I think we may go to the Steakhouse and then rent a bar for a couple of hours after. Im still undecided on getting the DJ people have been talking about on here. Does anybody know what kind of music he plays?? Or if we should just use an Ipod? Anyhow, it'll all work out Im sure!! Thanks =) Hi Congrats on getting your date! DJ Mannia will play whatever kind of music you ask. They truly have a very wide selection. He will take your suggestions or just read the crowd if you dont want to make a list of songs to play. We just had them at our wedding on June 11th and they were fantastic. Good luck!
  4. Just returned and I have to say it was PERFECT!! We had the best time and everything was beautiful. I will write a full review soon.
  5. Our day is coming so quickly! I am so excited and nervous all at once. don't worry too much your dress will fit, although I have to admit I am a bit worried about my dress not fitting properly. i havent exactly been eating well this past week.
  6. Congrats Ali! Sounds like you had a great time despite the rain. Cant wait to see pics!
  7. wow. we are a little over two weeks away. we are marrying at the majestic elegance punta cana. i am so excited and nervous all at once. dont laugh but i am still trying to decide how i want to wear my hair. the welcome bags are done (except i honestly keep wanting to buy more stuff to put in). i am going to start packing this weekend to make sure we can fit it all in. i had my 2nd bachelorette party this past weekend and had both showers a few weeks ago. i pick up my dress today with final alterations done. i think i am forgetting things....
  8. i love this thread, its amazingly helpful and calming! can't wait to add my list in a few weeks
  9. For all the ladies that want them but cant find them at your local dollar tree they have them online. Bulk Tropical Fish Net Bath Sponges at DollarTree.com the only thing is if you buy them online and have them shipped (or pick them up in store) you have to buy an entire case (72 at $1/item=$72). Maybe some of you could split a case if you dont need that many. hope this helps

Keep up the good work ladies Please post, I only have a few weeks to go and every bit counts

I can't believe a year has come and gone. Time flies! Congrats and good luck planning, your day will be here before you know it. As for times, we are doing ours at 4pm. We are having a symbolic ceremony with Pastor York and doing a first look moment and pictures before with Phil Steingard. I can't wait to meet both of them! We also booked Diego from Brightlights for our video. Wow! Congrats, it will be a blast! If you dont mind once you get to the Elegance side could you take note of 1) how far the steakhouse is from Parrots Bar 2) how far Parrots is from bar and 3) if the piano bar area is a good place for cocktails in your opinion

Our wedding is on the last day before the guests leave (2 and we move to another resort for our honeymoon!! I'm so excited. I have my dress, FI's suit, rings, clothes, photographer booked. I'm not bringing anything wedding related (decorations etc.) Our favors arrived last week (mugs/bags) and all I have to do now is get FI to compile our music for the ceremony and dinner (he's a DJ, so that's his task). I'm still on the hunt for honeymoon clothes, I want white shorts, dresses and halter tops! Is anyone else getting married in Punta Cana in June? I am also a June bride getting married in Punta Cana. Our date is June 11th. Its coming so quickly. We have FI's suit, I just had my fitting today, we have decorations, BM dresses and gifts, most things for the OOT bags, booked a photographer months ago but she didnt require a deposit so I'm a bit nervous about that, last week i booked an officiant and dj. I still need to find a guest book and sand ceremony kit. AND I still dont know how i want to wear my hair
  15. Totally agree with carolina24 and jealousy 88. you should have a proper moment/story (for yourself). no one is saying the ring has to cost as much as a down payment on a house (that is totally unnecessary). i think if you need a ring and a story, which obviously you do theres an entire thread devoted to it, he should do his best to give it to you. just my 2 cents
  16. hi Jessica thanks for the info. how do you plan to navigate this? even with the open bar I think we only have until 11pm (please correct me if I'm wrong). do you think it will be enough time? Thanks Renee! i am so excited i'm about to burst!
  17. this is a great thread! i have been laughing all night reading this. i went to a wedding once where the ceremony was pretty nice, however the reception consisted of a boombox, cherry flavored kool-aid, coldcuts and kraft cheese slices on a dollar store "silver" tray. i def understand being on a budget but seriously?!?!
  18. very sad, she looked so much younger before. now she looks like a middle aged woman trying to look like a twenty something
  19. Hi Ladies, Sorry if I am repeating another post. Does anyone know if the non-private dinner can start before 6:30 pm? If we decide not to do the open bar that means that we will only have about 2 hours for the private party following dinner (since I have read on here that if you don't do the open bar you have to be finished by 10 PM). Thanks less than 6 weeks to go.....
  20. People in the express check out lane with a gazillion items. Whats the silliest thing you and your FI have fought over/ or disagreed on?
  21. Congrats and welcome! Your day is fast approaching!!
