  1. So guess what?! Louise's last day will be Feb11. So now we will have yet ANOTHER WC! His name is Esman Mora and you can reach him at [email protected] I seriously am freaking out!
  2. Hi ladies! So, I re-emailed Louise after she responded that we need an email confirming prices. I was very nice, but said I wanted to speak to whoever made these decision. Anyone have an email for someone that can deal with this? On other fronts! Does anyone have any ideas on how to decorate the gazebo other than tulle? I really like the floating flowers idea, but now sure how it would look in the gazebo. What did everyone who used the gazebo do?
  3. Yeah no problem! Mar quoted $400 for 40 people, so I believe it is $10pp. Chic concepts was $495 for 40. I also asked detailed questions regarding what was included. Mar stays until the last guest leaves, while Chic concepts leaves during dinner.
  4. that is just amazing! I am so happy to hear that everything worked out. Your really MUST have great karma! Were you able to have a dancing reception here as well? I just emailed Carlos for more details. There is not much on this website about Le Kliff weddings. Congrats!
  5. well with all my freaking out, we are looking into getting a day-of coordinator. We have contacted Chic Concepts and Mar Weddings. Both are reasonable. So even though I really don't want to add on to the budget, I feel like it might prevent me from having a heart attack! Anyone have any experience with either?
  6. So with 10 weeks to go, I am freaking out! I'm just so worried that our wedding day will not run smoothly, so we have decided to look into a day-of coordinator. We have received quotes from Chic Concepts and Mar Weddings. Both are reasonable. I have seen good things about Mar, but nothing about Chic Concepts. Does anyone have any experiences they could share? Thank you so much!
  7. Yeah, I needed to cool down too, Kerrib! She emailed me back and just said I need emails. I had told her, well our deposit is the confirmation about prices. I also mentioned how completely outrageous it is to raise prices 50% and more. Don't think she likes me very much now! I did say I knew it was not her fault or decision, but I was pretty mad. Unfortunately, I don't have any emails confirming prices for the actual reception, so we are stuck. We will try to negotiate once we are there, I guess. Really no other choice. I decided to just stop stressing and accept it!!
  8. So I was looking at the prices on the website and noticed how much prices have increased from last year. Dinner/cocktail prices were raised 50% and flowers more than 50%!! I am sooooo mad. Of course, I do not have a contract guaranteeing last years prices, so we are screwed. I know, our own fault. BUT I think the percentage of increase is outrageous. No one in their right minds budgets for that much of an increase year-to-year. So all you new brides, get confirmation!!
  9. So just off-topic a bit, but Im so annoyed that United has started offering non-stop from Chicago! When we booked, not one airline did. So we have a layover - which I hate in general and do everything to avoid, but we had no choice. Now all these people who waited to book are getting non-stop. We did get insurance, but since we did a package with our stay at Dreams and our honeymoon together, we would lose almost 2 grand to change flights! Oh well. My mom is nuts though! My parents booked pretty early (like good parents! Lol) but she has found out about the non-stop flights available now and she just won't stop complaining! It's like she thinks the whole airline industry conspired against her! So now I have told anyone who got direct flights to lie to her because I can't listen to it anymore!
  10. Ok I just checked; here are the first two points: EXTERNAL PHOTOGRAPHERS POLICIES In the terms when the client decides to use the services of an external photographer, the Dreams Puerto Vallarta Hotel has certain rules, policies and procedures to be observed: The client will be charged a $90 usd per person daily fee, for using the services of an external photographer. The above fee will cover each worker’s dinner and non alcoholic drinks, at the event area and during the dinning time. There are a total of 13 points on it, mostly stating that the photographer cannot damage anything. If the photographer requires any assistance from Dreams, there is a $500 fee. Anyone who needs this, PM me!!
  11. I actually have a document that states if the photographer is from PV, you only have to pay a day pass. I don't enough points to attach it here, but anyone interested, PM me and I'll forward it to you! I don't know about other vendors. I am actually probably bringing in hair and makeup, so I better find out!
  12. Thanks Karen and autjo! That helps me at least visualize a bit! You know, I didn't even know you could hire a WC just for the day. It might be worth looking into. Does anyone know if this is common enough to get quotes on? Dreams2011, your setup looked awesome! I have been dead-set against a beach reception, but that looks so nice, I may have reconsider! Was it super windy with sand flying everywhere? That's my main concern! I have not heard back from Louise either. Everyone has been like "oh the close to your wedding, the more contact you get" but ours is in 10 weeks! She is being slow lately and Im just getting stressed. Brett keeps telling me to relax, it will all be ok, but I can't help! One positive is that I get "stomach aches" when Im stressed, so a little weight loss is a result! Gotta look at the brightside right??
  13. Thanks Karen. I have all my emails, so Im sure I will "remind" Louise when we get there. That's a great site! Do you know where the dance floor is in relation to the tables and pool at Las Palmas?
  14. Oh and by the way, I was quoted $250 for the bonfire last year. I did confirm with Louise. Not sure if the price went up since then?
  15. So sorry for all the stress Dreams2011! I'm glad you fought for the discount- you deserved it! That is my biggest nightmare at this point! I have been a stress case this past week - we are getting married in 10 weeks and I feel like we have so much to do! That review did not calm my nerves! One question for you - how did you have such a detailed set-up all ready, as far as tables and such? I have no idea the set-up (well other than pics) to make such a detailed plan! Any advice is appreciated!
  16. Also, to anyone concerned about the old tower, read some reviews on Tripadvisor. I think the majority who stayed in the old tower admit they are older, but very comfortable and clean. Im not too worried about it. I think pretty much all my guests are staying there (we are in the new tower so we could have more space).
  17. Dreams2011, maybe you can give some details about what went wrong with the actual wedding? You're leaving us all hanging! I know you probably are sick of thinking about it, but it could really help those of us getting married soon. Thanks!
  18. sorry, that was 800P for me and 500 P for the bridesmaids.
  19. Just curious if it was so much because that included your bridal party? I was quoted 800 P each hair or makeup, 500 P each hair and makeup. It cost 50% more to come to the hotel. Did you do a trial? I'm trying to decide if I want to or not.
  20. I would be very interested in contact info, preferably an email if possible! I have emailed Franc Gole twice now and still have not got a response!
  21. Aprilmay - so you don't think the Bose will work for the reception at las Palmas? That was our idea. Not sure where you had your reception. We just can't decide what to do!! I'm also glad that Lucy was able to just read what you brought. Do you think it was obvious it was not legal (to your guests I mean). Did you still do vows and stuff? Were you able to contact her before you arrived? Thanks!
  22. I just had to vent here because sometimes I think FI gets annoyed when I complain about how indecisive his family is! We have a TA, but she kinda sucks, so I have been helping people book, which I honestly don't mind. I'm always on travel sites anyways, and I want our guests to get the best deal possible, so it's fine. The problem is, his mom cannot decide when she is coming and seems unable to talk to his aunt (who she will travel with) about their plans. So she asks me to help, but then it's "oh, I haven't talked to so and so yet, so I don't know." Well don't ask me to spend all this time looking! Also, we said from the beginning that we would pay for his mom because she just could not afford it. No problem. But now, the longer she takes to decide, the more expensive it gets! I really think it's kind of rude! So I told FI that until his mom decides and talks to his aunt, I am not spending more time. Also, he knows I will be very mad if we end up spending much more because of this. It's like, come on! Pick up the darn phone and ask your sister what she is doing! It's only been 3 months since you started this indecisiveness!!
