  1. Hi Sarah... Â I haven't gotten married on that ship but, if you have never been on that ship I believe you will LOVE it! My very first cruise was with the Carnival Imagination (Mexico) and it made me fall in love with cruising. We actually cruised it in 2004 before it was updated so I know it is probably even more fabulous! Â We are getting married on NCL Jewel. This forum is pretty quiet but hopefully you will find some answers to your questions here. Another cool place to check out for cruise wedding info is cruisecritics.com... (http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31). Â Happy wedding planning!
  2. We invited 66 people, and so far only 3 have said they are cruising, 7 have said they are not sailing and the rest haven't responded either way. We are not getting married until next July so there is still time but I think most people won't cruise, and I won't believe the ones who said they are until they make at least the initial deposit. I just know the 4 of us will be there! (me, my fiance and our two kids)
  3. We haven't gotten this far in the process but what you have sounds good to me. I'd probably just use what's below. It's very clear and to the point, which I am. lol  ______ sailing guest ______ non sailing guest ______ will not be attending
  4. There are three that are constantly being raved about on cruise critic forums. They say they are the best and all have a park & cruise package as well as a shuttle to the port:  Radisson Resort at the Port, Residance Inn, or Country Inn and Suites    Â
  5. We took our very 1st cruise with Carnival (Imagination) and was HOOKED!! Although it was an older ship we truly enjoyed being on her and enjoying all that Carnival had to offer. Our 2nd cruise was with Royal Caribbean (Majesty of the Seas). Another older ship, when some decent activities but for us it was not as fun as our Carnival cruise. The ship was small in comparison and didn't seem to have as much to do on it. Both trips were short and we did our own excursions at each port which was money saving and fun nonetheless. Â Between the two Carnival was our favorite, but I really believe it depends on the ship & not so much whether is CCL or RCL. Bigger ships and longer itineraries is what usually makes the trip even more enjoyable. Â Next July we will be doing Norwegian (Jewel) for the first time so I'm looking forward to trying the 3rd of the top 3 biggest cruise lines. This cruise will be somewhat different as we are also getting married on this ship, we may be cruising with guest who have decided to cruise and the cruise will be our longest at 7 days.
  6. Yeah!!!! Â Can't wait to read the details!
  7. Awwwww....congrats!! Your pictures are beautiful. I hope your wedding was just as great.
  8. That is a great suggestion! Â We had already booked ours before changing to a DW, so we are stuck since we gave a deposit. We will still be using him since we have to have two wedding days. So we will use him for the legal ceremony in CT which will be a few days before the DW wedding.
  9. I actually saw your review on my 1st day on this site which was just the other day. You guys look like you had a great time. On our very first cruise we went to Cozumel and also did Paradise Beach. Loved it!! Â Thanks for sharing your review.
  10. Â Wow! Excitement is in the air. I can't wait to hear your details. Have a great time.
  11. We are planning our cruise wedding on embarkment day. I've heard that this can be a rushed situation because you have to get to the ship hours before your wedding takes place. At the same time, I've heard this is the best way to include your non-sailing guest. That is the #1 reason we are doing ours this way. At any rate, I would like to hear from those who have done embarkment day weddings, as well as anyone else who had their wedding on the ship. What was YOUR experience?
  12. hzak1203 ::: Thank YOU! I just got the booking info from my TA today and when the better half gets home & we go through it all we will probably be booking by the end of the week. I've actually been a member of cruise critics since 04' and they are awesome. I haven't hit their wedding forum yet but it's my next stop!
  13. Since we have two sea days before disembarking, I am thinking it would be a great idea to have a group activity on the first of those two sea days. Something for us, and also for the teens that will be with us. I'm looking forward to planning it when I decide what it will be!
  14. I would love to hear how everyone's wedding went! I'm a new NCL bride.
  15. We have decided to get married on NCL Jewel July 2011. It was a choice between NCL & RCCL since Carnival does not do same-sex weddings. At any rate, I am SUPER excited, new here and would like to hear from NCL brides (past, present and future). Share your experiences, good and bad and any advice you'd like to give. Hope to hear from ya'll!! ~dai (I'm on the right in the picture)
  16. Congratulations!! Your details are help to all of us future cruise brides. Happy marriage!
  17. Love this!! I found out these things 1st hand when I went on my first cruise in 04'. A heads up for guest will be much appreciated I'm sure.
  18. Never been to St. Thomas but LOVED, LOVED, LOVED Cozumel!! Even where the ship docked was beautiful and cultural. We did Paradise Beach & San Fransisco Beach & Pool. Lovely!
  19. Â Â RCCL guide just keeps mentioning that THEY will provide professional shipboard photographer. I didn't see the words "you can not bring your own". lol NCL guide mentions they have a professional photographer for wedding day. Again, not saying the words "you can't bring your own". However both mention not being allow outside vendors, so my guess this does include a photographer. Â NCL: Are outside wedding vendors allowed on board the ship? Due to heightened security, NCL and/or Wedding Aisles provides all professional services such as; wedding photographers, videographers, entertainment, food and beverage, cakes, fresh flowers, etc. No outside vendors and/or services are permitted. RCCL: No outside vendors and / or services are permitted. Â
  20. We plan to be cruise brides very soon as we will be booking in the next few weeks. Â Where have all the cruise brides gone!?!?!?
  21. We actually were discussing how to 'smuggle' our photographer on as a 'guest' lol. My only thing is we are doing our wedding on the ship and not off the ship which I feel would be easier to hide. Since we can not afford to pay for the photographer's cruise he would just be one of our non-sailing guest. Has anyone ever did it this way!?!
  22. Not sure if your doing a beach wedding but Paradise Beach in Cozumel was great. We spent almost the whole day there back in 2004 and it was very intimate in a sense that a zillion people weren't there. The beach has sand & water of course, but also hammocks, plenty of trees and beach toys. They also serve food on the beach and have a bar.  Also, the next beach over which is called San Fransisco beach was also great. When we left the first beach we walked over to the that one and they had a great pool with a swim up bar. There we had the best time lounging and swimming, and we even had some virgin drinks straight out the coconut! lol  If any of the two do weddings on their sites you will get some great pictures!  http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com
