  1. Hi Ladies! FYI - my dress is finally complete! I sent in two rounds of changes and got the last set of pics yesterday. I have paid up and they will be sending it off! Â I am pretty happy with it - my one issue is that you can see the seam above the gathers at the waist. But I know I can get my mom to sew the gathers so they cover it along with whatever other adjustments are needed - I just want it here! Â Here are the final pics: Â Â Â Â
  2. I dont think you would have to pay the resort DJ if you aren't using him. I think NegrilB used the eqiupment and her own DJ so I would ask her. Go to her wedding review in the 'old' wedding reviews section and post the question to her. She's very responsive. Â
  3. I agree with everyone else in waiting to book. The best time I think is about 6 months before. We booked about 5.5 months before leaving and my guests are paying $1304 w/tax & air for the Beach hotel. We fly from Toronto with West Jet. West Jet has flights everyday from Toronto - Montego bay, so don't worry about planes selling out

  9. This is the first actual videographer I've seen in Jamaica - can I ask what he quoted you?
  10. This is wonderful information - saves me the headache of making them! I asked for 50 and she asked me to come pick them up as that was too many to send out oh well, guess that next time I'm in the city I'll stop by...
  11. Hey Everyone - incase you didn't see it there is a thread for all the Iberostar Rose Hall Brides. Better to keep everything in one place for easier planning  http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/thread/34054/iberostar-rose-hall-brides-post-all-info-questions-here

  15. Gosh, thanks Tina. It doesnt feel like I've accomplished a lot, although I'm sure I have  I am doing OOT bags, I've already got alot of customized items and print items done (beach bags, tide-to-go, bottle openers, travel sewing kits, postcards and bookmarks) I'd like to add a few of those small packs of immodium/tylenol/etc, some bug spray, a beach ball and the welcome brochure... which I still have to do.  I've seen lot sof the mexico brides use them, but I don't think I've seen many JA brides - try searching 'parasol riu' in the 'old' wedding reviews sections, there are a TON of ocho rios riu brides and I'm sure someone must-of used parasols!
  16. I think you should get both Cindx, and maybe while you are PMing Kathie you can ask her to confirm with DWbridetobe that shipping will work out? Lemme know how it goes. Thanks!
  17. Hi Asheeki, Thanks so much for that driver's information - getting to the ziplining was another concern I hadn't solved yet so I will definitely be giving him a call. Thanks!   Hi Tina, We will do our rehersal dinner at one of the resort restaurants - nothing special really! My guests seem to want to have 'their own time' for their vacation, so I'm not planning much for them except the one outing. I do plan on giving them all information on different outings though, and better pricing/contacts than I'm sure the resort has. It will be in my welcome brochure.  sounds like you have definetly figured out most of the big stuff! Especially for a wedding in May! I leave in less than 3 months and I still have these big things to do:  1) finish the invites (STDs went out a long time ago) 2) pick out GM clothes 3) BD shoot (do it? dont do it?) 4) Eshoot! (date has been re-scheduled 3 times cuz of weather - arg!) 6) create my honeymoon registry 7) order wedding bands! (I need to give them my Ering so they fit together and I need to wait till after the Eshoot to do it! Arg!!) 8) book group excursion  plus about a million other little things. Get as much done as possible in the beginning ladies. Its NEVER to early. Â
  18. Hey Tina, Â I'm not having a beach party, just doing the rehearsal dinner for the bridal party and were taking all my guests on an outing. Probebly ziplining! Luckily I have a pretty adventurous group - even my 76 year old Grandmother just finished 'adventure camp' in Vancouver where she did trapeze, rock climbing, etc. Shes Awesome. Â I thought about a beach party or incorporating a bonfire at the reception, but I don't think we'd have time for it anyways. Music and excessive noise has to be shut-down on the beach by 11pm as per Jamaica by-laws. Â It was awhile ago that I was looking at the resort music situation - but I seem to remember that most of the brides did the Ipod thing, which I didn't want to do. I think one bride used the DJ and was not happy at all - but that might have been another resort. lol.
  19. Really? I didn't see their refferal on there! That's fabulous, I'm so glad I chose him. I've seen a lot of good reviews about sungold and their work really speaks for itself. I'm sure you have no worries there! And you're right, that they recommend Kevan says a lot.
