  1. Oh I hope everything works out for you! Putting out the positive vibes for you!!
  2. TeNeil, I would wear it at the AHR - I think any woman would love to have another chance to wear their dress again! Most of the ladies that have posted on "post your dress" have stated they will be wearing thiers at their AHR. Im not having an AHR due to the fact everyone is coming from everywhere -and if I did have one - maybe I will change my mind - I dont plan on wearing mine as Im sure ours will be just a huge party. Way more casual I think. You should wear it! I would!
  3. Thanks for your input ladies. I feel much better now not having to think about getting another dress. It took long enough to narrow it down to that dress, let alone pick another one. Thank you for all your kind words too! I dont know what I would do without this forum!! lol
  4. Hello Ladies, I was planning on wearing my wedding dress to the dinner after pictures were taken, but have seen a lot of ladies on here posting about their reception dress. I am not having a large wedding - 20-25 people and bc we dont have a large guest roster, we are going to have the dinner in one of the restaurants instead of a ballroom or beach dinner. So do I need a reception dress or can I wear my wedding dress there too? I'll attach a picture of the dress to see if that helps at all. The dress is very simple but elegant I think. Not a great picture of me, but it will give you an idea of what Im talking about. Thanks for your help yet again..... [/img]
  5. Congratulations and happy planning. This site is amazing and the ladies on here are fabulous in helping in any way they can. This forum has so much information and so many great ideas - you'll be hooked!
  6. I really like #1 and #4 and I dont think they make your feet look wide at all. No one is going to look at your feet and say - wow her feet are wide......lol....I think its a really nice touch and you should go with your gut feeling. I was planning on going barefoot entirely, until I saw your lvoely feet...thanks for the idea and I hope you have an easier time deciding.
  7. I'm using a fake flower and I am planning on ordering from etsy.com - thye have a great selection
  8. One last try otherwise I guess Im not getting this picture up on here!
  9. If its your dream dress, then you have to wear it. You are going to be hot, thats a given, especially with anything like a hoop or crinloin, however you can buy certain talcum powders that you can put on your legs to help with perspiration. At my first wedding my legs were so hot and my legs were dripping at times due to the heat, but once my gf told me about using the talc powder I was a little better off. Maybe just plan to have a reception dress thats a little airier so that you wont roast the whole day. Its a beautiful dress and Im sure you'll look wonderful in it. Enjoy bc the day goes by soooo fast - in a blink of an eye!
  10. Its still a destination wedding ...your in a place that no longer looks like AZ, doesnt feel like arizona and you love it. So you dont have to fly somewhere like the rest of us, but you could still consider it a DW. I dont think anyone will disagree with you. Look at it this way, atleast you dont have to worry about not getting emails back from your WC, you dont have to worry about cutoms, how your going to get all of you decorations and dress down there.....lol....you'l be laughing! Just bc this is a DW forum, everything can still apply to your wedding too. Except for maybe a few subforums...who cares. Have fun and congrats on finding a new place and following your heart and not sacraficing the importance of both of your families.
  11. Congrats and welcome. It takes a little to figure the forums out and which ones to subscribe to. I started out by talking to my TA and gave her a price range I wanted to pay and then she gave me a print out of hotels that I could afford. Then she gave me all the brochures from the different travel groups and I started there. Once I had narrowed down my choices to about 10 resorts, I then went on trip advisor and started narrowing down again. I did also take into consideration which resorts offered wedding as well, bc some dont. Once you have it narrowed down to a couple, then start researching info on here about those acutal resorts...otherwise you will def feel overwhelmed. It took me about 2 weeks to get my search down to 2 resorts and even now I am still not totally sure which resort I want - but I am leaning more towards one. Be careful and read all the fine print about resorts offering free weddings, its not always as it seems. Just rememeber to have fun and take the trip advisor reviews with a grain of salt - sometimes there are no pleasing people - no matter what. The ladies on here are great and will help you in any way they can. They have already helped me so much and Im still somewhat new! Enjoy and congrats. If i can help you out, let me know and Ill do my best or find someone that can help you!
  12. Wow - Im glad everything worked out for you...one less thing to worry about for sure!
  13. I love Dress #4 due to the fact it looks like a great dress for DW in the sand. It looks nice and light and breezy and its a beautiful dress. Im a bit bias though bc my dress is similar to yours. Keep in mind a few things, if you got hot in any of these dresses at the bridal store, then you might want to rethink those dresses as you were prob in an air condidtioned store and you still were hot - can only imagine what you would feel out in Hawaii. Two, as you said, lace might be a little difficult due to the sand. Is your wedding formal or informal? I always like to see brides have a dress that goes with what type of wedding their having. Its kinda weird to see a formal wedding dress at an informal wedding on the beach. Everyone is so comfortable and dress casual and then you have the bride who looks uncomfortable, hot and done up more then the location. Just my thoughts. But all the dresses are beautiful. Good luck with your decision. You will be a beautiful bride no matter which dress you pick - they are all fantastic!
  14. Thanks everyone for your input! I feel a lot better now and wont stress about that one anymore. I Love this forum! Dont know what I would do without out you all!
  15. Thats a great idea....I think the kids are a great addition to the TTD occassion, especailly bc they mean so much to you. They will love that!!! Have fun and post some pics!
