I would be a HUGE fan of the new beach if the wind factor decreased
  7. Hi ladies! I was wondering if you were able to get a decent group rate for your guests?? I love this resort....but initial check on the website returned rates for around $500 per night per couple in Nov '10. Does that sound about right? Did you and your guests book through a TA or the resort? Thank you!
  8. I think I am going to walk down the aisle to Pachebel Canon D on the steel drums too...I would like to have a live steel drum player....but I don't know how much that is and if it will fit into the budget yet!!
  9. Thanks for sharing!! I saw him playing a wedding on youtube and he was great!!
  10. I definitely would like to use a steel drum band as well!! Are you planning to book this through your resort??
  11. Question for all of you ladies....how long did it take for you to get an initial response back from a wedding consultant? I sent an email almost 2 weeks ago trying to get information around what dates are available....and haven't heard anything back yet Thanks! Nicole

I've been curious what they look like...and whether or not I'm going to have to come up with something by myself. Thank you! Nicole

  16. This is something I am also struggling with....given that destination weddings by nature are less traditional....I would like to maintain something of tradition. But on the flip side...I don't want to take pictures for an hour plus after the ceremony. It will more then likely be a very last minute decision for us
  17. I am a second time bride and have made it very clear to friends and family that I don't want to have another bridal shower......I feel like because I've already done the bridal shower thing with my first wedding....I shouldn't do it again. The majority of the people bought me showers gifts a while back
  18. great post!! so glad I found this...FI and I are really looking for ways to save money. Thanks for the great tips
  19. We are leaning towards not having a cocktail party. We are expecting a very large group...and bypassing the cocktail party will save a lot of money. We will probably direct guests to gather at one of the hotel bars for the 1 hour period the cocktail hour would normall take place during...and then all head to reception site together.
  20. so glad I found this thread. I've been struggling to pick a resort and it's because of the prices I've been seeing...I want to make it affordable so friends and family can come....but I also want it to be at a resort I love. Thank you for all your perspectives!!
