  1. Those are cute! I sttled on bronze flips with no heel for the bridemaids from Target. I ordered myself a pair of light blue wedge sandals (something blue), but they are not yet in. Soon - I hope. I also purchased some white wedge flip flops to change into for dinner and will likely be barefoot by thte time the dance begins. Here are the blue wedges: Payless ShoeSource - Womens - Predictions - Hope Sandal
  2. Hi, Sandy - I visited back in Feb. when the resort was only 3 months old. The grounds are pristine and perfect. The reviews on Trip Advisor were not fabulous then, but have continually gotten better. We're getting married at Las Caletas but are staying at Dreams VM for the week of 10/31-11/7. So are all 63 of our guests that havebooked so far. The prices are really good through Expedia and Orbitz. Good luck! Trisha
  3. Thanks so much for the activity sheet. It helps a lot, and now I know my guests won't be bored : ) I've also heard that there is a casino night, fire dancers, a circus night, and karaoke night. If you go on youtube.com, and type in Dreams VillaMagna - there are two guys that filmed several parts of their week-long vacation. They have film of about 3 or 4 shows. It is helpful to see some of the shows and how they are set up, but I don't know what time they each happen at night. Sorry.
  4. Jaime - welcome back! can't wait to read your reviews, etc and hear EVERYTHING! Jojoxxo - you won't regret having your visit to LC. I too was nervour about the boat, language barriers, grounds, etc - and had to convince FI this was the right decision. Our trip last Feb. was perfect and confirmed how magical everything at LC really is. Side question for all you brides (especially those that had many in your bridal party) - what did you do about a rehearsal? We have 6 standing on each side, and several sets of parents, gparents. Do we just mock up a practice at the hotel? Should I ask Kelley to come to the hotel a day or two early? How did you work getting everyone off the boat and in order without scrambling around in your dress? - Trisha
  5. Thanks for the info. We will be busy enough then I guess, right! : ) Check out Las Caletas for your wedding! It will take your breathe away....
  6. Thanks for sharing the photos. Andi, I like that they had brown napkins to match the runners. I'll probably go that route. I too can't wait to see your photos!!!
  7. I can't wait to hear from JaimeLynn to see how everything went! Side question - for those of you who were married this spring: for the dinner, I know the tables have a white table cloth. I am also planning to have the white chair covers and either a tan or chocolate runner. Are white napkins included as well and how are they presented (rolled, folded etc). Wine glasses on the table too? This is probably all flexible to how I want it, but I thought I'd throw it out there before I bug kelley more. Thanks ladies - Trisha
  8. We are coming down in November and I have 75 people to transport from Nuevo Vallarta (Dreams) to downtown for our welcome dinner. We have hired 2 buses through Puerto Vallarta Tours at $8 USD per person roundtrip (Raul's email: [email protected]) and yes - others are correct that the streets are narrow. We actually have to get off the bus and walk an additional 4 blocks to where we need to be but it is way more fun and cheap to keep everyone together on 2 buses! Good luck!
  9. I toured and ate at a few places in Feb. We narrowed it down to La Palapa and Barcelone Tapas based on a few things: Price - approx $30-35 USD per person for a sit down meal View - La Palapa seating is in the sand on the beach and Bacelona Tapas is an amazing view from the rooftop Atmosphere - both were clean, americanized and classy. We ended up going with Barcelona Tapas and will be hosting our welcome dinner there in Nov. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Trisha
  10. When I toured the resort in Feb. with Yolanda, she let me know it would costs guests staying off of the property approx $100 usd for a day pass. This includes all food and drinks they want, but still very pricey! So far, all 54 of our guests have booked at Villamagna so this should not be an issue for us! I emailed them awhile back and requested a copy of the daily activity sheet they slip under your door each morning. I think it lists all activities scheduled for the day along with which restaurants will be open. Unfortunaltely, I never heard back. Does anyone happen to have a obe of these? Just curious on what to expect each day..... Thanks, Trisha
  11. I looked at the photos - thanks for sharing Andi! That was one brave bride (a big dress for many stairs at LC)! Jaime - just a few more days! Yippee!!
  12. So who ever is next after Jaime should bring out another starfish to pass along the tradition! Or, I'll bring one in November, but hope there will be one prior.
  13. Ladies - Maybe a silly question, but I still have to ask - when you say cash - did you tip USD or pesos? I like the idea of giving the tips to the best man, but I worry about bringing so much cash with me. Maybe my best bet will be to get pesos when we arrive and then give it to the best man at that time. Jenn - We just booked Nate Cordova (our original photographer from Mpls. is now pregnant and cannot travel in Nov.) I'm curious about your review - but wow the teasers look great. I can't wait to see more photos of your day on his blog. Britt - Hurry. Can't wait to see you photos!!
  14. Jaime - The 24th will be here before you know it!! I hope your guests aren't going too bonkers about the swine flu bug! I spoke to kelley at LC and the wedding for Sunday 5/3 was completely canceled. I would die! Anyhow, take it all in and don;t panic these last two weeks : ) Andi, welcome back and we are all waiting for your exciting and detailed review!!! I can't wait to see your photos! Britt - did you get any of your prof. photos back from Elizabeth Lloyd yet? Happy Wednesday, Trisha
  15. Britt - Thanks for the info. I bought white flips with a 1 inch wedge, but I don;t feel bride like at all in them. I think I will go for wedges! Also, my bridesmaids keep requesting to wear some type of a heel, but I keep telling them they will sink in the sand!
  16. I would also suggest Nathan Cordova, He typically has shot second for Elizabeth Lloyd, but has started going out on his own (therefore, he is VERY reasonible). I just hired him for Nov. after searching high and low and interviewing many. license to Still Good luck!
  17. Congrats Andi! Can't wait to see the photos and hear your review on everything. I am delighted to hear that everything went perfectly! Yay!! Trisha
  18. I am 11/3/09 at Caletas (staying at Dreams Villmagna - arriving 10/31). what a great list! I added myself!! 19. Hello ladies! Although I am getting married at Caletas - our group of guests (50 booked so far!) is staying at Villamagna. We have booked transportation to take the group into town and will be hosting our welcome dinner at Barcelona Tapas. I am happy to help you answer any questions about VM. I visited in Feb, which helped me to confirm my decision. Also, check out the reviews on trip adivsor. They are very helpful. It seemed that the place had afew kinks off the get go, but that things are running like a 5 star resort now. Yippee!! Trisha
  20. Danielle - There is a whoel thread about music, which I use often. I like a few songs right now a ton - but know my mind will change several times prior to November! Trisha
  21. I too would love to borrow the starfish if it is still around in November. Add me to the list. Andi - what did you decide about your rehearsal dinner. I know you were asking for quotes on Barcelona Tapas, but I wasn't sure what you had decided. Wow - only a little more than a week!! When do you depart??
  22. Britt - thanks so much for the teaser photos. I can't wait to see everything Elizabeth sends you. It sounds like you had a good experience with Bill at Barcelona Tapas - so that is fantastic to hear. Congrats!
  23. Britt - First and foremost - Welcome back!!!! I am SO excited to hear all about it : ) I'm anxious to hear your review of barcelona Tapas. I loved the location and the food while we visited in Feb., but now I am having a hard time getting the owner to get me a confirmation for our welcome dinner. He is responsive by phone, but I want documentation that we have a location! Have a great day - Trisha
  24. Britt - we are all anxiously waiting for your return to hear about your perfect day!!!
