  1. I'll take the single orchids and the maracas! I just PMed you.
  2. Hey Ladies! I am less than 5 months away now, and starting to panic a bit and everything I need to do. I am debating on the OOT bags. I really want to give the guests something, but I am not so sure how useful they would find it. What do you all think? For recent brides with OOT bags, did the guests like them? Are you glad you spent that money? Any suggestions outside of the normal stuff that they really enjoyed? Some people are only coming for a 3 or 4 day weekend, so I feel like some of the stuff won't be useful to them. Maybe it would be better to go with another type of gift...
  3. Hi all! Congrats to all the new MRS!! These food questions have me thinking...When do you give the counts for each entree? I also have gluten free guests. My mom has Celiac's so she really cannot have any wheat. Did you inform them of those type of special orders at the 45 day checkpoint, or did you tell your WC when you got there? I am about to send my invitations out but this made me realize I need people to RSVP with food choices, and I haven't chosen the menu yet!
  4. Does anyone have orange or purple sashes? I was thinking organza but satin could work also...let me know!
  5. Hi all! I did not realize that if you picked up your flowers, you don't have to pay the fee!! Now I want to look into florists, before I figured there wasn't any point if I had to pay $350 on top of it. Any recommendations for florists in Playa? Nicole
  6. These are beautiful, I love them!! Â I am thinking about this DIY invitations, but I am worried about how much it would cost vs. just getting them done. How much would you say it was for you? Â Great job! Â
  7. Thanks Ladies! You've made me more excited. It is actually an Allure dress, but I ordered it with the sweetheart top and bought the sash. Definitely made the dress
  8. Here is my dress! I just got it in and tried it on, but it needs alterations still in the bust and waist. I was so nervous to try it on! But I got the sash with it and I love it.
  9. Hi all, I cannot check back here too often or I'll never finish school ...but when I do I always love catching up! All the recent weddings are beautiful!! Waiting until next may for me seems impossible! I was going to do a legal wedding back in the states b/c I assumed with the costs to translate everything, that it would be cheaper. Now that I'm reading you don't have to translate, it doesn't seem so bad... Recent brides who had a legal wedding in Mexico, is the only additional cost to have it legal the blood work? What other expenses did you encounter?
  10. Amazing review!!! Thank you so much!!! Congrats, you look beautiful!
  11. Thanks for the site! Lady Di, you look amazing! I love the pics!!! As for the Michigan office, she did just volunteer the info. I just called up about chairs! I think she was trying to let me know since we were already on the phone that she would only be my coordinator for a little while longer. I was told that after this week they are shutting down the US office and are going down to mexico to train and set up the new office. We are suppose to be getting emailed then, letting us know about the move and that another coordinator will be taking over. The 800 number will still work for reaching them, but the personal numbers to Michigan will not anymore... Thats all the info I have! Hopefully they will be able to hire more more coordinators down there to share the workload. This could end up being a good thing...or I am just staying positive!!!
  12. Hi all! I am interested in this chair sash site that Lady Di used. Can you let me know what it is? Also, I talked to Angie today. They are dissolving the michigan office and moving it back to Mexico at the end of the week! Did anyone else hear about this?

I think the terrace is a really nice spot, where are you doing your ceremony? If you go with the garden I would go with the garden by the gazebo because it is more private. The other one is right in the middle of the resort and all the guests have to walk by to get to the restaurants and the pool and beach. Depending on how many guests you have I think the terrace is a great choice. Plus you can wear heels because in the garden you def have to do flats or wedge (you will sink right into the ground) Thanks for the advice! The pics would be great, I'll check back tomorrow. We are having around 35, at most 40. Would the terrace work for that size group?
  14. Hi ladies, I have reserved the gazebo for my wedding, and then the gazebo terrace for the reception. Does anyone have pics of the terrace? I am having second thoughts. Perhaps the garden would be better. My FI doesn't want to do the beach, so thats out. Any thoughts, pros and cons, to the locations? Any help from the ladies who did site visits would be great!!! Also, does anyone know the max number of people that can sit inside the gazebo comfortably? Thanks for the help! I tried to email the WC in michigan but you know how that goes...
  15. Hi, I was on the fence about doing this but I think I am sold! You all look amazing. I live in the Philly area, anyone know of a good photographer around here?
  16. Hi ladies! My responses from Angie have been much better lately as well. I am still waiting for her to send me some more menu options though.... If you all have them, can you email them to me please? [email protected] Thanks!!
  17. I tried reading back so I apologize if this was covered before. I'm still deciding between a legal or symbolic ceremony. Right now I'm trying to compare costs. I know blood tests are about $170. Do you know the additional costs beyond that? We both have never been married before, so we don't have to worry about any extra paperwork other than our passports. What I am most confused about is coming home. Does anyone know what the requirements are, once you are married in Mexico, to have the documentation legal in the US? Do you have to have it all translated and apostilled? How much does all of that cost? What are you ladies planning on doing?
  18. Hi all! Congrats on your recent marriages!!! I am getting married next year and I'm trying to figure out if I should do a legal wedding or get married in the states first. I understand the requirements to get married in Mexico, but my question is what you need to do to your documents when you get back and how much it cost. I believe you have to get your marriage certificate translated and apostilled (or whatever its called)? Any help you have would be great!!!! Thanks!
  19. I say use Dr.!! The only reason it "sounds awkward" is b/c its been men getting the advance degrees for too long! It is a societal pressure, just as taking his name is. If Mr. and Dr. makes people uncomfortable, then all the more reason Women are Dr's now too, so I think when it doesn't sound awkward to be a Mr. and Dr., it will be a good day! Still, I do not disagree if someone else would want to do it a different way and go by Mrs. It is a personal choice, so go with what you feel like doing and don't worry about others...just your future husband. You worked hard and it is your title, so if it is important to you, use it, just as he would. I am also a Dr., (Ph.D in Pharmacology), and I plan on using it every single time I can. It was a lot of work!! But my fiance is too, so I guess that means Dr. and Dr. on our wedding day!

  21. Hi! Add me as another 2011 bride! We are getting married on May 7th, 2011 at the Royal Playa del Carmen. I am so excited. I have started looking at dresses, which is so much fun. As for colors, I have always thought red but that doesn't seem very tropical. I do not want to do anything too bright like orange or fuschia. Any suggestions? Also, what are you girls planning for receptions? I want to keep it simple! I am thinking a nice reception dinner, then just going for drinks at the resort and/or going out afterwards. I would love to hear your thoughts and plans!
  22. Hi all, I love this thread, you all look beautiful! I'm looking for some advice. What do you think of these two gowns? Far and Away : Style 878 From AllureBridals.com Private Label By G I love the first one since it is a destination wedding, but I do love the mermaid style too!
