  1. Thanks for all of the info! I think we probably will just mention our parents generically. Makes things easier.

I'm leaning toward getting 3...PA-013, PA-09, and PA-19. Just wondering what everyone else's faves were?
  3. I need opinions on a couple of things.... First, do any of you have any wording for the invite for the AHR (one month after ceremony)? Secondly...Here's my situation...parents are divorced, both remarried for over 20 yrs., mom and stepdad just divorced a few years ago. So I have 3 groups of parents. Dad and Step mom helping to pay (the majority) of the AHR. When I send out invites should I... A. Just put my fiance and I's name announcing the marriage...then feel bad that I'm not acknowledging dad and step mom's generous contribution B. All parents (4)...seems silly to list them all since really only dad and step mom paying for the reception. C. Just dad and step mom announce the wedding of ect. ect. ....then feel bad because I'm not acknowledging my other 2 parents. HELP!
  4. Hi Sarah, Congratulations and good luck with all of your planning!! Tricia

If anything, buy a bag of sand that's sandy color (or a color that matches the sand at MP) and play it off as purchased sand rather than Mexican beach sand... you might have to show proof of purchase, like a receipt to customs. Trust me, I wanted to do this too but I'll just settle for color sand. Thanks for the sand ceremony info!! I love the idea of using the sand from the beach as a base. It sounds like maybe I need to look into the legality of that or how well it is enforced. I think we will definitely do one! Our Honeymoon will be at Excellence Playa Mujeres for 5 days after we leave Moon Palace. I'm really excited, but don't know too much about Excellence. If any of you have stayed there I'd love to hear what you think (unless it's really bad...we've already booked it so there's no going back!) Also...So, are there certain excursions that are included at Moon Palace or are all of them extra? I assumed they were extra, but your posts kind of suggested otherwise.
  6. Ok, I have a question that may be dumb, but I really know very little about destination weddings!!....I've noticed some of you talk about doing a "sand ceremony." What is it? What's it's significance? Where do you get the stuff for it? Does it take the place of a unity candle during a traditional ceremony? Thanks!
  7. It is weird that people register for things that they have no intention of keeping. The stores that we registered at even eluded to that idea! We will NOT be doing that. Shellk- you mean you don't want to go to the bars with your veil and phallic straws?!? Haha. Just kidding, I'm with you! I have no idea what I will do for my bachelorette party yet. A couple of my friends are having babies right before that so it may be another good reason for them to get out for the first time in 10 months and have fun!

We were worried about sending out the invites to the AHR too far in advance so decided to send out 2 invites, one being more of a STD/invite. I'm sure I made that explanation much more complicated than it needed to be!! Haha. Here's the ones that have already gone out.
  9. So, my fiance and I finally went and registered this weekend. What a task!!! Did any of you have a hard time finding stuff to register for? I think because we have both lived alone before getting married we feel like we already have "the basics." Someone told us to register for 2x the amount of invites sent out, which would be 320 items! We maybe got 70 and that was stretching it. Any suggestions for registry "must-haves"?

April is fast approaching ..we're just going thru the final stages of booking the travel and not sure I have the time to send out std's. I haven't given too much thought to the website thingy but maybe I should revisit this. We are having a relatively short engagement (6 months) so I didn't send out my STD until 4 months before. My website was completed just before I sent those out so that my guests would have access to all of the information. My website is through Wedding Planning Guide and Free Wedding Websites - mywedding.com It made things very easy!!
  11. Congrats and welcome to the forum!!!
  12. Vdaybride- Your dress is beautiful!! I especially LOVE the train. Gorgeous!

  14. Thanks doblauvelt, I still don't know exactly how this site works, but I can't open attachments yet. I think it's because I don't have enough points?? If there's another way that I could see it...possibly email I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!!
  15. Hi Ladies, Does anyone have any information on the salon at MP? Prices for hair style, specific stylist that I should request, ect?? Thanks!

I'm going to order around 25. I just am trying to decide on colors. I want a variety so am just trying to figure it out. Thanks for organizing this!

I am super excited! A little less emotional now than I was in the beginning. Tears were definitely shed, but it's been a lot better now that we've picked our place and I've decided to stop trying to please everyone else! Our main goal is to have a fun wedding/AHR!! so I try to take it all with a grain of salt (although not always successful I have to admit). I am having fun planning! Each week I try to do a little more. So far...venues booked, STD's sent out, Music for AHR, Caterer, Engagement Pics taken, photographer for AHR booked. Last week I finally ordered my dress. A little behind, I know! I had to have it rushed, but they assure me it will make it on time! This week I got the cake lady reserved for the AHR and met with a lady to design our wedding bands. Next week...AHR invites and centerpieces figured out hopefully. Our wedding in Mexico is going to be very minimal I think. Just the basics and hopefully a lot of fun, while we're at it. It may be a boring wedding to stalk FutureMs.Moulton. In response the the dieting...I have found that I do best with my eating when I write everything down. I hardly ever snack when I do that because I hate to write down "3 dorritos-45 calories". So I have this very crazy "health journal" that has 3 sections: diet, vitamins, and exercise. I try to fill in out everyday to stay on track. I have the template if anyone is interested. I know...it's a little anal, but it helps!! I hope you all are having a great weekend. It's beautiful weather here in Missouri and I am still stuck in this hotel room for work....not fun!!
  18. SusieQ your dog story is hilarious! My fiance and I are total dog people so I can just picture the dog anxiously waiting to be picked up. Stuck in a hotel room for work so a little entertainment is nice! BTW...I'm Tricia and getting married at Moon Palace Feb 26, the day before FutureMsMoulton! We're all getting close!!

  21. Hi Ladies, Thanks for all of the info! I am always getting on here and trying to find some pointers. I thought I'd share something of my own this time. Here are my STD's. I have no idea how big these pictures will show up. This is my first time posting a picture. Next step is the AHR invites...

I haven't decided on anything yet for the reception tables, but if you had something in mind I may be up for trading/coordinating items! Let me know!
  23. Hi Ladies! I am new to this site and excited that there's a Moon Palace 2010 forum! Our wedding will be February 26, 2010 at 2 pm. Our AHR will be one month later on March 27. We have been so preoccupied with the AHR that we are just now to the point that we are thinking about the Moon Palace wedding. Hopefully I'll get some tips here! Congrats to all of you!
  24. Hello, my name is Tricia. We will be getting married 02/26/10 at Moon Palace in Cancun and are so excited!! I love this forum, it always has great info!
