  1. I'm sure someone has already posted this, but in case you haven't seen it yet....I just bought a 100 pack of Tylenol Extra Strength for my OOT bags at Sam's Club. It is a box of 50 packages (of 2 tabs each) for $8.69 which I thought was pretty good. I had seen it online for about the same, but with shipping it would be more expensive.
  2. Last August we stayed at Coconut Cove to see if we wanted to have our wedding there because they had great reviews and the pictures that I saw online looked amazing. We stayed one night and enjoyed their pool with the waterfall! It's a nice place, and they do an excellent job decorating it for weddings, but we decided on the Islander instead. The people who work there are really friendly and helpful. The grounds were a little different than I pictured. The beach is better at the Islander in my opinion. I also didn't like that they don't have restaurant/bar there. In my rough calculations they were about the same price so I went with the better beach and the tiki bar! : )
  3. Awww, what a sweet idea!! That is something they will treasure!! Good job!!
  4. Wendy!!! I bought it too!!! I really do love it! It's just so different and I LOVE the pockets!! It will be so much cooler than some of the dresses I tried on. I am debating about shoes right now. I think I want to do the ceremony barefoot with the barefoot jewelry (if you haven't seen it, check out ladybead.com) and then get some cute beachy sandals for the reception. I saw some with little heels with sparkly starfish on them.
  5. I am 99% sure I am purchasing this today, have already tried it on multiple times and really like it because it's different and very comfortable!! I am going to have the crinoline taken out so it's not so poofy! : ) David's Bridal - Strapless Faille Gown with Sweetheart Draped Bodice
  6. Beautiful bouquet! Thanks for sharing the picture! I have put down a deposit with Floral Fantasy so I am excited to hear that you were happy with them. Debbie seems really nice!
  7. inanna - Congrats on your marriage! Thanks for the info. I bet it was a beautiful wedding on the private estate. I may call Susan, do you mind me asking how much she charges? I have contacted a couple of the people that the Islander suggested, but their fees were outrageous . Especially since the ceremony is only going to last 20 minutes! And I thought it was strange that they didn't really want to come to the rehearsal? They were going to charge an additional $200 to come to that. For hair I did call both Blu Bamboo and Ciao Bella. Just by talking to them over the phone, the owner of Ciao Bella seemed really friendly. She gave me lots of information and let me know I could find them on Facebook and see what people were saying. Any other helpful tips that you may have would be great! Thanks!
  8. IslamoradaBride - Can you tell me how you picked your Reverend/Officiant/etc for your wedding ceremony? I am having a hard time finding people. We are not super religious so we aren't really picky on who we use. Also, who did you have do your hair? I talked to Ciao Bella Salon and they were really nice, but just wondering who you used. Thanks for your help!
  9. We like the Clearwater area a lot so we are down there often to get out of the cold! : ) How nice of a hotel are you looking for? It's kind of pricey, but the Sandpearl is really nice! We have never stayed there, but have had drinks a couple of times. I really liked the beach bonfire area. Here is the website if you want to take a look: Clearwater Resorts: Sandpearl Official Site Clearwater Beach Florida FL Tampa Bay Gulf Coast St Petersburg area luxury oceanfront hotels spas conference centers meetings event facilities family vacations packages romantic weddings
  10. Inanna - Could you tell me how you picked a Reverend/Officiant to do your ceremony? I am having a hard time finding suggestions. We are not super religious so not really picky. We are getting married at the Islander in Islamorada this July. Also, did you have your hair done for your wedding? Any suggestions on that? Thanks!!
  11. Hey girls! I like both of those ideas! Can you tell me where you got the necklaces and the chairs? Thanks!
  12. Hmmm, I don't know if I uploaded this correctly. I love my bridesmaid dresses, I wanted something tropical and different. I found these at David's Bridal for $99 so I was very happy with the price also.
  13. Not sure if this will work, but I'm trying to post a pic for the first time on here. http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...maiddress1.jpg
  14. Well, the only one who has responded to this date (19th) is JenniB, so maybe we could change the date. Will you only be in town on the 21st? I don't think I can do it on the 21st, but maybe the 22nd or 23rd? What do you girls think?
  15. I would be interested in the cantaloupe lanterns when you are finished with them!
  16. Thanks guys! I was so nervous to put it on the STD's since I didn't know if I had everything on there that I needed. I used mywedding.com and was really pleased. I thought that their website builder was a little easier to navigate than some of the other sites. I know, I love that we got our engagement pics taken at our wedding site!! I got a couple of recommendations for photographers and then just booked the cheapest one to do the epics and figured if I liked them, then I would book them for the wedding! Luckily we were very happy with them so we got that check off our list early!
  17. I feel your pain and I am not even having my wedding outside the US! But you would think I am with the grief I am getting from having it in Florida. I just don't get it!! For example, I was in Target yesterday and ran into a good family friend. She asked how the wedding planning was going and I said great and then made the mistake of saying, "hope you guys can be there." She then started calculating the cost of the trip (out loud like "at least $500 for airfare and at least $400 for the room) and was just like "you know that's quite a bit and I just don't know if we can do that." Wouldn't it have been nicer to just say, "I hope so too" and leave it at that!! So then I felt bad! But then this same person goes to Mexico once or twice a year. Why don't you just be honest and say, I would rather not spend my money on a wedding, we have other things planned. I don't care anymore, well obviously I do since I am venting! : ) It just makes me mad because I feel this is like will be a fun vacation for people. I would love it if one of my friends were to have their wedding in a tropical location!! I mean, I have travelled all over for weddings (some really boring) and haven't complained! Ughh! Anyway, I completely understand how you feel!!
  18. Well, it's not completely done, but I think it's close!! Tell me what you think, anything else I should add? I want to change the about us part and put some more pics on there. The picture on the main page is what I used for my STD postcard. That's the beach we are getting married at in Florida. Joseph & Christina - wedding website by mywedding.com
  19. I think dark and light jean shades are fine. For our engagement pics I wore a dark jean skirt and he wore light colored jeans. We both wore white shirts though. I think you will be fine.
  20. Okay I don't know if anyone is still on this thread or not but how about Thursday, November 19th?? Anyone want to meet up?? If we can at least get a date planned then we can figure out what would be a central location for those who can attend. Let me know what you think!
  21. It is great! How do you go about ordering one of these if you don't know any graphic artists?? : ) And about how much does it cost to have one created?
  22. Hey guys, just joining the conversation now! I would love to meet up! I am getting married July 10, 2010 in the Florida Keys. My wedding is not as far away as most of yours, but it's still not easy to plan from here! : ) Ok, so hopefully you guys haven't met yet or are looking to meet again!! Christina (stina76) - live in Westmont, work downtown. Open to meet anywhere since I work in a school and I get out early! : ) Heather (hockeymom97) - live in Hoffman Estates, but would probably be driving from work in Buffalo Grove. Kelly (kellynadam2010) I live in Bartlett, probably coming from Lombard Jessica (future mrs. griffith) I live in Naperville, work downtown Chicago
  23. Hey July Girls!! Name: Christina FI Name: Joe Wedding Destination: Islamorada, Florida What made you choose this destination? We met in Florida and love to vacation in the Keys! Wedding Date: July 10, 2010 What made you choose this date? It's 11 years after we met there in college!! Have been dating ever since! Not even one breakup!! : ) Plus, I work in a high school and it's easier for me to do it in the summer. Funny how a lot of us are are in education in this group because of that! Have you decided on your wedding colors? If so, what are they? I'm thinking different shades of orange What is something unique about your wedding? Hmmm, not super unique, but trying to go with a travel theme. Tell us anything else about yourself and/or your wedding: We met 11 years ago while we were both doing internships at Walt Disney World in Orlando. We have been together longer than most of my friends and family! Haha! We like to take our time!! ; )
  24. Leslie - Would you mind telling me what info you put on the back of your postcard. I am planning on doing something similar for my STD with one of the engagement pics and can't decide how much info I should I add. I can't really see what information you added to the back, but it looks great! I am not getting married out of the country, but it's still far for most of my guests. I don't know if I should go ahead and add the hotel information (name and price) or save that for the invites? Anyone else, thoughts
