It is expensive! I decided to just do it because I want my guests all together for a dinner afterward, but I do think it's ridiculous! I will probably have between 30 and 40 guests, which is $1600! for 2 hours! I'm not paying for more time though. We're just going to scope out a fun music/dance place when we first get there that we can all hang out at after dinner. Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm still deciding what's going in mine...trying to keep the cost down. The more dollar items the better! So far I'm thinking mine will include: pashmina ($3.5) sodoku book ($1) deck of cards (2/$1) First aid kit ($1) Pepto tabs ($1) ibuprofen ($1) hand sanitizer ($1) SPF chapstick ($1) map of ceremony site and reception directions snacks ($2) personalized welcome/thank you letter tide pen ($1.5) aloe maybe fan, candle for room, sunblock, not sure what else

They are already planning a poker night while we are down there too!

So...what will you do with the bouquet that's included in the free package at MP? Part of my considers just using that one, but still deciding.

My FI got upset b/c I said we should just forget it and go on an African safari, lol! $3600 for 2 people for a week!!!!!!!! I thought August was the low season! I traveled to Russia, China, Mongolia, and Japan for a month and it cost less than 2 weeks at the Moon Palace! My FI insists it wil be okay and not to worry b/c we will get the free room nights (we have almost 10 already) and get at least 4 nights comped but still. I am stressing b/c with the dress, photography, ceremony, and travel fees this is turning out to be an expensive event. It is still not as much as if it would be if we had it in NY, but still.... I am so worried now because that is so much money to ask people to spend. My cousin who is a bridesmaid is not coming now sO I am worried that everyone else will back out b/c of the price. I know his people won't but I am concerned about mine!' If people stay off the resort is there a limit on day passes? Can they only come in the day of your wedding or can they come in whatever day you want? SO MUCH $$$!!! Breath.... I know we've all had our freak-outs! I have guests coming from NY as well and $3600 sounds really high to me. I know my guests aren't paying that much! One thing you might want to look into is Orbitz...our travel agent price matches with Orbitz so whichever price is less, hers or Orbitz, that's the fee we get through her. Orbitz has been cheaper every time because basically when you book through Orbitz for 2 people, one of the flights is free. To me, when you book through the resort the fees are significantly higher. On Orbitz, you are automatically given either a garden view or an ocean view (I was told you either have to look right or left to see the ocean) or you can upgrade to ocean front (you look straight out to see the ocean) for only $11 more per night. We, as well as most of our guests, chose to upgrade for only $11/night!! Most of our guests are going for 6 days, 5 nights for $2300-$2400 for ocean front plus transfers. Even the ones coming from NY are paying roughly this same price. The downside (which does suck!!!) is that since you are not booking through the resort, as far as I know, you don't get the group discount promotions like the free cocktail hour. We felt that we would rather have each couple save $3-400 by booking through our travel agent at Orbitz fees then get a free $6-800 cocktail hour. We would rather pay more than having our guests pay more (or just forgo the cocktail hour since we are at an all-inclusive resort!) It's at least something you should look into if they are quoting you $3600!! That's way too much and you can definitely get it cheaper!

EcoFriendly Confetti Biodegradable White Confetti 4 quarts for $6.99 (150 scoops) I wanted to know if they would let us throw it cause it looks really fun-- this site also has REALLY reasonable freeze dried roses to throw! Ooohh...I'll have to check that out! I hadn't really thought of what they might throw, but if they have a good price on the rose pedals that sounds great! BTW...I got an email from my WC...Angelica. I'll have to read past posts to see what everyone has to say about her, but I am glad to finally have a contact!!

Tan thru suit? I've never heard of that. I checked out VS website and saw some cute bandeau-type tops on there too. I think I'll probably go with one of those too! (I usually avoid those because I need some major "lift" and those don't really do it for me, haha.) My fiance's whole body welted up and pealed last summer when we went to Cancun. I'm going to be following him around with some majorly high SPF block so it doesn't happen this time!

I had my travel agent call the Miami office today and they said that wedding coordinators are not assigned until 60 days out (although they previously told me 90 days) and I will receive a call then. What the heck?!? So, she asked why other brides were in contact with someone already and she said they will be contacting me in the next couple of days. We'll see.... It's really not a huge deal, but I just want a contact to reserve a gazebo and terrace.

Sooo...dumb questions maybe, but have any of you thought about swimsuit lines that you may get in the days before your wedding? Just putting on the SPF 100? or have some good make up to cover up the strap marks?? I'm going to try to minimize my redness, but I'm not avoiding the sun since we're gonna be at the beach!

We have a TA who arranged that if we have guests that in total stay 75 days we get a free wedding etc. However, most of our guests are trying to do the booking themselves bc the prices are somewhat on the high side. Most of our geusts are tryign o use orbitz, expedia.. etc. We think it should count for somethign, since the only reason why they are staying at the resort is due to our wedding. Basically we are helping their resort make money, and they are not doing anything for us or for our guests to accommodate their expenses. frustrated bride to be Ours is the same way...we have 15 rooms booked so far and will probably receive nothing. It is frustrating. It's also weird to me that some of you are in contact with your wedding coordinator and have weddings months after mine and no one has contacted me yet or returned my emails. I don't think I have too much to plan for down there, but it still would be nice to have a contact.

Oh yeah, and we just got done reading Prospect Park West. Probably the dirtiest book I ever read! I felt guilty reading it!

I also love to read!! My friends and I decided to start a book club about a year ago...basically a reason to get together more often and read some good books that we otherwise wouldn't have. Then we sit around eating junk food and chatting. Our favorites so far have been... -The American Wife- we LOVED this book!!! -The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society -Water for Elephants I also love The Firday Night Knitting Club and the other 2 Kate Jacobs' books. We are getting ready for The Lovely Bones movie to come out so as an extra we are reading that one now. Our next book club selection is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo so I'm looking forward to starting that one! The one that the other girls absolutely loved, but I though was "just ok" was Time of my Life by Allison Winn Scotch. Definitely Chick lit. She actually called into our book club to discuss the book. My FI calls us nerds, but we LOVE it!!
