  1. I think I read somewhere on the forum where some ladies used mypublisher.com butI haven't personally used them and others used snapfish I think. Try searching the threads should show up. Good luck! I didn't know sarah did these.....good to know.
  2. Hi Brianna, no I haven't been to the Somerset which is why I am worried. I guess I will have to trust everyone that the food is good. I have a tough crowd attending so we'll see in the end what they think. For our rehearsal we are doing a dinner at Bay Bistro but with the bridal party only. We are doing a cruise earlier that evening which will be for everyone. I will have canapes catered by Joan then as well. Â I'm not sure about the cake. I don't want to do it but I know the mothers really want to. I think between the candy bar and the desserts that should be enough for anyone with a sweet tooth. I don't eat ice cream, or cake, or cookies, or sweets, but hubby is huge on candy especially chocolate so we are doing a candy bar. Â I know for the entrees we are doing the filet mignon, the snapper and the rizzoto, for the appetizers its the three ways ceviche or a caprese salad and the desserts are choice of two but I can't remember which two at the moment. Â I think everything is pretty much in place. I am just in the process right now of organizing the rest of the activities - the grooms golfing bachelor day and my bachelorette. Instead of doing traditional bachelor/bachelorette he will be having a golf thing and I will be doing the spa thing. Â How many days will you be on island? Are you also indulging your guests in other activities. We are gonna do a dive group while we are there for all our guests who are certified. That should be the most fun. I did my first fitting today and everything just hit me.....I'm really really getting married. LOL!
  3. I'm doing OOT bags and at the ceremony site there will be fans. I didn't do separate favors for the reception cause I didn't think anyone would miss them since my OOT bags have quite a few things in there.
  4. I always like seeing engagement photos its like they bring the story of the romance to life. Beautiful pics, thanks for sharing. I wish I had done this but I guess I had underestimated what a nice touch this gives to the memories. Thanks for sharing!!
  5. Lovely dresses ladies!!! JR14 that Allure is stunning on you. I totally know what you mean by making it one of a kind by adding an accessory I saw a bride add a sash of sparkles around the waist and it put a totally different spin on the dress. Can't wait to see what you do. Â Jewels I know I am coming in late but dress #2 looks beautiful on you. It hugs your curves and is both sexy and sophisticated and I think just awesome. Good luck with your decision. Â Ladies all of the dresses are fabulous.

If you are unable to fulfill the rules of passing along the starfish and the journal please do not participate and allow someone else the opportunity to. Please note that Clgriffi7 will be the last person on the list. Thanks ladies! Â
  7. Brianna since you were able to do a tasting I'm interested to know which of the dishes you liked. I won't get to do a tasting and it is racking my last nerve cause two of our guests are chefs and I would hate for them to think the food was sub-par. We ended up choosing the Porcini dusted steak and the Caicos snapper (I prefer fish and my FI is a meat and potatoes kind of guy). Which of the meals from your tasting did you enjoy the most. Â For the moment we have decided not to do a cake. I don't eat cake and neither does FI not to mention we have been to 7 weddings for the year (ours will be the last wedding for the year we will attend before we pick back up in February for a very good friends wedding......can you say weddinged out....lol I know thats not a word). Anyway we noticed at every single wedding no one ate the cake and if they did they took two bites and complained because they were hoping for red velvet, but it was chocolate, or it was vanilla and they were hoping for red velvet. The mothers would prefer if we did a small cake, but I've told Monique literally if we do one it will be a last minute decision.....as in she will be told the day before....which I'm guessing the chef is ok with. I must admit I have only been in touch with the chef once and that was in coordinating the sides (we mixed things from all over the menu and put them together we didn't like the accompaniments for the meals as they were so I had one of my friends who is a chef look it over and mix and match). Other than that I have been pretty much in touch with Monique the entire time.....should I be worried? Then again my wedding is pretty small. Â In terms of the canapes Monique and Lauren recommended 14 dozen but since Nsblum had warned me whatever amount they told me to go higher I added two more dozen....I'd rather have more than less. Â All of my guests are staying at Somerset but then again we are only 41 so I guess if we were any larger people would have to start looking into other hotels.....yesterday I was at 39 but a few stragglers are now calling to say they have booked and are coming.....hmmm...I wonder what the occupancy of the hotel is...as in the limit. Â Brianna is your BBQ your rehearsal dinner? We'll be having our rehearsal dinner at Bay Bistro.....which reminds me I still need to get in touch with Joan. Ok ladies talk to you all soon. Â Ciao
  8. 15 minutes of cardio on the elliptical and 75 minutes of weight lifting. Tomorrow.......YOGA!!!!!
  9. I don't have an inspiration board but my colors are soft pink, plum, silver with touches of bright green.
  10. Ladies I forgot to mention I pick up my dress tomorrow!!!!!! And I get the mock up for my bouquet on Friday....this is going to be an exciting week. Talk to you ladies soon!!!
  11. Hi Brianna, like nsblum suggested I did not go with the tall vases or the candles. I originally wanted some tall vases and some short ones....for more depth from my centerpieces but after talking to Nicole and then having a very frank conversation with Louise and Aimee they very candidly admitted that in recent weddings both at Somerset and other properties the candles did not stay lit and the tall vases were poorly received because people complained they had to look around them to talk or move them from the tables all together. I was a bit apprehensive about my centerpieces since I wanted to actually see a mock up prior to putting any deposit in the end I went into a local florist here and completely had them do a mockup for me. I lucked out because we are having an AHR at the fourseasons so the florist did me this favor. I went with short square vases lined w/gardenia leaves and blooming with peonies, ranunculus, lisanthus and hypericum berries. On either side I will have long vases filled with sparkling water and submerged sabin porchids and LED lights. Trying to coordinate the flowers was driving me nuts because I knew exactly what I had in my mind and wasn't going to settle for anything else...in the end I am happy with it cause...well basically I picked it all out. At first I thought the prices from EA were a bit pricey but I negotiated as much as I could and considering Louise let me know because of the blooms I chose everything would have to come from Italy/Europe not the US I think their prices are fair. Another bride has passed along another florist info to me a while back. If you want to compare I can try to see if I can find it......I'll look. In terms of canapes we ended up with 16 dozen and chose a variety of different ones (basically about 6 or 7 different kinds) we're only having 40 people. Are all of your guests staying at the Somerset?
  12. Everything looks superb. Can't believe you got those bags at Dollarama what a steal!!! Can I ask who did your place cards? I like the imprint of the flower in the corner of them.
  13. Great job Cindy! You're going to make one beautiful blinged out bride (the necklace shoes and accessories are to die for). I know you're going to be a stunning bride.....tons of blessings and joy for your day. Can't wait to hear from you when you get back.
  14. Girl all you have to do is be neurotic like me and order another bunch again when they are all free.....tell them you were unhappy with your last batch they will give you the credit for your shipping and viola....new brochures....lol. I know I am bad.....heeheehee. Â
  15. Oh my goodness, that is one stunning dress. Did you get it? I can't wait to see your pics in it....very elegant.
  16. These are identical to the Badgley Mischka's I tried on in a plum color at Nordstrom this weekend. I didn't get them because I was undecided on the color. LOL! Glad to know I don't have to shell out $215
  17. I have to agree with the ladies, the hair pins are going to look best with that hairstyle. I love your dress....you're going to look stunning and your jewelry choice is awesome. The pink shoes are such a wonderful playful, fun, flirty touch.
  18. Congrats and welcome Ashley Nicole. I have heard destinationweddings.com mention on the site before so you may want to do a search and read the reviews from other brides. I'm sure you'll be able to find lots of good tips and advice. Good luck with planning your DW and happy planning!

    hii!! :)

Hi Jennifer! Welcome to the forum and congrats you're gonna love all the information you gather here. Good luck and happy planning!
  20. I'm doing one bag per couple. Some of the items in the bag are shareable (like the underwater cameras) and some are individualistic (like the sarongs for the women and golf items for the men). However I won't be doing favors at the reception. I think its really up to you, what your budget allows and what you want to do.
