  1. I don't think you sound like an arrogant American! I want me and my FI to actually know what's going on! Because of the Spanish only civil ceremony, requirements for blood testing, witnesses needing to arrive early, and the costs associated with getting everything translated - my FI and I are opting to have a very very very quiet civil ceremony here in the States and having a symbolic ceremony in Playa. This will mean that we can write our own ceremony and no one will be any the wiser
  2. Ladies, I went with a TA from this site (Teresa Stauring) and she is absolutely fantastic! So prompt and quick with her responses, and beyond patient!!!
  3. Ok, well I reeeeeeeeeeeeally do need to get it in gear! My best friend just started a photography business a few months ago and she is doing my boudoir pics. Originally I figured I would do them in the fall, but she is going to be booking some shoots with friends to build her portfolio so I said I would do it early - as in April 4th!!! Two months to get it right, get it tight!
  4. Thanks girl!!! And another Philly area bride, I see! Heyyyyy! The colors are fun! Maybe try looking online at some inspiration boards. And who cares if your cousin used turquoise too! You'll be making this YOUR day in so many other ways, I'm sure no one will even notice.
  5. Here's my use of the lawn sign! All I had to pay for was $2.99 for the stand! Underneath, I'll have a mat saying "Lose Your Shoes" with two paintbrushes tied with aqua ribbon
  6. I was sooooo good all week! Followed my routine (I am doing the 10 lb Slimdown 30day program from Exercise TV) all week. I'm even going to pick up an extra workout session today! I've been looking at pics of my dress and getting motivated as heck!
  7. Welcome! I didn't really do too much digging into Beach Palace as my FI couldn't get past his vision of Cancun (as much as I tried!). PP is absolutely family friendly (I have 2 six year olds and 1 eight year old so that was a non-negotiable). I also really liked how small the hotel is (only 205 rooms) and the fact the it was directly on 5th Avenue so we could leave the resort and walk around town. Make a list of what's important to you and then see how each of them match up!
  8. Thanks so much ladies!!!! Sometime my eye will wander at other dresses and I'll start to second guess, so I really appreciate all the wonderful comments!!!!!
  9. Thanks!! In the pic, I think it's a bit Scarlett O'Hara, but on - and especially with a flower in my hair, it's soooo senorita!
  10. My amaaaaaazing dress!!!!!!!
  11. Thanks for letting us know Tanya! Yea, I would think with a gap of two hours that it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Especially because depending on when you are getting married, sunset is quite early so they won't do weddings after a certain time - and who wants to get married at 11 am? My wedding is 1-6-12 (*gasp!* 11 months away tomorrow!) and the last wedding that they will do on that day is 4 pm, which is the slot I reserved. That means that the 4 pm & the 3 pm slot are filled, so anyone else getting married that day would have to do a 2 pm or 11 am. I'm not too concerned
  12. I am also guilty of already having my dress!!! I couldn't help myself, lol!!!! Tomorrow, is 11 months away from the wedding - holy crap! I can't believe where the time went I'm obsessed with my dress, but my eye has definitely wandered at times - I just keep reminding myself of how perfect it is for my style of wedding (beach, Mexico, AHR back here afterwards) and smack myself on the hand for wanting to go try more on! Lol
  13. You got it! www.jennycastrophotography.com
  14. Hey there! I am definitely planning on doing the same thing! I have read amazing things about that resort, and Cozumel as a whole. The only reason we were against getting married at Cozumel Palace was the lack of beach. That was a non-negotiable for me and the FI, we both wanted to be barefoot on the beach!
  15. I know that's right!! And yes - Jenny is my bestest friend in the whole wide world The only thing she isn't going to do is my AHR and that's because I want her to be able to drink, relax, and have fun! She has always had such an amazing eye for photography, and in October decided to say what the heck and try out starting her own photography business. If you saw her site, you would never believe she has no formal training (she's just starting that now). Soooooo freaking proud of her!!!
  16. Love this idea!! If we ever seen an end to winter, that is!
  17. Hahaha! I have also had to have the "don't look at me while I'm working out" speech. I've been doing pretty good with working out this week, not so great with the eating. So hopefully I don't blow it on my weigh in day Tuesday!
  18. Heck ya! Living in Philly, shoveling has become my new workout! Jillian Michaels today <3
  19. All these Philly BDWers! Yaaa! Congrats and welcome ladies!
  20. Had off today so I had all plans of a nice hour long pilates workout. Instead I spent three hours digging out from the almost 2 feet of snow we got here in PA. I checked livestrong.com and apparently I burn 5.5 calories a minute shoveling - that's almost a thousand calories. Ummm, I think I'm done for the day! Lol
  21. Love the Spanish reference guide - thanks for the template!
