I confess that I knew when my hubby was going to pop the question. I'll take that one to the grave with me... he thought he was verrry sneaky!

Ha, that's awesome! I've never met another Melaina. And it's GREAT that you have ideas this early -- just imagine how amazing your wedding will be once you get there! Is there an option to move the date closer so you can really get rolling?

Have you travelled to either places in Mexico? I would say that the Riviera Maya is, by far, my favourite place in Mexico. The beaches are white and sandy, the water is beautiful blue and there are so many ruin sites close by. Puerto Vallarta has it's upsides too, though -- might be a shorter flight depending on your location and has the tendency to be cheaper. Also, less hurricanes on that side. Take it for what you will, though. I'm getting married in the Riviera Maya so I may be biased

Well, I bought the dress 13 days after we were engaged We didn't really start rolling until this month, though (about eight months out) because it took *forever* to choose the resort. That was, by far, the most painful step of it all... Things are picking up speed now. We sent out the invitations last Saturday! Happy planning

My plan is fancy flats for the ceremony and then some fabulous Lady Gaga-esque heels for the dinner/dancing. Shoes have proven to be DIFFICULT. Buying the dress was a snap!
