I had actually sent my date request for april 15, 2010 but then my TA had gotten back to me and the packages she had were departing April 16th! Who really wants to leave the day after the wedding!! So I had to change my date and they had no problem what so ever! I of course have to book by mid april to confirm it! So far all my communication with the Riu has been pretty good!

Hey there Sam! We are also booking for ROR for april. We submitted our date last week for the resort. We have been working with a TA that is based out of Canada since a lot of our guests were from there. She had emailed me today with the prices and they were a little bit more expensive then I had anticipated! We had planned for April 15th 2010 but prices for the following week were about $300-400 cheaper! So now we have to change our date! Our TA says that she can handle the accomodations for those in the US but as for the flights to JA it's up to them. We are sending out letters to all our guests giving them the option so we'll see how it goes!

Oh ok that sounds good! It kinda makes it a little challenging since there are guests coming from Canada and the US. The reason we had chosen to have a TA is that a lot of people were asking for payment plans. But thanks for your input!

So we have been planning for a wedding date of April 15 2010 at the Riu in Ocho Rios. I have just heard from my TA in Vancouver that prices for that week is about $400 more then the week after!! So now it looks like that we have to change our dates since we really don't want our guests to pay that much more! We might have to change it now to April 20/10 which kinda has a better ring to it. I found a TA who is wonderful but the prices seem a little high. I have a lot of guests from Edmonton and vancouver and prices are all over $2000 CDN a person! Im sure that prices for my guests in the States won't be that much though. Have any of you just had your guests kinda book on their own and how did that work out for you and the guests? It kinda seems that prices on the travel websites are way cheaper when I search for the dates in 2009... What do you ladies think??

So ladies, I have emailed the lady that sends us the confirmation codes and such and explained to her the situation. She has extended mine until April instead of the 30 days alloted for most. So we're good for a little bit!

Surprisingly I got my approval of my submisson today! But the info that we have to fill out to get our date for sure asks what days we have booked and what TA we used. I haven't booked yet! My TA says that she has requested information and such but because it is still so far in advance there are no dates as of yet. Are any of you running into the same problem?

Hey there ladies! I just got an email confirming my submission and they sent me my confirmation code and all. On page four though it asks what days we have booked and through what TA. I haven't booked yet! There are still no dates for that far in advance and my TA says that she is hearing the same thing on her end! If I don't do anything I guess my date is given up after 30 days! Are you ladies running into the same thing?

Im not sure but I hope that we can! The only extra that i had put was the open bar! LOL! I'm sure that we are going to pick a few more extras. I have read a lot about other brides picking the free package but I wanted all my guests to be fed! What packages did you all pick?

This is awesome! I was just out having dinner with my girlfriends and there were asking what the hold up was. Then I came home and just happened to check and there they were! This is great! I put in my date for april 15th! Which package did you pick?

Isn't this frustrating! We would like our date for April 15 2010 but since the Riu Ocho Rios has no wedding packages till March we really can't do much in terms of confirmation on the date! I have my designs for my STD ready but need the ok from the resort before I order them. Its a little frustrating too because a lot of my guests are asking for prices on packages already. Im just hoping and crossing my fingers that packages will be out march!
