  2. we're tipping the WC at our meeting, we will tip the DJ and the bartender after depending on the service. but from the reviews I've read, they do a great job so I'm already budgeting for this. also ladies, don't forget your spa service providers as well (hair, nails, make-up massage, etc.)
  3. Hi Nathan. My fiance is from Manchester welcome to the forum, good luck with the planning!
  4. like the idea, but never done it..maybe this year secret santa?
  5. yeah, I've written ours and really want to use them, but I don't know how it would go. I'm a little nervous b/c that's a complaint I've seen on the forum (you can't understand the person or they don't read English very well). We have family coming from three different countries and I really want them, and us, to understand the vows. Also, do they have you sign the certificate even if it was a symbolic wedding? We're getting married here first. Thanks for all the help!!
  6. hi Maria, I have another question: did you use their vows or did you write your own? what did you think about this part of the cermony?
  7. hi ladies I searched the thread and found some info on the vows, but I had another question. Did any of the recent brides use the symbolic vows given by Dreams or did you write your own? If you did write your own, how did it go, i.e. could you understand what was said, did it seem like the person was just reading a script or did they practice it? Do you think it's better to hire an outside person for this? Thanks ladies!
  8. hey mel, everything is beautiful! quick question, did you write your own vows or did you use theirs?
  9. I would mention the family shower and let the conversation lead to what you said..."here's the guest list I have". I understand that everyone has things going on in their lives, but I'm a firm believer that when you accept the invite for being a BM, you accept the responsibilites as well!!

I've been to several weddings and never heard of this...weird! well I'll have to take some ideas from you ladies, it's crazy how much you learn from this forum
  11. congrats to all the Nov brides and coming Dec brides!!! Can't wait to see reviews!!!
  12. hey ladies, I was wondering if we still get banners for full member, senior, etc. not a big deal but I would love one if it's still done, thanks!!
  13. yay!!! FI and I bought a condo last October and I love that it's "our" home! so excited for you...good luck!!!
  14. wow!!! I hope everything is ok now. Do you have kids? He needs to work on his attitude ASAP b/c when the time comes, you'll be doing everything, since that's "your job". He needs to help you with stuff when you ask because you need a supportive partner. I would definately get this sorted out, don't let it go.
  15. hi, good luck with the planning. you'll find great info here!
  16. Ok ladies, I'm completely lost. I love all of these ideas, but I don't understand the background. There are games played at the reception to make the couple kiss? Is this throughout the whole reception or at certain times? I don't get it, help!
  17. so glad you went with the dress, it's very stylish and the fushia accents will give it a great pop!!
  18. Zuri, zuri, zuri!! I love my dress!!! I wanted something soft and flowy but that still had structure and great fit. The body of the dress is still chiffon, but it has amazing boning that gives you a great hourglass figure. I can't say enough about this dress it's GORGEOUS!!! Unfortunately, I got so wrapped up in the excitement I forgot to take pics, oopps. Mine doesn't come in until Feb, but when it does I'll definately post some. Good luck!
  19. Hi angelina welcome and congrats!! My biggest advice (what i've learned throughout this process) is to worry about you and your FI first!!! You will never be able to stay within everyone's budget. I had the same issue, fell in love with a resort, but it was a bit pricier than the others we visited and I was really torn. My FI finally reassured me that although we would love to have everyone come, it was about us in the end and its something that we will remember forever! I'm so glad we booked our resort, it's gorgeous!! Good luck!
  20. I agree, it'll rain for a bit and then dry out. when you check with the rain plan, ask how flexible they are with the time frame. if it's cloudy or raining around your ceremony time, will they push it back and wait our the rain? don't worry too much, I know it sucks, but think positive!!!
