  1. Both times have pros and cons. Sunset wedding you have to make sure everything runs like clock work cause you don't want to miss the sunset and the perfect photo ops, as such you are working against the clock and nature. But how gorgeous are the pics!!! Then of course you get to have a cocktail hour and dinner dancing into the night under the stars with all of your guests, if you are near the water you can see the moonlight glistening off the water as you all dance by soft candle lights underneath starry skies. With a morning wedding nothing beats the vibrant colors. The sun sparkling down on the ocean making everything pop with color. You don't have to worry about catching the light...its there. It'll be hotter than an evening wedding but once the wedding is over eg start at 11am ceremony takes 45 minutes you still have a cocktail hour (I've seen it done with rum punch and lots of vibrant drinks...even some midday lemonade), then you have a hearty lunch as your reception and guests can still retire early, say 4pm and still have time to do what they like in the evening or you can even meet up later in the evening for dancing off site. Also let's not forget that a lunch menu is going to be cheaper than a dinner menu at most resorts. I think its really up to you. How do you envision your wedding? Do you see yourself staring lovingly into your FI's eyes with a setting sun in the distance, or do you see yourself strolling along the sand, the sun high in the sky and the ocean glistening from its rays. What do you picture when you dream of this day?
  2. I think its not such a big deal. I sent my FMIL and my mom a pic of the bridesmaid dresses and asked that they compliment the wedding colors but not match. I would say if its not a big deal don't worry about it, rather have her happy about what she is wearing than grumpy or worse trying to upset you by wearing something that clashes. I wouldn't make too much of it. If it bothers you too much to let it go then mention it to her, but if she protests then just let her wear it. Let her worry about looking like a BM you have too many other important things to worry about. Good luck!
  3. I'm also using Pachelbel's Canon in D Major, but mine is 3 minutes and 46 seconds long. Chelsea I am guessing you are using Canon in D (Pachelbel) paired with Air on G String (Bach) which is the composition most people use at weddings. I would say that you can do something similar to what Chelsea mentioned. I am having the parents and the bridal party walk down the aisle to Canon in D and then I will be walking down to an entirely different song. Mine works out perfectly because they don't start walking till 15 seconds into the song, first FI with his mom, then his best man with my MOH then the other bridesmaid with groomsman and so on. Everyone is being instructed not to start walking down until the last couple has taken their places. That way there is a pause in between and I am having the music fade out (reduce the volume very very slowly) before I come down the aisle to my song. Did you try discussing with you wedding coordinator to see how other brides have timed it in the past at that resort?
  4. Go for color!!! I'm trying to find some sassy plum colored shoes myself since its one of my colors for my wedding. Rock the fuschia!
  5. Water Music Suite No.1 in F by Handel Water Music Suite No.2 in D Major by Handel Walts of Flowers by Tchaikovsky Are what we chose for the prelude. I was hoping to have a violinist but there wasn't one so I'll be using our ipod.
  6. Your pics were beautiful! Love the color of the bridesmaid dresses....so tropical. You made a gorgeous bride. Congrats!
  7. Super cute! And you can't beat the fact that you saved money. I love how they came out! Great job!
  8. I was just checking back in to see how this turned out and see if any final pics were posted just yet. Any news?
  9. Man I can't believe you are going through this. You would think people would make the effort to attend your AHR especially your sister!!!!!! But don't get me started on her......I'm glad you are staying positive about the whole thing. In the end I would say call the people who haven't responded yet (I am all about giving people the benefit of the doubt). Those who can come will....to hell with the rest of 'em, it still cause for celebration so be sure you do just that. Celebrate! They'll regret it later and then you can say "yes it was a pity you couldn't come, we had a blast, just look at the pics!"
  10. I LOVE YOU KRYS!!!!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!! Jervon did send me his brother's contact info. I didn't know he played the sax as well...I thought it was a flute or something. Monique actually took vacation last week cause I had to do everything through Suzie to book our rooms. Oh well, I will try sending another email. I am also gonna jump on sending my deposit to David (Atabeyra) since I don't want to lose that. My cake is being done through the resort. Do you know any other flower options other than EA? I asked for a mock up through Monique back in May from them and have never received anything. Thanks again for coming to the rescue!

  13. Yeah its a little tricky. Carly I also noticed when someone responds to a thread after me, the thread goes back to being bright blue, so it makes you think that I didn't respond.....so I went ahead and passed the suggestion on to Tammy. Hopefully we figure something out because so far this morning I have responded to most items under "All New Posts" but people keep going in after me and responding so all show up as bright blue again as if I didn't write anything.....but I do love how easy it is to post....woohoo I am racking up those points...loving it!
