  1. LMAO!! That woulda been hella funny!! I wish I coulda checked it out... I swear the resort was so huge that even when we tried to look for it in the daytime we couldn't see where it was!! If anyone's been, pls let us know what its like
  2. Thanks Perry and all the ladies for the compliments!! Its virtually still a toss up so today I tried calling the store that has dress #1 but it was CLOSED!! I'm still curious to know the price of the Evelyn and if there's time to order a new one or if the sample I tried on is for sale. I think I could afford the dress ONLY IF I am able to sell the first one. *I'll start to fish to see if anyone wants to buy it?? Any takers out there IF I were to decide to SELL it? BRAND NEW SIZE 8 - ALLURE Purchased for $1180 total after taxes...... Looking for potential offers to help me decide. If all else fails and I have no bids, then I will keep the one I own and try to alter the top part which is the thing that really bothers me most... I DO love the ruffle skirt for suuure! It also goes well with my MOH & BM dresses too, hence what I envisioned wearing from the get-go.... and if I end up wearing this dress in the end it's still a GORGEOUS gown.
  3. The ruffle one is MUCH more comfortable than the lace.... I'm debating between comfort or beauty? but both are beautiful, I just seem to have lost the WOW factor for my dress.
  4. OMG I'm in love with this song!!! It tells the story of our long courtship perfectly...... Thanks for sharing it!!!
  5. Yes I think at this point I might not be able to afford to change dresses and I was told that it might be too late to order one from production at this point.... sooooo I think I might just have to put some personal touches to my dress to hopefully fall in love in it and feel amazing in it
  6. WOW the list keeps growing!! I can't believe we have at least one bride getting married every day in May EXCEPT Wednesday May 25th
  7. We're in the same boat!!! Let's hope our dresses can turn into the gown of our dreams.... goodluck!!!!
  8. Great pictures!! loved em
  9. FYI - in case you haven't been to the resort, the have old school regular cut room keys on a string and NOT room keycards *sharing this in case it factors into what kind of room key holder/tip holder/keychain thingamagiggy you might get! i'm thinking of giving vertical zipper holders on carabiner clips + maybe even little LED keychain lights in my OOT bags, because the resort is really HUGE and it can be very dark at night For those of you who have been here before, I was wondering how the hotel nightclub/disco was? *I didn't have a chance to go when I visited with my mom..... in retrospect it would have been pretty fun(ny) if my mom and I went to the club together that maybe I should have asked her! LOL
  10. Thanks ladies for all the advice... I may end up going with a compromise and asking my store to alter the top to be like the *San Patrick Evelyn (I mistakenly said Demetrios above) and maybe even a flower/ruffle one shoulder strap??? but I will also be calling the other store to 'inquire' if their Evelyn sample can be sold and for how much If anyone MIGHT be interested in purchasing the dress to the right please let me know
  11. Thanks acireta... my wedding won't be on the beach though so I think the lace could be appropriate in a chapel wedding?
  12. Carly - Thanks for your comments, but unfortunately the store doesn't carry the lace gown and can't order the first dress ..... and like you it still takes my breath away..... I felt like a million bucks in that one!! but I went with the 'ruffles' for the theme PLUS its more comfortable than the lace... BUT does a bride go for GLAMOUR or COMFORT??? Hi Mocha! My theme is very spanish, but my venue is not a beach.... it will be a church wedding and a beach/restaurant reception. Not sure if it makes a difference though.... I went to the store I bought the dress from and she also suggested that she'll do whatever it takes for me to fall in love with it again.... I just don't feel that it flatters my figure as well Thanks TLGnhci - I've managed to complain SO MUCH that my groom knows I'm having these doubts
  13. HELP!!! I'm one of those brides that is suffering from severe dress regret and am not sure if I bought the right dress.... THE STORY: I went dress shopping with my sister while my mom was away on vacation. We went to at least 6-8 stores tried on at least 30-50 dresses, narrowed it down to my top 3 and brought my mom back to see them. At one of the stores my mom pulls a completely different/new gown I hadn't tried on and was eventually convinced that it didn't fit the scene, the venue, the theme (*ruffles were more 'spanishy'), etc. since it was heavy and lace. Not to mention I wanted to do a TTD and I'd drown in the beading/lace!! After leaving that store, we went across to the next store to try on another dress from my top 3 - it was on sale and I ended up making the purchase...... yet I still can't stop looking and trying on dresses/gowns because I've LOST that 'wow feeling' of the one I bought.... what do you guys think? I don't know how to add a poll to a thread but I'd be interested in some opinions? *MOH dress - JH5924 (http://www.bigdaydress.com/ecom/products/p_JH5924#DetailImage ) *Bridesmaids dresses - JH8052 (http://www.bigdaydress.com/ecom/products/p_JH5082#DetailImage ) The one my Mom found - Demetrios Evelyn My dress - Allure 8705
  14. Thanks for the extra info mocha!! I'll wait until my sisters dress come and make the final decision.
  15. Hi Mocha - could I ask you to comment on the quality of the dress and style that you received from bigdaydress?? Were the dresses the same as in the picture and it was just the color that was off? or were the dresses just horrible?? I'm expecting my MOH's dress in early Feb, but I'm watching an episode of Wedding SOS right now where the dresses they bought online were HORRIBLE!! and i'm really getting scared and nervous. I'm really worried that once I get the dress (and if they're just crappy quality) I might have to change my mind and get them made by a seamstress and not sure how much time they will need, so I guess the sooner I decide the better.
  16. BBS - I would say it took under 2 weeks to arrive. Have her ship them as GIFTS so you pay no duties!!
  17. Thanks for posting the comparison pictures - that does look REALLY red. EEKS! I'm super nervous now. If you're wanting a more pinkish tone then I would say you should order #20 (which is what the site told me matches Coral the best)... Or just go with another dress you find.
  18. My bouquets will be real... if you can take a comparison picture that'd be helpful!! I notice you're from Ontario... I have the swatches if you want to see them? Let me know
  19. Mocha - Have you ordered the swatches? 58 is a light neon pink and isn't the shade I'm looking for... I hope #9 works for my MOH *hoping it will match orange callas* and if the shade is really off then I might change it and order #20 for the bridesmaids. Thankfully I ordered the MOH dress first, that way any last minute changes are still possible!

    150 posts!

YAY!!! ITS OFFICIAL!!! My status has changed!!
  21. also...... Some brides have saved a lot of money by buying them blank and adding custom waterproof stickers with their monogram! I might also do the same to keep costs down *100 mugs could easily eat up 2/3 of my budget if I go with the wrong vendor!... this way I've priced it to about 1.17 per mug!!!
