OH and thanks everyone for the input regarding Fridays! I would love to try a wed or thurs, but I think most of our guests would only be coming for 5 nights, over the weekend, so I don't know how that would work. Plus the fiesta sounds like a lot of fun and I would like to go! Are Oceana or Seaside Grille rentable? I don't see anything on the wedding guide online....

Has anyone tried calling Rebecca directly to book a date? She was really good about responding quickly about dates a few weeks ago, but now Im hearing nothing! I actually emailed her twice to try to pin down a date and I have not got a response. Im really stressing because we want to send out STDs!

Hi everyone! I have been on the Dreams Puerto Aventuras a bit, and reading this one as well. We have decided to have our wedding here. After a lot of back and forth with dates, it seems that there are no Saturdays left for April 2011. Has anyone had a Friday wedding? The only reason I am worried is because of the Mexican Fiesta that night. I think we would have our reception at las Palmas, by the pool. Is the fiesta close by? I did try to search the forum, but I did not see anything specific to this. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Awesome review! I love your planning thread too. You had so many great ideas! I see that your grandparents brought all of the vases, etc. How did you make sure they didn't break? I would love to bring some vases down, but I'm worried about weight and breaking! Your photog took wonderful pictures too. Lovely.

Congrats! Ill echo what someone elseo said - it can be as cheap or as expensive as you want! For us, we always wanted a DW. However, the guest list is no more intimate than it would have been at home! We are having a really hard time with it. But, on the other hand, a lot of the people we are inviting would not even come to a wedding at home, much less mexico! Good luck!

Congrats! You have mad a great choice being here and getting married in Mexico. I started by reading reviews here and then going on a travel site and travel review sites to see what resorts are around. Most have email addresses for WCs, so you can get a little info early! Good luck and have fun!

I'm sorry if this was already answered - where did you get the water bottle labels? Everywhere I find has very busy labels. I love the just the simplicity of the dots. Also, did you print the labels from your computer? Thanks!

We are in the process of signing a contract for our engagement pics we are taking at the end of this month in Playa. He has been great to work with so far and his pricing is great! Ill be sure to post the pictures when we get back!

Thanks for the great review! The gazebo pictures are so beautiful. We went to the resort in Oct and loved it! I was a little confused...did you do the private or semi-private? If you did semi- do you remember how much pp it was for totally private? Sorry, I just wasn't clear! I received some info from the resort, but unfortunately they did not include and private reception info - the main thing I really need!!

I realized it probably sounded like I was bashing other people's ceremonies with the tent! I hope no one took it that way. I actually think it looks I nice in photos, it's just not what I have always pictured. The problem is I have seen all these other resorts with gazebos or just a wooden pole structure with flowers and tulle, and now I really like it. And even if the ceremony is only 30 minutes, it really is the most important part (to mee) so I want it to be what we want, you know? Hopefully once we visit, Ill be sold! Although with our first 90 degree day here yesterday, and being outside and melting, Im starting to think the tent might not be a bad idea!

Glad to know Marisol knows her stuff! This picking a resort is becoming so stressfull! I want something we love, but priced fairly for our guests. My family keeps saying that we should do what we like, and if people are going to come, they will find a way, a few hundred dollars won't stop em! But I don't know. I really like the CAT in many ways, but I just can't get over the white tent!! I just really don't like it. I know someone asked recently about different options and it was a "no" but Im hoping I could even pay extra for a flower huppa or something. The base packages are so much less than other places, it wouldn be out of the question for us. We will see!!!

Of course, with my luck, she will be out of town. But she said Marisol could help. Does anyone have experience with her? Thanks for the prices! Unfortunately, I couldn't open it...but no worries, I got an email from the resort today. Unfortunately the only thing they sent was the exact same thing that is posted on the website! I was really more curious about location option, and extra pricing - like for flowers etc (which I did state in my original request). It kind of bothers me that those things are not on the website like so many other resorts. Plus other resorts sent TONS of info - pictures and pricing of "extras." Good thing all you ladies have given some info - even if it is not for 2011, I have an idea.

Can someone post the 2010 prices? I have been trying to get a response, but no luck so far! The website is very bare bones with no prices (that I see anyways!) We really want to get married next Feb so we want to start narrowing down! We are going to be in Playa next month so we want to visit the ones we are deciding between.

I'm relatively new to these forums. We just got engaged last weds and already planning for next Feb! I am looking at the CAT and this forum has sooo much info! Thanks ladies! Im curious if the private reception pp cost includes all drinks as well. From what I've seen so far, some resorts charge pp for a private reception, PLUS extra pp for drinks during that time! Seems a bit crazy!

Hi everyone! I have been a lurking member for over a year! We always talked about a destination wedding. Well, last night, he asked me to marry him! So now I don't have to hide this site when he's nearby! lol We are very excited to start planning. We love Playa del Carmen. We're actually going there in June, and we plan on looking at a few places. Also, we want to get engagement photos done. Anyways....Im so happy to spend my life with such a wonderful man!
