  1. I noticed by reading the thread that most of you are getting married at your "legal day" before you go to Mexico. How hard is the process to make it legal in Mexico?
  2. No, I'm not officially booked yet. My airfare and hotel rates don't come out until Dec 1st. I have requested my date and just waiting for confirmation on the date. Does anyone know, I wasn't paying attention and I picked the Caprice package when I choose my date. I will likely only need The Royal package though, will this be a problem?
  3. Yes, they have internet. If you bring your laptop it is free. If you don't have your laptop they have a few computers and you can buy minutes to check the internet. I personally didn't bring my laptop, but some people met did and said it worked pretty good for Mexico. I looked up the free wedding, it is only for Riu Palace Mexico. It is for 10 people or less though. Where are you having your reception off site?
  4. Thanks Sammy, I was just under the impression that I could have a reception with the packages. It's kind of disappointing b/c my family and friends love to dance. I may not have the minimum of 50 to even have the private party which will be disappointing. My FI and I went to the disco at Yucatan and Tequila when we were there in January, but to be honest they weren't that great. I have lots of time so I'll figure it out!
  5. I want to thank all of you for all the great information. These are all the little things that I wanted to know. I have picked the date Nov 5, 2010. My 83 year old grandmother is my travel agent (yes she still works). You can imagine that I have no other choice but to go with her, but I was very nervous b/c of her age and lack of experience in DW. Now I feel much better b/c it looks like I have most of the questions answered and she can just book everyones flight! I will take care of everything else since I know all this great info now! I am a little sticker shocked right now b/c I thought having a destination was going to save me money. Unfortunately, we are going to be paying for every penny ourselves and I def had a reality check by reading this. I guess the AHR may not happen. I was looking at a post from two years ago and it looks like prices have gone up significantly for all the extras! Too bad the FI didn't decide earlier to propose.
  6. Mrs March, I believe I'll be getting married the day after you! I picked November 5, 2010!

Thank you so much! I have already found the wonderful thread and read all 145 pages of the thread in the past two days. My FI thinks I am nuts! My FI and I stayed at the Riu RM January 2009 so if anyone has any questions about the resort itself I can answer them!
