  1. It looks like you had a beautiful wedding and a great turn out!!! The cake made me laugh too. But you're right...it's just a cake! and now you have a funyn story/picture out of it
  2. I went with a veil. it was gorgeous and made me feel more like a bride! It was windy though so it didn't last too long...
  3. Wow, Karen, that is quite the planning thread!! Everything looks wonderful. I love the endless.com shoes!!
  4. Oh no, Krista. I am so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how bad you must feel right now. You are absolutely right though, if that is the case and you did miscarry then maybe it did just mean that something was wrong. Please keep us updated and please feel free to vent to us or let us know how you are doing if not many of your friends and family know. We have all become so close and we all care about you!!! Again, so sorry to hear that news.

  6. WHAAA?!?!? So I had to Google it to see what all this business is about. "In 2000, parental leave was greatly expanded in Canada from 10 weeks to 35 weeks divided as desired between two parents. This is in addition to 15 weeks maternity leave. In most situations, a combination of maternity and parental benefits can be received up to a combined maximum of 50 weeks. In Canada maternity and parental leave is paid for by the Employment Insurance system.[4]" What if you're a business owner? It's still paid leave?? If you are searching for where the US falls on the graph you just need to scroll DOOOOOOOOOWWWNNNNNN........

  8. Susie- Ahhh how I've missed the step daughter stories. They always make me laugh. Brooke- UTI's are horrible. Ugh! Hope it's better! Alison- The practice is going great. I'm taking my first pay check on Monday so I'm excited about that. Not a large paycheck, but a paycheck none the less. Don't like working for free! It's been great and Tony is doing all of my book keeping, which takes that stress off of me! He's been doing great and is a big help. Let's me concentrate on the dentistry part. It's so exciting that you are starting yoru own practice as well!! It is great for future baby plans. You get to set your own hours and work as little or as much as you want. I plan to just work 4 days a week so that will give me a lot of time off for my future family. The only sticky situation is going to be maternity leave. Most other women I know that own their own practices take off only 2 or 3 weeks, which is a total bummer, but not much I can do about that. I can't make my patients wait 8-12 weeks with no dental care. I'm hoping to get a temp so that maybe I could take off 4, but most people have their own jobs so there's not a lot available. Oh well, I have time to figure that out I guess. I'm always at lease 9 months away from having to make those decisions! Congrats again!! Chris- Glad to hear that Eric's birthday went well! Can't wait to see your slide show. Ok, I am such a nerd and definitely miss the wedding stuff. Last night Tony and I were watching Modern Family (cracks us up) and they had a vow renewal on the beach and I all of a sudden had tears rolling down my face. Tony looked over at me and said "Are you crying?!?" I said I can't help it. It reminds me of our wedding and it was just so perfect. He just laughed at me and said Yes, it was perfect wasn't it.
  9. Brooke- Sorry to hear that the meds didn't treat you well! How is everything going? Are you showing? I can't believe that you are 10 weeks already! Easy for me to say, huh? Krista- I keep reading your FB comments about the snow and cold weather. I feel so bad for you! It's spring, dangit! Is that how it always is this time of the year where you live? July is coming up, girl!!! Chris- I have been majorly slacking too!! I feel so bad because I was in great shape for the wedding and now I'm just so lazy and eat crappy. The other night it was my turn to host my book club and for dessert I made "Better Than Sex" cake. (name is disputable). It is so good and I've been eating left overs for the past 3 days. It's just drenched in calories. I was invited to a pool party fund raiser memorial day weekend though so I am going to try to hit it hard the next few weeks!! Happy Birthday to your hubby!
  10. Yay, Krista!!! Congratulations!!! I love to hear of all the babies!!! SO exciting. How far along do you think you may be? Chris, that's funny that there's one every month!
  11. Yes, chris I want to see some before and after pics. Brooke, please tell me you're gonna find out the sex?!?
  12. oh well, I guess that's how it goes. The"trying" part isn't too shabby though! It'll happen!!
  13. Krista- Look like you've been busy!!! The dresses look great and I love the t-shirts! Very cute. Love the fuchsia shoes everyone will love them! And way to go on the invites! It all looks great! Chris- I've been thinking about you... any updates for us? Brooke- 9 weeks already?? Let us know how the Dr. appt goes!
  14. Susie- Wine sounds like a great gift!! Sabrina- Good to hear you are doing a little better in the nausea department! I cannot believe that you are already 9.5 weeks along? Have you told your family yet or when do you plan to tell them? I agree don't worry about the pooch too much. As long as you are overeating it's all part of the deal! Chris- Maybe not this month, but I'm still excited for you to find out if it is or is not this time around! I think that you can take it 5 days before a missed period, but the longer you wait the more accurate it will be. You can get false negatives if you take it too early. Keep us updated!! So were any of you girls on BC pills previously? If so, how long did it take for...as Chris calls it...AF to return? I should have started Monday, but this is only month one and I heard it could take up to 3 months to start again. I took a PG test last weekend just to make sure before I went and celebrated my birthday and it was negative, but figure I shouldn't worry too much for the next couple of months anyway. Just wanted to know if anyone else had a similar experience?
  15. Oh no! Sorry to hear that! I loved my pashminas that I received from them and am sorry that you have had problems!!

I sent out Thank you cards with a group picture and everyone liked it! Krista: Sorry to hear about your hand! I must have missed that post. Hope it's doing better! Brooke: Have a great weekend with all of your friends and family!!!! It will be great I'm sure!
  17. We had symbolic and didn't tell anyone! No one knew the difference! We even signed a certificate" to make it look official.

Did you change into a different dress for the disco/reception? I think it was you in a short white one.. and if so I was curious where you got it It's really cute! Thanks! Yes, I had a different one for the disco. I just went to the bridal shop where I got my dress (Mia's bridal in KC) and ordered a bridesmaid dress in white! That was the cheapest way that I found and it was hard to find a short white dress in the winter! I think the brand was Di Vinci.

It was too cold for me to get into the pool unless it was heated. I almost felt like the ocean was warmer than the pools.

I suppose it's our duty, lol I hope you do! I love reading about everyone's weddings!
  21. Thanks ladies!! Quote: Originally Posted by alison15 Wonderful review! Congratulations, everything looked beautiful. Just a question about your hair, I thought it looked great. My hair is horrible in any heat and humidity!!! It usually frizzes right up. The plus side was that it was February so it wasn't as humid as summer. At my AHR my hair was similar and it poured rain all day long and my hair held great. I'm guessing due to the product she used. For the AHR she used Sebastian Re-Shaper as a hairspray. In Mexico it held great too and she used Sexy Hair hairspray. I also used Moroccan Oil on my hair when I was in Mexico and sprayed a little bit of the Sebastian re-shaper on it before I straightened it everyday and it seemed fine pretty much the whole time. We are also talking about taking our, I am worried about the color pink they have not matching everything else we are taking with us. My aunt does flowers, so it works out perfect to take our own. My question is...where did you get the little starfish that is in your flowers? I love that and I would like to find one to use in mine!!! The starfish is from the forum!! Search for the Starfish Passing Thread. It was my something borrowed. My guests loved it and kept commenting on it. Like so many have said before, its not what I thought I'd get but my heart fluttered when I put it on and it has pockets which sealed the deal. sorry for the bathroom pics. Beautiful!! I love your dress!
