  1. Sita, Magalie, Thanks for providing the salon names. I did see Bisou Bridal online so now I'll also hit Clara and Bello. Can't wait to try on dresses - wish me luck! Planning to visit Vancouver in a few weeks so I'll give the salons a call and book an appointment. Thanks again for providing the information and feedback.
  2. Ladies - I need your help! My mom and best friend insists that they go dress shopping with me. They are currently in Vancouver so it looks like I will need to go dress shopping in Vancouver. Can brides from Vancouver please recommend the bridal salons you went to? Thanks in advance.

I did hear that it's a bit windy- on page 338 of the forum, jmb0902 has a picture where she had to put a plate over her hurricane glass because the wind kept blowing out the candle. So I'm still thinking of ideas for lighting... this website has pretty cheap LED lights, I may need to buy them and figure something out- Cheap LED Party 'Floralytes' $1.34 Wholesale LED Submersible Lights I can picture the day I get married there is no wind... and I purchased these things for nothing lol. I guess better safe than sorry right? AchiCAp0547 - the relaxed pool is quite exposed since there is nothing really surrounding it only a few trees. The children/activity/dolphin pool is a little more protected since there is a wall of columns surrounding it.

Maybe it will be a free option for a covered outdoor reception rather than having to rent out the Seaside Grill. If so, fingers crossed that it is done by November;-) On our site visit in Feb we saw them building the wooden deck as well. They are for private dinners and are meant to fit couples so it's not quite large enough for a reception. The wooden deck is set above the beach so I don't think it will be a private issue since it's meant for dinners and shouldn't be occupied during wedding ceremony times. You may want to confirm with Aurora or your WC.

When you went for your site visit, could you possibly tell me some information on what the "relaxed pool" looks like? I've read some things on this site, but still do not have a good feel for what/where that pool is. Our reception is going to be at the relaxed pool, so I want to make sure there is going to be enough lighting for a 6p-9p reception. And is it terribly far from the Bar? At our receptions, how do we get our drinks? Are there waiters that go to the bar for us? The relaxed pool is sort of between the sugar reef bar and El Patio. This is a link to the resort map: Dreams Tulum Resorts & Spas: Resort Map The relaxation pool is the long rectangle pool toward the bottom of the map. I recall Aurora saying that the reception dinners are typically set up at the end closest to El Patio. There are no lights there so you can either rent lighting from them or if you bring lanterns, they can also help you set up. I'm assuming that there are waiters that will bring guests drinks but I haven't asked. Hope this helps.

  16. We are making one for our elderly guests as well. Planning on including disposable camera, soduku books instead of the hangover kit. Hope this helps.
  17. oh - and one bag per couple means less welcome books to prepare -
  18. Thanks everyone for all the great ideas. Thanks for suggesting 1 bag per couple - makes things much easier and won't look as unbalanced. Now we'll have too many OOT bags - guess I can always use as grocery bags. The disposable underwater camera is a great idea and mp3 player would be cool - are you planning on pre-loading music so that guests can use during the trip? FI also suggested caps for the guys which we may also include.
  19. Hi all, I'm on a shopping spree now for OOT bags, luckily we are only having about 20 people attending our wedding. Do folks typically prepare 1 OOT bag per person or couple? I have bought a lot of cool things for the ladies - flip flops, cover ups, and pashminas but for men, I only have flip flops. My FI suggested caps but that is still fairly small in size and the OOT bags for men (assuming we have one per person) will look lighter than the ladies. What are others doing? Appreciate your thoughts, V
  20. Oh - Thanks so much for the clarification. I guess I should just go to Michael's this weekend and take a look myself. The closest Michael's is about an hr away but I guess it's worth the trip if I'm going to spend $200+ on it. Thanks everyone.

    Cancun Wedding

Welcome John and Ania! You will find a lot of useful information on this forum - check out the wedding reviews section - the brides on this forum are always so helpful. We were in the same boat and after reading all the reviews, we narrowed it down to a few and went to visit a few resorts on our short list and finally decided on the one that worked for us. Have fun planning!
  22. Welcome Tricia! Congratulations! My brother went to Cuba last year and loved it! Don't forget that it's your wedding day, you can always have a separate reception for relatives who couldn't make or go to Cuba for your honeymoon? Either way, enjoy the planning process. Cheers!
