  1. We ended up going with Puerto Vallarta Tours and are using them twice for our transportation needs. Airport pickup and rountrip to our welcome dinner. They have been wonderful to work with and are the least expensive. You can contact Raul at [email protected] Website is: Your Complete Tourist Guide in Puerto Vallarta | Your Complete Vacation Guide in Puerto Vallarta | Your Complete List of Activities in Puerto Vallarta Good luck!
  2. Sandy - this is very helpful. Thank you for all the information! I'll report on these issues when I return as well. I'll admit that many of the posting on TripAdvisor have me concerned, but I think overall out guests will be happy. Only 5 days until I depart : )
  3. Thank so much. Can't wait to share everything with you all when we return!
  4. Very cool that they added the blog. That would have been useful for us, huh Andi? Going to get packed up this weekend. Only 4 more days of work! Yee - ha!
  5. Congrats Jen - We'll probably miss each other - we arrive on the 31st. I hope everything goes smoothly.
  6. Ladies - only 2 1/2 weeks until we leave. Yippee! I was feeling very organized and had a conference call with Kelley yesterday to finalize everything. Now I feel even better. I am taking the day away from the office tomorrow to run a few errands (pick up our rings, my dress, etc). We are getting legally married this weekend so that piece will also be done ahead of time. I can't wait!!!! Welcome to Amy! Trisha
  7. I'm not even getting married there - just staying there for the week with my 75 guests, and both the wedding coordinators and the concierge have been fantastic. They usually respond to my email questions within an hour. They've helped me to hire a cigar roller, book spa appointments before I arrive, estimate taxi cost to specific locations, etc. Fantastic service! - 2 1/2 weeks until we depart : )
  8. Carolina - I did a site vist last Feb. and toured resorts, welcome dinner spots, etc. If you want to PM me I am happy to share the info. Trisha
  9. Congrats! The 5 months will fly by. My 11 months has : ) Let us know what you need. I'm not sure about napkin rings. I like the starfih idea though. Anyone else know? Trisha
  10. Jen - sorry to hear that. I know it is frustrating when you don't hear anything. We arrive at Dreams on Oct 31 and are staying for the week with our group (but getting married at Caletas). Hang in there!!! - Trisha
  11. I am having Fernando do my hair in November. The price for the bride is $220 for hair and makeup and each bridemaid is $90 for hair only. Happy planning!
  12. Congrats! We booked 9 months out and it was such a relief to pay the deposit and finally have confirmation!! Britt - we did decide on Barcelona Tapas. We met Bill and ate there twice in March and he has been very easy to work with throughout the process. I cannot wait. I think the view is so stunning and I think our guests will just LOVE it! We've hired buses to take us to BT from Nuevo on Monday 11/2 for the welcome event. We are expecting about 70 and will have the entire rooftop area. Hooray! I'll confirm with Kelley about the starfish. Thank you! Trisha
  13. HI - everyone, so sorry I have been MIA lately. Busy summer at work and we just bought a new homes, so moving - yuck! But horray - less than 2 months until our big day! Erin - welcome - our dates are just a few weeks apart. And yes, this site is surely a goldmine! Abbey - is the starfih still in Caletas for the brides to use? Thanks! Trisha Tara - can you beleive it is almost your one year anniversary and our wedding day is almost here. Gosh how time has flown by.
  14. My finance is wearing a tan linen suit by Perry Ellis from Macy's. The groomsmen have matching pants and ordered white linen shirts from Isladn Importer: Linen Majorca Shirt - Island Importer Brown leather sandals for everyone.
  15. Congrats and welcome. I remember when we booked - it was a huge lift off my shoulders knowing I had founf 'the spot'. We booked about 11 months out too. Have fun with your STD cards : ) - Trisha
  16. Congrats and welcome to the club! Do you have any photos of the wedding structure? They were still building it when I was there back in Feb. Although I'm not getting married there, i am staying there for a week with my wedding guests. You will not be disappointed. The grounds are lovely! Cheers, Trisha
  17. Congrats to everyone on here who has recently booked LC dates! How exciting. I've been busy with work and buying a new house (yay) so I haven't wirtten in awhile. Sorry! Less then 3 months until my day - so I've been working on last minute details such as itinerary, getting my dress fitted, etc. The only thing I'm bringing down for my table decor is floating candles (Kelley can't get them) and table numbers (because they match my invites) . The rest, she is organizing - table runners, floral (which I sent her photos of). Easy! Andi - LOVE the TTD photos. I just sent the link to Luke so he knows what we'll be doing on November 4th : )
  18. We are also getting married here before we go down. Since nothing legal needs to take place, we've asked a friend to preside over the ceremony. I wrote the whole thing, so it is very personal. I think it will be best to have him do it so we know what we are getting : ) Sandy, I would love to see the activities schedule. I also love the idea of ordering some champagne to do a toast the night we arrive on the rooftop lounge. Fantastic! my personal email is taverhasselt at yahoo.com Thanks!! - Trisha
  19. Great to hear Sandy about the visit. The reviews are getting worse on trip advisor, but they seem to me that people are just complaining because it is hot (hello - it is July in Mexico) and things are under staffed (which is typical for this time of the year!). Sandy or H & F - are they charging you extra to do welcome drinks on the sushi rooftop patio - or are you just telling people to meet there? I think I am going to do the same thing! - Trisha
  20. LUke and I are also getting married in MN about two weeks before we come down to Mexico. Even if we were able to do it legally at LC - I did not want to bother with running around, getting blood work, etc. etc. I am there to enjoy the week!! Andi - Thanks for posting the pictures. I'm working with Kelley on my decor details now, so it is very helpful. My colors are chocolate brown and chartreuse green. Lots and lots of limes!!! I can't wait.
  21. Thanks for sharing the non-pro photos. They are great!! And congrats!
  22. Amber - i was there late Feb and they had concrete poured for the base of a gazebo which the wedding coordinator told me they would be using for future weddings. Sorry I don't have a photo though. It took them a few days to respond to my emails toom so don't worry yet. I can probably guess that yes, some of the negative reviews are attributed to low tourism right now. Additionally, this is their low season, so staff is not near what it is during the heavy season. Yes - you will find complainers anywhere in the worl, so I'm not letting a negative review get me down. It will all be fine! - Trisha
  23. Sandy - would you mind shring some of the issues you had with VillaMagna? I am staying there in Nov, but having my wedding at Las Caletas. Thank you.
  24. Andi - Yippee! I was so excited to see your photos were here! And....... it was worth the wait. Just beautiful : ) I will probably watch this 100 times over the next 3 months as we prepare for our wedding in Nov. I hope you don;t mind, but I'll probably dig for details as I get closer. Congrats!
  25. Sandy - One thing to note - we found it cheaper to have our guests book through a site like expedia or orbitz rather than have Dreams VM block rooms. Our timing was this: 10 months prior - send save the dates with our website info 8 months prior - email everyone resort and travel information (immediate family and bridal party all booked right away - others have been trickling in since) 3-4 months prior (which is right now) - send invitations out and hope those sitting on the fence make a decision. People will figure it out on their own. We found it was best to give them the resort info and let them book on their own. We have people coming from all different airports all over the US and staying for different amounts of time. We currently have 68 people booked and anticpate settling on around 80. - Hope this helps, Trisha
