  2. Hello Ladies, Â I just started my Message in a bottle invitations. I ordered the kits from www.bottlemeamessage.com and had them print the invitations for me on burnt edge parchment paper. I also ordered the printed response cards with starfish design on the edges. The kit includes: bottle, cork, sand, shells, parchment paper and mailing boxes. I paid extra to have the invitations printed and added on the response cards which were printed as well. I purchased raffia cord, The blue ribbon, heart charms and raffia cord from michaels. The parasols were purchased at a 99 cents store and brought 12 in each pack. The bottle labels were from Zazzle.com I will post photos of the actual invitation and response cards soon. If you ladies have any questions, feel free to ask. Â Â Â Â Â

  5. Cute story!! Congrats!! I too became desperate at one point.
  6. My FI and I have been together for over 5 yrs. I always dreamt of the day when he would propose and wondered how he would do it. Here's my story; We went on vacation to Hawaii in December of 2009. On December 2nd While in Maui, we booked a tour to the Haleakala Volcano. The views from the summit are breathtaking and the best part, which I was most excited about was watching the sunrise. We were advised to be at the hotel lobby at 2:30 AM on december 3rd, to be picked up. YES, 2:30 AM!! We get to the top of the Haleakala, which takes 3 hrs to reach by car. We were told that the sun would rise at approximately 6:40 AM. The sky was pitch black and the stars twinkled like diamonds in the sky. We watched as the sky got lighter and the clouds looked like white, fluffy snow, surrounding the mountain. The sky changed from shades of blue, to red, to orange as the sun rose. When the sun peeked out a bit, My FI says.... Babe, it's 6:40 AM, the sun is rising and I'd like to take a photo of us with the sunrise. He signals for me to walk over to him and to take off my jacket. I get to him and he grabs my hand. FI then sets the camera down on one of the rocks after he set the timer for a self captured photo. As I stand there posing for the camera....FI begins.... Babe, we've been together for over 5 yrs and it's been great..... At this point, i'm looking at him as if he had three heads because I was trying to figure out where he was going with this. FI goes into his pocket and takes out this pretty black velvet box. When he opened it, I saw my ring!! It was so surreal!! I was thinking.... Is this really it? Am I dreaming? Now I'm balling and everything else in my FI's beautiful speech was BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. My ears went deaf and I missed all he had to say. In front of many on lookers and the beautiful sunrise, FI asked me to marry him. And of course, I said YES!! The best proposal ever and it happened to me!! I think back on this moment and till this day I still smile...
  7. Here's a picture of my actual ring. It was difficult trying to get the picture at the best angle without glare or the flash making the ring extra bright. This was the best I could do.
  8. OOPS!! I'm still trying to learn how to download pictures. The previous post is a download. I'm gonna try and post a photo that's similar to my ring.
  9. Here's my E-ring!! It's an emerald cut diamond with pave diamonds around it and down along the sides. My FI bought me exactly what I wanted. He's the best!
  10. I checked with my WC at moon palace because I had the same question as well and she said that I had to purchase a day pass for them. It worked out perfect because I was nervous about this being that I had already booked with the photographer!! I was willing to pay for 1 night stay either way because I want an outside photographer. Pictures are VERY important to me and was/am willing to do whatever I had to do to make it happen. Thankfully it worked in my favor. I booked with Moments that Matter Photography. They're vendors on this site and have great reviews on their work. Everyone raves about them. Check them out at Momentsthatmatterphotography.com
  11. Thank You so much!! Now I can start my diet as well. I keep you guys posted CYWT Recipes.pdf
  12. I'm getting married in Cancun in October of 2011 and my FI and I are thinking of honeymooning in Belize. Belize is near mexico. I've been to belize before and absolutely LOVED it there. We stayed at the bayan bay with some friends. Our friends left and we stayed for another 5 days at the Victoria House. Victoria House is gorgeous and the staff is great. It's perfect for weddings and honeymoons. This time around since it's for our honeymoon we want to change things up. We're looking into Cayo Espanto, Belize. Check it out at www.aprivateisland.com. It's similar to Tahiti but for a whole LOT cheaper. Belize was originally my destination wedding location but figured it would be easier and the least expensive for guest, if we did it in mexico. So mexico wedding it is. but I love mexico too!! Ever thought about Los Cabos? I've heard great things about it and you're already in mexico. I'm looking into Los Cabos as well. Good luck!!
  13. I ordered my kits from www.bottlemeamessage.com On the left hand side of the page, you have menu options to choose from. Click on bottles only & more. Then go towards the bottom of the page, where it says complete kits and click on the Red, click here to order button. You'll have different sizes to choose from and optional add ons to choose as well. I've priced pretty much every message in a bottle website and bottlemeamessage were the most reasonable and they included the parchment paper to print the invitations. The only add ons I did was the response cards and having both the invitations and response cards printed by the company. It wasn't expensive to do but most importantly.... Saved me TIME!! Hope this helps. If you have any further questions or would like some ideas, I can share with you what I have in mind
  14. Congratulations and welcome to the forum!!
  15. Hi Tina, I'm having my 14 year old son walk me down the aisle and I too have the same question. My dad is not in the picture and instead of having my mom walk me down, I'll have my only child, son, walk me down. Everyone thought it was a cute idea.
  16. I'm an October bride as well. I'm getting married on 10/8/11 and I had some concerns about this as well. I checked with my WC and she said that October is the tail end of hurricane season. Therefore, I should have no worries. The riskier hurricane months are August and September. Most of my guest are traveling with children and some of my guest are teachers. This date is accomodating for my guest because it's columbus day weekend and it'll be a convenient time for travel, not to mention less expensive. I think it'll be fine and you shouldn't worry. I agree with everyone else, if it'll make you sleep better at night..... get insurance.
