Hi ladies - I was just in PV mid-Feb. for a site visit. We looked at 4 resorts and have chosen Dreams PV. Although we are not getting married there, our guests will stay from 10/31-11/07. I was a bit nervous because the reviews had not been anything spectacular. However, you are all right - they continue to get better. The property is GORGEOUS! Each guest room is a suite and looks exactly like the photos. How cool that they each have a jacuzzi tub on the balcony as well!! The restaurant variety is great - and the rooftop loung (9th floor) sushi lounge has the most beautiful view of the bay. Also, the salon is to die for. You will all enjoy spending time there with your bridal party. Super 'posh'. They were cementing in the wedding gazebo near the beach while we were there. It is located close to the Barracuda bar, just before the stairs down to the beach. It is surrounded by concrete and grass - not sand. However, since it was still under construction, I do not know exactly how it will look when finished. Group sales is run by Cynthia Salcedo and she can be reached at [email protected]. Hey ladies - Does anyone have a recommendation for group transportation in PVR? We are expecting to have to transport 75 guests to our welcome dinner roundtrip and I think a bus or two makes more sense than 20 taxi cabs. I appreciate any info. you have. Happy Sunday, Trisha

We have decided to go with Dreams Villmagna. I exhausted all options (contacting the hotel directly, reviewing all search engines, talking to many travel agents, etc) and it is going to work out best for us to not use a TA and just have people book online. From Mpls, the best package is through Expedia.com, but some may use others sites depending on their home airport (and we have MANY). We just released info. to our family and bridal party on Friday and already have 23 people on the same flight coming down on Halloween from Mpls. I am SO excited about it : ). We plan to inform the rest of our guests after this week. Trisha

We're going back and forth between Dreams Villa Magna and the Riu Palace Pacifico. Our guests are coming form many different cities and different amount of times, so we may find it easier to pick a hotel and just have them book on their own. I've been trying to work with group sales coordinators at each location, but the group rates they have provided are no better than what you can find on expedia or orbitz. Frustrating. HI Everyone - We're back from our week in PVR. What a wonderful time we had! I knew everything would be perfect, but it was great to see things with my own two eyes. Las Caletas is so magical - and I cannot wait for our wedding in November. It was so much fun being there for the day and meeting Kelley, our wedding coordinator. In addition to visiting LC, we toured 4 resorts and a few places for rehearsal/welcome dinner. Now, we have things narrowed down to staying at either the new Dreams Villa Magna or the Riu Palace Pacifico. Also, our dinner the night before will also be held at either La Palapa or Barcelona Tapas. Instead of giving you the whole run down - I'll post a link to my photos. Each photo has a description. Hey ladies - I hope you're all well. I leave Sunday and will be in PV for a week for a site visit. I'm posting to see if any brides need anything while I'm there? I will take photos for 'Goldstein to Be' as requested of the Riu Vallarta disco while we stay there. I also plan to get to Walmart and Costco to check if they have alcohol and similar amentities to the U.S. I visit LC on Tuesday, 2/17 with Kelley. We are also either visiting or staying at both Dreams, the Marival and the Riu Vallarta. We also have apoointments at La Palapa, Barcelon Tapas, Tikul and De Santos. Great review! I had tears in my eyes viewing the slide show! I am so excited to see LC! We go down to meet Kelley in two weeks and tour resorts/spots for a rehearsal dinner. Vista Grill is on my list! I see you brought down your tableclothes at LC. How about the other decor on the tables? I love it and want to know if I should just tell Kelley to duplicate it : )

I plan to take a look at both Walmart and Costco on my trip down in Feb. I know that does not help you brides getting married in the nxt few weeks - sorry! I want to also do gift bags and had the same thought that I could pick up a few things at either of those locations at a great price. Yea - I'm going to have so much to report when I get back on Feb. 22nd! Happy New Years ladies!!

I was able to get contact information for the coordinator at Riu Vallarta, and have emailed them this morning about the possibility of hosting a welcome dinner there. I can report back to you on what I find, as well as give you my hotel review when we return at the end of Feb.

I've been doing quite a bit of searching online and it seems that it is always cheaper to book a package instead of booking air & hotel separately. I am going down for a site visit in Feb. and am going to stay a few nights each at the Marival and the Riu Vallarta. Both are a bit less expensive than Dreams. We also want to have options for our guests, but want to make sure they are still getting a nice vacation. I'd be happy to report back on both of these Nuevo Vallarta AI resorts when I return. Britt & Andi - Where is your group staying for your March/April weddings? My fiance and I are going down for a site visit in Feb. to see LC and also to tour resorts. I know most brides on here have posted about Dreams and have liked it. However, I am a little concerned about the 'night life' because we have a party group. Most guests will arrive Sat or Sun for a Tuesday wedding and will then stay through the following Sat. We can make our own fun (not worried about that), but I am just interested in your experiences and why you selected the resorts you did. I worte to Tara (tvt) and she provided some insight, but the more - the better. Britt - I believe you are staying at Dreams and visitied it last summer? Andi - where di you visit on your trip? I'd also like to know about the pricing on the individual desserts. We're not really cake people, so I'd prefer that option if at all possible.

Andi - that is great news! A site visit will be great! My FI, parents and another set of friends are going to PV for aweek at the end of Feb and staying at the Marival.
