  1. I initially thought I had 35 (including us) people coming. Just learned today that I have over 40! Unfortunately, they do not hold restaurant reservations for parties over 35.
  2. Biggest stress factor was getting people to book on time and trying to coordinate everything. I have family spread out between several different states so I had to make sure everybody was right along with us.
  3. You got your fire dancers really cheap! I booked mine through DecoCancun and she billed me $500 for two firedancers for 15 minutes.

The spa coordinator gave me a list of their services and everything in there is at last over $100.
  5. Mmm... Will definitely book a massage then. How does it work with the new Palace Passport to Savings deal? Before, it was just $50 towards the spa. Is it any different? Do we actually get more money towards the spa?
  6. Mrs. D, you sound like you are having the time of your life. Thanks for sharing! Good luck on your wedding. I know it will just be perfect.
  7. Unfortunately, we will be lugging our OOT bags with us. Since we are arriving days ahead of our guests, we will be assembling them and putting them in their rooms.

You can get different kinds of vellum in any scrapbook stores. I bought the LED tea lights from Dollar Tree then I cut the vellum in about 2.5 in. strips and wrapped them around the tea lights using a hot glue. I used a stamper to put the words WITH LOVE on the vellum. I originally wanted to do glass candle votives and wrap them with vellum to be used as luminaries but then my WC did say that it was too windy and sometimes, tea light candles could not remain lit.
  10. Anyone has a new map of Moon Palace? I am planning to include a map for my guests in my Welcome to Mexico brochure. However, the one that my WC forwarded to me seemed old (Grand side was not even mentioned). I tried opening the one at their website but it comes out as error.

Thanks, C Not all beaches in Cancun are created equal. The problem with Moon Palace is that it has a seaweed problem. It is mostly associated with the Sunrise sand. The beach at the Nizuc side and the Grand side doesn't have that much of a problem. That is the reason why they hold all weddings at the Nizuc side.
  12. Finished my LED tea light luminaries tonight! Thank you so much for the helpful ideas. Took a picture with my Blackberry. I wanted to take a picture with the tea lights all lit up but it didn't turn out so well. Here's the finished product.
  13. Thanks for the info! I am planning to bring Flyboy's to line the aisle.
  14. All of them look great! Why not use all three of them? Use a different kind of centerpiece on every table. They're all really pretty.

I will also be putting votive candles around these vases and some white seashells/starfish to make them beachy. I am putting one vase of each size on the tables surrounded by 5 or so votives. On the head table I will have 1 large vase and 2 small vases (head table made up of 3 long tables, a set of vases on each of the long tables) with votives surrounding them. Cost = 7 large vase = $14 10 medium vase = $10 7-8 orchid stems = $32 17 floating candles = $17 36 votives (from Michaels) = $15 seashells = $5-10 GRAND TOTAL = $98 (high estimate) That is less than $100 for 4 round tables and the head table!!! It looks beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

How did you past brides even decide!!!! I have Cristina as my WC, anybody else have her? We are now having our reception at the Terrazza Mar, so I hope to see more photos of it! I am still on the fence about the chair bows. My FI and bridesmaids keep insisting that nobody will notice or care, and that it is too much of an effort to bring them down (yeah b/c they don't want them in their suitcases!) and that at $3 each at the resort it is a waste, what do you girls think? Will it be okay without the chair bows?? Yeah, the menu is really lengthy. I chose the Yucatan style buffet. I had a Yucatan style buffet two years ago while I was in Cancun and I absolutely love the food- especially the Pibil style chicken. I think it's a Yucatan specialty. We were gonna get chair bows too but I decided that renting them at the resort was too expensive and buying them and bringing them would be a waste too. I mean, what am I going to do with 40 chair bows? Instead, I am just going to get two of them and have them put it on the bride and groom chairs.

Thanks for the idea! I already got damask printed vellum. I am putting love quotes on mine using a laser printer. I got the template at http://www.gartnerstudios.com/node/2761

Way easier to pack and won't have to worry about getting there and having any of the candle holders breaking. Plus paper takes up very little room We used a glue stick to glue the vellum to the base of the tea lights. Works great. I'll add some ribbon just to spruce it up. Now that's an idea. One good thing about LED tea lights is that they're not that heavy. thanks for telling me! I'm going to haul my glass votives back to Walmart now.

Has anyone else had this issue? I went with the Palace Resort DJ and he charged me 1100 for 3 hours. I heard that ouside DJs are cheaper but I know that you have to pay extra to have them come in I think.
  20. It's kinda hard sticking to a budget... I set 10K and I quickly realized, it just doesn't cut it. Of course, it would have been cheaper had I opted out of a private function. However, I had a couple more people call saying they were definitely coming (I ASKED THEM TO RSVP BY MID-APRIL) so now it's up to 40..
  21. Thanks for posting this! It will help all future brides..
