  1. Â I'm having the same issue with my bridesmaids. I'm not picky on what shoes they wear, just as long as they aren't white and somewhat go with the colour scheme. A lot of them didn't shop early enough even though I offered to take them shopping and buy the shoes as part of their gift! Oh well, I honestly dont care much. Â I got mine JUST at the end of summer for a great deal. You'll find lots online, shoes shopping on line is pretty crappy because you can't try em on but at least you can find stuff! Try Zappos, they have free returns for US addresses. Â
  2. D14 - I think a V shape would look really nice - but really its up to you! Either way it's still beautiful!
  3. I am sooo getting excited Wendy! (Do you mind if I call you that? Your username is really annoying to type, lol!)  Every time I look at my To-Do list I wanna barf. But I AM getting through it! Not as quickly as I'd like, but I'm treading water!  I've put my deposits down on the flowers and DJ this week, and sent my design for my wedding band to the jewellers. I am doing my engagement photo shoot on Monday - eek! So I've been spending oodles of cash getting myself all primped and primed for that. lol  How is everyone else doing with their list?
  4. Â Why not wear wedges? The heels wont sink and you'll still get height. Thats what I'm doing. Â
  5. Hey Princess, Â Ya, they actually dont have a wedding coordinator right now! I have spoken with 'Tamika' and she hasn't been very helpful. I am slightly freaking out because I saw on trip advisor there was a bride who got married there in June and said she had a horrible wedding - I sent her a message to get more deets so I'll let you know once I hear from her. Â I have a friend who is getting married there in like two weeks - she said she had to call repeatedly for over a week to get her 'final package' and she JUST got it like 3 weeks before her date. In the package it specifically says they need all the info for the marriage license atleast one month before the date or it might not be ready for your ceremony! She is not impressed. She's having a huge wedding there with about 100 ppl, you'd think they'd be more on the ball! I'm praying everything goes well for her - she leaves in about a week. I will let you know her report once she returns. Â I am hoping that they get a wedding coordinator soon! I know that resorts typically have a skeletal staff in the summer since the high season is the winter, but I also know they've been having labor issues there. I think its just a temporary issue really. There are still alot of positive reviews going up on Trip Advisor. I too need the measurements for the tables and about a cajillion other things. I'll definetly be monitoring the situation as I'm only 3+ months away from my wedding. I'll keep ya posted an you do the same please
  6. Ashlee, enjoy Maui!!! Woot woot! Â Hi D14! The main issue I see is that it looks like they either didn't put a layer of that chiffon over the bodice (the bust/wait area) or only put one layer - making it seem much lighter than the rest of the dress. I would ask them to put an extra layer of the chiffon over the bodice and to try match the colour of the skirt better. I would also definetly ask them to lower the back - it will look much nicer. I asked for ALOT of changes to mine and they had no issues! Don't be afraid to ask for what you want!
  7. Great Job wnmrtn8! They look awesome
  8. Nevermind - I asked Lisa and she said that her florist did not have to buy a day pass. She also said her florist was in contact with her WC during the planning process and that might have helped. Just posting this info for other brides who may be wondering
  9. Hi Lisa, Â Question for ya - did you have to buy a day pass for your florist to come in and set up your tables?
  10. Happy 8shlee - Your gown looks GORGEOUS! Great choice, I think it looks very flattering on you! Â Â FYI ladies - Heard from Gianinar today. Turns out the dress was plenty long enough, even with the 4"heels. So they are working on my final changes and will be sending it off as soon as their done! Â
  11. Â Hey Princess, Do you know if they charge the day pass fee for your florist? Mine will drop of the bouquets earlier and come back and set up the reception centrepieces...
  12. Thanks everyone, I sent them an email about the length, and a few other things. Good thing my Mom's a designer, she took one look at the photo and knew what had to be done. I'll keep ya posted!
  13. I havent yet but will probebly order them online - from lunabazaar.com or paperlanternstore.com
  14. Who's getting Married next? Maybe they can take a stroll to the beach stalls beside the resort and see if they sell anything like that. I will take a look for you while I'm there Just as a back-up plan. I'm sure they'll make it there fine!!
  15. Jones - I dont think lanterns are too big a hassle - unless you meant glass ones... paper ones fold flat and are much easier. Mrs.Smith - WOW you are brave bringing your glass centerpieces with you! I hope they make it there ok! If you pack them well I'm sure they'll be fine Good luck!! Â My florist is doing my centrepeices, I'll also bring some lumieres and paper lanterns with me though.
  16. There was a thread for the Grand somewhere in the Jamaica Section of the Forum, but I think most of us IRH girls just all communicate here, since if there was one for all 3 of the hotels, we'd have hardly anyone to get info from! I'm getting married at the 'Beach' resort, but I still find all the info here very helpful. So don't be shy about posting questions about the Grand here!! The more info the better!
  17. Ya, But I'm wearing 4 inch heels, and told them that too. You may be right though jszy10, the dropped waist might be doing it. I'm going to ask how long it is from under the bust to the hemline. That'll tell me if its the right length. Thanks for the dress love though!
  18. Hey Ladies! I got my pics from Gianinar for my TTD! It looks pretty good! I'm quite happy with it but am a bit concerned that it looks short! I'm about 5'5"... I don't like that the front isn't touching the ground there... Also I wish I could see the drapey-off-the-shoulder straps. I want to make sure they drape on my shoulder and not hang straight across. So I'll be asking them about both those things. Here are the pics I sent.

  20. Hi Jen! I never saw your review!! Where is it?? BTW - your pics are Awesome! I LOVE your Loubs! Is that the WC steaming your dress or did you bring a steamer?
  21. Lucky for me, my Mom is a designer/dressmaker and I've always known since I was little she would be making my wedding gown. I've been designing it in my head since then and I will get exactly what I want with the highest quality materials without having to pay for her 'name' to be on it. But being the daughter of a designer also means that I know quality, and I love fashion, and would never be able to pay $2k for a polyester dress. If I didn't have my Mom, I'd be buying high-end for sure.
  22. Good for you for getting it done! Sounds like you have an insane schedule! I actually postponed my schooling until after the wedding cuz I already work full time and have my own part time business and with school part time too I was sooo busy. I knew for this fall semester, I was going to take a break and focus on the wedding! Hahaha I still have years and years of school to do anyways so an extra semester off wasn't gonna screw me over.
  23. Hey Guys! So I buckled down and did it! The wedding invites are ALMOST done. I'm a graphic desinger so designing them myself wasn't too bad. I'm just really picky and hate doing the math for the measurements of invites/pocketfolds/envelopes/RSVP inserts/etc. LOL I probebly wont post a pic of my invites bc I want to save it for my planning thread. hehe I know I'm evil. BUT Here's some pics of my STDs to hold you over
