  9. The reason we chose the RIU Ocho Rios was based on a few things: 1. it had GREAT reviews on Trip advisor 2. Friends have stayed at this resort in the past and raved about it. 3. it was a good size, not too big and not to small 4. also since they do specialze in weddings, i dont think we will be dissapointed!! Hope this helps.

  12. Thanks for the helpful info. I LOVE the idea of having dinner in one of the resturants and then having a party at Seagrape.... and much more cost effective too!! How far in advnace did you book Seagrape for the reception? Thanks for your help. 13. Awesome idea. Thanks for sharing. How many puzzles are you putting in your OOT bags?
  14. Thanks ladies...these are some great ideas for songs. Thanks for sharing!!
  15. Quote: Originally Posted by tmemise Thank you. DJ: It is $150/hour, however, we did what some past brides suggested and asked him if he could stay an extra 1/2 hour for $50. Total cost for the DJ was $350 ($300 to Chandlyn + $50 to the DJ personally). Music: We did bring our own music and our own ipod with docking system with extra speakers, fortunately though, we did not have to use the docking system or speakers. Chandlyn has a sound system that has connections for the ipod, so we just plugged it in and played our own pre-selected songs. We did this for the ceremony and the first 2 hours of the reception, the DJ took over for the last 2 1/2 hours. Flowers: Yes we choose our colours. Chandlyn advised us if the colours were available we would able to get them. You can view some of the pics on the Shutterfly link at the bottom of the review. Enjoy. Thanks so much for the info. We werent sure if we should bring the docking system and speackers, its great they hve all the connections for it. I take it you liked the DJ if you asked him to stay extra long :-) is there only one DJ and if not who did you guys use? Your pics are great!!
  16. Congrats!! Thanks for the review. Sounds like a fab time!! I cant wait to go. Iam in countdown mode now....2 months till ROR!! 3 questions... how much did the DJ cost? and did you bring your own music? and did you get to choose the color of your flowers for the gazebo? Cant wait to see pics.

One reason we have 50 people flying down and range from ages 7 to 85 and the Gran Bahia Principe Complex offer something for everyone because you stay at one and play at all three. One thing we wanted was a wedding on the beach so Tulum is on the beach. However I’m sure you are able to have your wedding on the beach with the other resorts in the complex. This resort was in the price range that we were looking for and could accommodate the number of people. Also the requirements to be married there were easy to gather. All you need is your passports and tourist cards and the passports of your 4 witnesses if you have never been married before. I’ve been reading of the horror stories from the other brides trying to fill all the requirements. The day after we booked and finalized our resort the wedding coordinator e-mailed me. My coordinator’s name is Jazmin and she is awesome!!! I’m completely happy will everything I’ve picked by e-mail and know that it will be perfect when I get down there. Also I was able to look at the packages for the wedding on line. They have a great website. Hope this helps! Congrats again! WE stayed at the resort a few years ago and LOVED it and severl family memebers have stayed there as well. Everyone has nothing but great things to say about. PPl are super friendly, rooms nice, clean resort, and the best thing is they have a tram that takes you back and forth to the beach...really good espcially if you have older ppl travelling with you. Good luck with your search.
  18. ive been trying to decide to.... i think my FI may stay with his friend that night as he is travelling without his wife. so it kinda works out well for us.
  19. I love the TTD idea.... how is everyone going about doing that? on the day of the wedding? or the day after? Ive just recently heard of this and would love to know more about TTD. Thanks.
