  1. Annie - Thanks so much. I actually started my review on cc since I am on that site more due to my love of cruising, but I haven't finished because I went away again and just got back. Check it out when you get a chance.
  2. Thanks for all your feedback ladies... If your not sure if you should do the OOT bags or not but can afford it, I say GO FOR IT!!
  3. Hi Annie - Originally we weren't going to do the OOT bags since it was an 'added' cost, and the favors we just weren't sure what we wanted to give. As you can see we decided to them and I am happy we did. Guest were surprised and also said how much they liked them.
  4. We kept 'all' non wedding activities to 'come if you wish'. However, our guest all opted to hang with us at various times throughout the cruise. One of the things that guest seem to really enjoy was dinner together at the end of each day. It gave us an opportunity to talk about what we did during the day, especially if someone didn't do things with anyone in the group. Since the majority of our guest had never cruised before I think that is why we were also successful at having such large outings in each port that we docked. I wouldn't change a thing!
  5. We are married now! NCL did a fantastic job!
  6. We were married last week on the Norwegian Jewel. LOVED it!!
  7. Our embarkment day wedding was WONDERFUL! We just got back on Saturday.
  8. Hey! We're back from our wedding cruise on the Norwegian Jewel 7/30/11, and it was wonderful! I haven't done a review yet or posted pics but if you hit me up with a private message I can give you more info and share some pics.
  9. We were married on an NCL ship, Norwegian Jewel and it was an excellent wedding. Only one flaw, but it was something we could live with. The ship's photographer was 30 minutes late. It cut our reception short by 1/2 hour and all we got was 20% off for our photos to make up for it. Again, the good out weighed the bad and I'd do it all over again!
  10. We just finished putting ours together. We did it over time and were finally satisfied that eough was enough. This stuff really does add up, and thankfully we only have 12 sailing guest! lol OOT Bag - 1 per cabin OOT Bag - 1 for each sailing guest Cabin Key Card Holder
  11. Not yet, but in 33 days we will be getting married on the Norwegian Jewel. I have had no luck finding NCL wedding photos but I will share mine for sure! Keep in touch.
  12. Oh wow! What's your July wedding date? Are you getting married on the ship? How is the planning coming along?
  13. I haven't seen much on this forum when it comes to cruise ship wedding planning. The bulk of the information is on cruise critic in their honeymoon & wedding forum. However, some of the stuff that people are doing for their more tradional weddings on here can be done for a cruise ship wedding. You just have to confirm with your cruise line what they will and won't allow.
  14. Unfortunately, the cruise line picks what location you will have for your ceremony and reception. They will let you know 2-3 weeks before the wedding what they've chosen for you. If they only have your wedding that day, then they may let you choose depending on what is in your wedding reception package (ie: dj, piano player, etc..)
  15. It seems like there are actually more cruise brides on CC then here so I frequent the Honeymoon & Wedding Cruise thread on CC. I haven't found a lot on either sits though about getting married on a Norwegian ship as it seems most brides tend to go with Carnival. I do understand why though...they are the least expensive! We almost booked a RCCL ship to Bermuda for our wedding as well, but then we decided we did not want to sail from NJ being that most of our guest are from NYC.
  16. I do understand you on this. It's like you want your guest to know you have prepared for them to have fun, after all they are spending hundreds of dollars to cruise with you. However, at the same time you don't want to give them activities overload and take over their vacation completely. What ever activities we settle on we are going to make it clear that it is 'optional'. The only thing mandatory would be to join us for the thank you dinner we will be providing in one of the speciality restaurants.
  17. Your welcome. Good luck with your wedding plans. Be sure to check out http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31 . This is where the most cruise wedding information exist
  18. Your wedding is just that YOUR wedding. For months we were trying to design a wedding to suit the needs of so many people that we started to lose 'us'.Then one day we realized that we should be having a wedding that we want and by doing so we decided to do a cruise wedding. After all it is our favorite way to travel when we can afford to do so. We realized that a lot of people would not be able to attend because most people that we know barely have money to survive let alone travel. This gave us the idea to do the embarkment day wedding in that way even those who could not travel could still be there on the big day. Although having a beach wedding would have been the ultimate there were two things that stopped us. One many island destinations will not do same-sex weddings and also, just the fact that if for some reason the cruise did not stop at our port where the wedding would take place, we would be so upset and stressed.
  19. We are going to invite everyone to one of the speciality restaurants on us, as a 'thank you' for cruising with us.The cheapest is $10 per person on our ship which is Tex-Mex and we love that cuisine so it works for us. Our sailing guest list is small at a total of 9 including us.
  20. A weekend in cruise goes so FAST!!!! I would do the 7 day because your on a ship with thousands of others and you don't have to see your guest if you don't want to. You can plan your own excursions, onboard activities and dinner times WITH or WITHOUT your guest. A longer cruise gives you so much more to see & do. We have done a 3 day & a 4 day cruise just us and we wanted MORE MORE MORE. Our wedding cruise will be our longest at 7 days and we have invited guest to come along. We are planning some group activities and alone time activities. We are also giving guest all their options so they will have things to choose from. Most of our guest have never cruised before so we wanted to help them in that way.
  21. Glad to see I'm not the only one still here. Congrats! So far we haven't really dealt with our cruise consultant. We are so far out I feel like there is nothing to really do! lol
  22. Congrats!! We are doing NCL Jewel out of our home port so that non sailing guest can also attend. So far no one has booked but us out of the 62 we invited. Sooooo... we'll see how it plays out.
  23. When you first get off the ship in Nassau most of what you'll see are building. These house stores and restaurants. As you walk further inland you will come across court buildings , churches, museums, a library and a few monuments. You will need to grab the jitney (a mini bus) or a cab to take you to several beaches in the area if you are looking for that kind of scenery. This is the first thing you seen when docking into Nassau. This sign is near the ship as soon as you get off. Entering Nassau right off the ship. These below are a few block inland, but I don't remember what each place was. We never made it to the beach because a rain storm came through.
  24. We've done both Carnival & Royal Caribbean. Although I constantly read that people like RCCL better, we both enjoyed our Carnival cruise so much more. Of course they say Carnival is the 'party' boat, but we both aren't into partying and yet we still preferred Carnival. Our wedding cruise will be on Norwegian Jewel and this will be our first NCCL. Â Even though we enjoyed our first Carnival cruise more than our RCCL cruise, I truly believe that we will never have a favorite cruise line. If anything we will probably have a favorite cruise 'ship' since each line probably has both good & bad. Â One day we plan to cruise Carnival Glory as it leaves out if NYC to Canada as well. Â ~Happy Wedding Planning~
