We got the translation at the MP, but we haven't had to use it once. I've changed my name - SS, DMV, credit cards, etc etc, and not one place has needed to see the translation. I actually have been wishing I hadn't paid for it! Someone a while back also asked about registering your marriage. It depends on where you live. Before we left, I called my local courthouse and asked if they needed me to register my marriage license when I got back, and they said it wasn't necessary. However, I've heard some states do want you to register your marriage. Just call the courthouse and ask if there's anything special you need to do upon your return.

I don't know if certain Mexican photographers have relationships with the resorts that allow them to do weddings, but when I was looking for a photographer, I got a lot of flat out "no, didn't you know MP doesn't allow Mexican photographers?"'s back in emails. I think they only way to possibly get around it would be to pay for them to stay a night or two - which some photographers are not really willing to do I guess.

He wants the beach and says it is our wedding so the guests can sweat a little. If we have a beach wedding in August around 5pm will it still be unbearably hot? Hey! Well...I think it might be quite warm...but I'm not sure about unbearably hot! I can say that I got married in mid-July at 1pm, and I almost fainted 3 times once I got out onto the beach. By 6pm when we started our outdoor reception though, everyone was fine. The fact that you're at 5pm really helps. You might want to ask your WC what she thinks - she'll tell you if she thinks it will be too hot!

Is this right? I really appreciate your help. Thanks again. Hey Jenna! You can go through either Miami or your TA to get room blocks. I checked both to see who got the lower price (my TA did). However, if you go through your TA, make sure they are still able to get you all the freebies written into your contract! From what I've heard, some TAs can do it, and others haven't been able to. Check on that for sure!!! My TA was also able to get us all on the Nizuc side, which was what I wanted!

  10. JSim - I think I signed two - the one reserving my wedding date and time, and one detailing my rates. I think the one with the rates detailed the free goodies. MrsMoulton - I missed your question about the roses - I think they will let you throw them as long as they are natural and biodegradable. I know they will let you bring your own freeze dried petals, so I don't think it would be a problem.

But my question is, with the day pass they say on the website they can only stay in til 11pm - are they strict on this?? Hey MrsD! I'm not really sure because none of my guests stayed off the resort, so I don't know how strict they are about it. I can tell you that they were VERY strict with my group that our events MUST end by 10pm. So, unless you were planning something after your reception, it might not really matter that the deadline is 11. Really, the DJ like cut us off mid-song. LOL.

Thanks so much. Hmm...I know there were a few brides who did weddings on the beach...I believe one or two wrote reviews. I think one of them was cutierosie - try searching for MP reviews, you should find some pics! I remember the reviews being good!!

It also read if we had 25 rooms times 3 nights or 75 room nights and the hotel would provide unlimited private functions plus 7 complimentary nights. We had 62 room nights and are having a problem getting the refund for the complimentary nights. Palace is telling us if they comp our rooms we no longer have the 60 nights. Did anyone else have this problem? Well, I didn't - because I didn't have that many nights - but that's crappy Tina!!! If it wasn't written into your contract like that - I would argue it! Can your TA help

In a couple reviews from people that had the free packages, it seemed that their wedding coordinators didn't pay them as much attention for the entire day. That's interesting Tina, I never thought of it that way! I was one of the brides whose WC seemed to be MIA, and my stuff went missing. Claudia was great up until the day of the wedding. I'm not sure what happened. It may have been because I got married on a Saturday, and I know there were several other weddings the day I got married. I did add about $2,000 worth of add-ons though - so it was essentially like I purchased a package!!! WC present or not, it was still a great time and everything was organized for the most part. I did eventually get all my stuff back!

I am looking at using the tucan gazebo if possible as I think that looks lovely - is this the best choice or is another one better!!!! I just dont want it to look too bare I went with the free package and just purchased what we needed. ALL the gazebos are lovely - you really can't go wrong. If you want a super long walkway, go with the Tucan. If not, go with Bugambilla (okay, I massacred that spelling), and it also has a pretty water fountain next to it. Tucan does not. The Chapel Gazebo is very pretty, and it has pews and a cross in it. Chapel has fountains, and I believe the walkway has a little bridge over water between fountains as well. The views are all excellent. I didn't get any flowers or decorations for the gazebo, and it was still gorgeous. The view is really enough that it doesn't look bare. We had our sand ceremony on the altar, and that was it!

I am getting a littl stressed out.. and my fiance is like just relax everything will work out.. But shouldn't i have somewhat of an idea?? ahhh Jodi Hey Jodi! Don't get stressed out! The MP moves a little slow - lots of the wedding stuff you can't really plan with them until you are much closer. I think I started with Save the Dates and Invitations, then I started collecting things for OOT bags. I also spent time designing informational brochures for my guests (free through vistaprint!! woot!) and reminder postcards about deposits (also through vistaprint!). I spent a lot of time online just browsing for ideas for colors, flowers, bridesmaid dresses, etc. We started planning I think around 8 months before. I know it's tough, because you feel like you should be planning a lot, but remember that the MP is going to do most of the legwork for you. I think we all get programmed into thinking you need to be super stressed out and busy all the time because for a traditional wedding you have to do a ton more planning. We don't! I would start with OOT bags if you plan on doing them and putting together an idea board!
  22. Hey Rach! I posted this a few pages back too, but when I went, you needed five pieces of music - the processional, the bridal entrance, the paper signing, the kiss, and the recessional. I also had them play a prelude song. You'll definitely want to find something about 4 or 5 minutes for your paper signing - it takes a bit! Hopefully all that info will be the same when your turn rolls around!!
  23. I love #1 and #6! 1 is so elegant and beautiful on you. I didn't even look at the other pictures and I thought - that's got to be the best one! 6 is edgy and unique - I love that one just as much! I guess it really depends on what look you're going for!!! They both make you look bangin!
  24. Well, I agree with everyone about the Galina dress - it's gorgeous on you! I also liked #7 - it's so unique! With your two new pics - I also love #10! I ended up buying two dresses - lol. It can be frustrating to find the right dress. Remember you can always take a break and think about it, and then go back later and try the dresses you've thought more about back on. When I was shopping for my dress - I was torn between two dresses. Everyone I brought with me really liked this one tiered dress, but I ended up going with the other one of the two. You'll get a feeling about it! And you should be proud of yourself for quitting smoking!!! That is a huge accomplishment and think of how much healthier you are now!
  25. I did the french manicure on both my fingers and toes - I got it done the morning of the wedding. Amazingly, my toes STILL look awesome - my fingers...not so much. At least they waited to chip until the day after! I've seen the I Do toes too and I really like them. I seriously considered getting them, but decided to just stick with plain! I liked the way it looked at the woman at the salon had a bit of a hard time getting my french done - she said my toes were so tiny! LOL...I don't really think so!
