day of the wedding as I want pics from getting ready at 1pm until our beach reception is over at 11pm. He is also shooting the welcome dinner and two other 2 hours sessions for us during the week.

    We budgeted around $10,000 for our wedding and we are thinking it will be about $8000 once we are done. Our trips are free except for tax as we have a large group coming.

    My FI wants a tungsten ring and we will definitely order from here. Their rings are much cheaper than a jewlery store. Glad to here so many had positive experiences with them.

    I agree with JayKay...you have to do what you want...it is your wedding. The bridesmaids need to realize that being in a wedding is expensive. I was just in a wedding here that cost me almost $3000 and I did not get a trip. If you can help with the dress I would if not I would explain that this is the dress that you really want. Good luck

    This is my dress...Maggie Sottero Adorae. I actually had my heart set on Ambrosia but it was just to heavy for the beach. I tried this on just for fun and feel in love with it.

    I was really set on wearing a veil but I have heard from a lot of brides that got married on the beach that it was really windy. I am worried about battling with the veil during the ceremony and pics. I am bringing on but planning on wearing flowers in my hair.

    I love all these hair styles....I really like the idea of half up and half down with a loose ponytail on the side.....carrie underwood is my inspiration
