  1. Vey beautiful pictures. Thank you so much for re-posting them. I was trying to get an idea of where the receptions are held. So far it seems that they are held in the same room(but i have only seen two receptions). How many guests did you have? I thought I saw or read somewhere that they can be held in some restaurant on the second floor with a view of the beach. But it looks just as good in that room. What table decorations did you provide? Did you have a DJ or just rented the speakers? Sorry for the questions. I have not seen a lot of pictures from brides who have held their wedding at this location. Thank you Jenn

I'm on these Isla Mujeres message boards and got these messages from people down there today: Good luck, just remember to relax - and don't turn on the tv down there! If you get a chance please send us a message to let us know how it is. Message: I am down here now and as I lay on my beach chair in the breeze with a cool cervesa in hand, it seems like an oasis from the US fear machine! Im glad Im here and not there. We are fine!!! Message: things are still fine. Have been here since last Friday, and unfortunately we have to make our way back to the States in a few days. Had lunch at Bally Hoo and by the time we left every table was full..busy as normal on Medina and at least in my opinion the hard work on Hidalgo is coming along nicely. We have seen very few masks. We are swimming, eating, shopping and relaxing...just paying attention and washing our hands I am gettin married there next May. Wish I was there now. I can't wait to see your pics. Have fun and be careful.

  8. You know, I havent really thought about it. But I think we will have a sweetheart table and several rounds tables and everyone can sit where they please. During cocktail time they will be drinking and getting to know one another anyway!

  10. Well I decided to do the whole destination thing because I wanted it to be carefree, fun, non-southern traditional, did I say fun. I want my dress, makeup, and hair to reflect my decision to be fun an carefree. I think if I pin my hair up and make it all nice and neat, it will take away from what I want to accomplish. Somehow I have formed a email relationship with the lady I am booking my penthouse and rooms on the island. She live in the states, but goes to the island every couple of months. She is actually mailing me some brochures to give to my guest. But she says that May is the best month out of the year to go. Not too hot and not extremely windy. So, Savannah I might just do, long and loose with a flower. Don't know, not gonna worry too much about it. Your face should really be the focal point anyway. I have seen some pics on here where the AA brides have let people who work in the little salon do there hair and make-up.... and they did not look natural at all. Just remember your face is just as important as your hair....nobody knows what you like more than you. Practice makes perfect....for your hair and make-up. Sorry to vent, but it really bothers me when I see pics of brides where their hair is beautiful, dress is cute but their face looks like someone with NO idea what they were doing, did their make-up. And honestly just took away from the pictures.

I will be on the beach anyway. I dont wanna be tooo formal. When your make-up is done right, you really dont have to do a lot with your hair. Cause everyone's focus will be on your face anyway.

  13. Hi ladies. I love the hairs pics. Good looking out!! I love the pic of Nia Long. That is so me. I love it, no fuss but still pretty and all it needs is a flower. I also love the soft updo that BillysBride posted. Very soft and romantic looking. I have no idea how to post pic or I would. I found a cute hairstyle that actress Gabriella Union wore in Neyo's video for Independent Woman.
  14. Ladies who live in Atlanta or surrounding areas, who did you let shoot your BD session? Looking for someone who takes amazing pictures. Thanks
  15. Hi ladies. I am not getting married til next year, so I have a while. But I am starting to wonder what to do with my hair. My sister has worn a sew-in forever and thinks I should get one. She pays lots of money for "good" hair and it always looks pretty. I'm really not going for the whole elegant look as we are getting married on the beach, so I will probably wear it down, maybe even straight with a flowers. Or kinda long and curly with a flower. Don't know. I will probably start working on some hairstyles soon. Ladies, where are your pics? I want some inspiration
