  1. Hey, Welcome to the forum and congrats!!
  2. Welcomd to the forum and congrats. Picking the place is the hardest part of the process. The reviews on here are really helpful, if it wasn't for them I would probably be still trying to decide! I got married in Puerto Vallarta and we had no seaweed!! Good luck with you planning!
  3. Hi Marak, I didn't have my wedding there but I have been there and it is absolutely beautiful. Convincing people to come might be tough but once they got there i'm sure they would love it! Good luck with your plans.
  4. Welcome and congratulations! I'm sure you will find all the info you need in this forum.
  5. Hey, I went to the wall mart in PV for the snacks for our OOT bags. I actually didn't really find what I was looking for. I wanted to get one or two cans of pringles per bag as well as some chocolates and candy. When we went to walmart they only had the single serving pringles and only in sour cream and onion. Also the chocolate and candy selection were not what you would find at a wal mart in Canada or the US. They did have a lot of selection but i was not familliar with a lot of it. We did also go to costco when we were in PV but not until after the wedding and the candy and chocolate selection was more like what you would find at home. You can definately get stuff there and save some room in your suitcase! Good luck!
  6. Hi Laides I just got back last night from our wedding and amazing honeymoon. I'm working on a review and will post it soon. Just wanted to say we had a wonderful time and our guests loved the resort.
  7. I had to book dinner for the early seating. Our ceremony is at 3 so I thought it might be a little long to wait for dinner until 9:30. Hopefully they won't rush us too much!

Welcome! It is a lot of work but it will be worth it!
  9. Hey Melissa, Our weekend was great, we both loved the grounds and the architecture - it is so beautiful. On the downside we didn't get to meet Jessica cause she had an accident and wasn't working. (We were told it was nothing serious!) But we did meet Kay for about 10 minutes. And we were a little disappointed in the food on the resort but we have decided to go with the Brazilian restaurant, even though we didn't get to try it! But overall we were very pleased and now we just want to get down there and get married!!
  10. Hey SheriB, I definately picked the resort first, but I picked the resort based on the average price of a room per night. I didn't want to pick a place that none of my guests could afford so that was a key factor for me. I also didn't go with a travel agent because I knew that I would have some guest come for a week and some for the weekend and I liked the idea of people being able to find the best deal they can. Happy Planning - and don't worry once you have decied on a resort it gets easier!!
  11. Hey alberta bride, I'm actually getting married at the Riu Jalisco on Dec. 5 and I just got back from a site visit. The grounds of the resort are absolutely beautiful and I'm very happy with my selection. There are some down sides (the food was not as good as I had hoped, compared to another Riu i stayed at in the Bahamas) but over all I'm happy with my choice. This forum is a great resource and it helped me make my decision. I read all the posts about the resorts that I was interested in and narrowed it down from thier. I think the Wedding reviews are very helpful. I also read the trip advisor reviews but I think you need to take all review's with a grain of salt, what bothers some people may not bother others. Good luck with picking your venue!!!
