  1. There are reviews of him on here. I searched his name and found a thread on him.
  2. Nicdeb-Where do you live in NJ? I'm from central jersey (princeton area). I ordered my dress and just waiting for it to come it. My STD/Invites went out in January. We aren't supposed to have a outside photog at our resort unless you pay for a room for a night so it's more a hassle to do that. I just booked Ivan Luckie to do my TTD though. He has really reasonable prices it seems. Soon2Be-I've heard of people sharing photographers and it saving alot of money! You just have to find one that is willing to work with you and give you a discount for it.
  3. Chloe-Your pictures are awesome. You look beautiful! Thank you so much for all the great information.
  4. NicDeb-We are date twins. I'm getting married Nov 5, 2010 at Riu Palace Riviera Maya!
  5. Gina-I stayed there last January 2009 and I didn't think it smelled moldy, but you are in the caribbean so it is a little damp for the most part. If you want to avoid the dampness we found that you just had to leave your AC on. For the girls trying to lose those extra pounds. I'm a Registered Dietitian and I think what you are both doing is great with working out and watching your calories. At the end of the day it really is the amount of calories in plus your calories out. The one thing I could suggest is changing things up. If you do the same work-out all the time try something new or if you are eating exactly the same amount of calories or food everyday change it up. Our body likes to be "shocked" every once in a while. Just remember going less than 1200 calories a day in counterproductive because it will actually cause your body to go into starvation mode and slow down your metabolism. There is a great site called Free Diet Plans at SparkPeople where you can record your calories and fitness and it will calculate both. I really like it b/c I cook from scratch everynight and it will even calculate how many calories are in my recipes so I know my calories. Hope that helps!

    RPRM Brides

Welcome, check out the forum Riu RM brides. Im getting married there on Nov 5, 2010
  7. I agree with all of you that it is ridiculous that they are changing these prices. Jen I got the same thing as you. I say that I'm going off on the information that was sent to me. I will take that down there with me and deal with it then. I've decided I am going to go down there in November and play dumb. I'm going to pretend like I've never heard this stuff before. My FI is the best negotiator and he always gets what he wants (or at least partially).
  8. Katie-I would pull out your paperwork and ask where it says this? I have the 2010 information and it doesn't say it anywhere in there.
  9. This $25 charge is def new, b/c the past brides haven't mentioned it. I believe you only have to pay the $25 if you are having your Private reception at Chili's. If you have your private reception at Chili's I believe you can have a buffet and you don't have to pay more. So if you have less than 60 people you will be at Botogo and do not have to pay this.. that's my understanding anyway.
  10. Alexis Thanks for the great review. I was happy to hear that you were able to neg with the photog and that you were happy with his pics. Just wondering how you were able to get the 7pm reception. I know alot of the brides have gotten earlier times. Did you have to bargain for it, pay more or she just offered??
  11. Thanks girls, I think you've convinced me to do it. I wish I could give up only chair bows to pay for the TTD, LoL. I don't know. I know it's a lot of money, but I'm not confident the resort photog is going to be any good.
  12. Adrienne-Welcome! I would think you would have to find out if those flowers are locally carried in Mexico. From what I thought you could only have a choice of local flowers?? Maybe someone that has already married there can give your insight. So I'm having a hard time making a decision. My FI and I are equally both not photogenic! Really, you should of seen us trying to take a picture for our website. So anyway, I"m not really picky on a photographer because of this. I LOVE the way TTD sessions look. I don't want to use the resort photographer for that b/c I'd love to do it at a Cenote. I contacted a outside photog that can do it for me for what I think is a responsible price, but with so many other expenses I can't decide if I should spend the extra money... My FI is no help! What do you girls think?
  13. Congrats and welcome. Getting married at RPRM too, November 5, 2010. Like Jannae said check out our thread you will get so much information from past brides!
  14. Amber-I want to do P90x, but haven't spent the money yet. I think I may invest over the summer b/c going to the gym is going to be harder with the dog and my fiance has his own landscaping business and can't be home for her after work. I'll let you know if I do get it. Also, other previous brides have gone on site visits. I would highly recommend that you make an appointment now with the wedding coordinators at both resorts. I remember one of the brides was going down last minute to do a site visit and didn't schedule with the wedding coordinator in time and she almost didn't have a meeting with her. Jannae-We are so fortunate because we do have about an acre of land. I saw the cutest great dane at the dog park so I was trying to convince my FI to let me get one since we have enough. He just laughed. Guess not!
  15. Jannae- You're right it could happen everywhere. I think when I go back to work I'm going to get a dog walker to let her out. This is my puppy, Dakota. She is 6 months now.
  16. Jannae-OMG he is so cute. Wow that makes me think twice about putting my puppy in doggie daycare. How did it happen? Shelk-Congrats you look beautiful! I think the dark skies made your pictures look awesome. vlvetter7-welcome, this is the best forum. I agree a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it it's great.
  17. Wow that's alot of money per person for a destination wedding. Are you staying at an AI and they are still charging you that much. Unfortunately, I think DW are getting popular and now resorts are upping there prices. Do you have anything in writing saying you can have the $20package?
  18. I heard the same thing that the dresses come out cleaner when you are done the TTD. I'm so indecisive with the TTD, it is really costly to do it and I'm not sure I want to spend the money even though I LOVE the way everyones photos come out. We can't have a diff vendor at our resort so I'd have to find someone just to the TTD . I think purple and yellow would look great esp if it was a deep purple. The yellow would def make the purple pop.
  19. We are doing Turquoise and Silver/Gray.
  20. Congrats! We are getting married at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, you should check out the tread on her about it.
  21. At our resort the wedding coordinator arranges the blood work and comes to you at the resort to have it done. My FI and I are getting married in the states and then just doing a symbolic wedding so we don't have to deal with it.
  22. Welcome and congrats. I'm getting married on Nov 5th at Riu Palace Riviera Maya.
  23. Congrats! We are getting married at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya. Check out the the thread about it. It's really long, but well worth your time to read it!
  24. Getting married November 5, 2010 in Playa del Carmen. I love Siesta Key, was just there in November!
