Waxing...to me, it's a godsend! I have been waxing for many years now, specifically Brazilians. I'm not going to lie. It HURTS! I still haven't gotten used to it to be honest. I find though, that taking a pain killer (like Tylenol) half an hour before the procedure, it doesn't hurt as much! With that being said, I would still recommend getting it! No worries while your on your wedding vacation! Not to mention that your groom will probably LOVE it ... About the upper lip...unless your growing dark hair in that area, I wouldn't recommend doing it. I did mine a few years back and now have to get it done every few weeks because some of the blond hairs grew back in black! I'm turning to electrolysis for that in the near future but it's expensive!

Hello fellow Oct/Nov 2009 Brides! What a great post! I am getting married October 27/09 at the Melia Caribe Tropical in Punta Cana. I have the trip booked (deposits down), a block of 15 rooms set aside for guests, DIY travel brochure invite sent, wedding website up and running and the photographer booked! I am in the process of looking at at home reception venues for November of 2009. No dress yet...but I soon as I find "the one", it will be one last thing to do! I'm not sure what else I should be doing at this point? I feel like I SHOULD be planning other things...any advice

Hmmm...seems like this is a common occurence. I too had trouble with a TA. She said she would get back to me with quotes for resorts, it took her almost 3 weeks to do so. When I told her that the prices were too high...she shrugged her shoulders and told me "that's the way it is". I explained that I was not really interested in free weddings and that I wanted it private...she told me that I was being silly and pushed me even harder to go to resorts with free wedding packages. Fortunately, for me...this was before I put any $$$ down. I changed TA's and things have been pretty good...so far. My suggestion would be this....if your TA is ignoring your phone calls etc, just go right to the agency so that you can't be put off. Also, have you tried talking to her and tell her how you are feeling? I bet if you "hinted" at the fact that you may have to take your business elsewhere, things may change for the better. I agree with all the other brides too...if you aren't happy, speak with the management. The last thing they will want is to lose commission on a group booking OR have you pass along to others the shoddy service they provide. Word of mouth is paramount! Hope things go better for you! Hang in there.

I heard...I checked in at D's Dominican. This is horrible. I have emailed the WC's there as soon as I heard the news. I am looking into who we can contact. My TA has a contact here in Ontario with Sol Melia Resorts. I will be calling her first thing tomorrow and have her help me find out what we can do!!! I'm assuming if we all stand strong and let them know that we won't put up with it then things will change. I wonder if they are only banning local photogs? What about the brides who have professionals travelling with them They're guests of the resort aren't they? Anyway, if I find anything out I will let you know.

Hi everyone! I have read most of the posts on this thread and you all have helped with making my decision a little bit easier. Unfortunately I do not have enough points as of yet to get some of the attachments or to PM anyone with questions. I originally wanted to have my wedding at the Paradisus Punta Cana but am appalled by how much my guests would have to pay to stay there! My TA gave me her choices; Dreams Punta Cana and Ocean Blue/Sand. I did a little research and found EdenH and have fallen in love with the pictures! I can't seem to find a way to get in touch with the WC at EdenH. I tried a couple of the email addresses on this forum but it's been about a week and I want to check out their packages and prices for Nov 2009 before going ahead with a group booking. It's kind of frustrating because all of the other resorts I have emailed have gotten back to me within a few days and I am worried that this is what I will experience if I decide on EdenH. My order of preference for resorts is: EdenH Dreams Punta Cana RIU Palace Ocean Sand/Blue Any help would be great girls! I am getting desperate!

Totally obsessed! I bought the first one at the airport in Toronto...finished it by the time my flight landed in Honolulu...and bought and read the last three books while on vacation! I couldn't put them down! One of the best love stories I have ever read...I'm sad that the story has ended...the book that I am reading now seriously pales in comparison! *sigh*

My FI and I met online on (of all places) Hot or Not! Haha...I still find it funny. Anyway, he lived 3000 miles from me but we became great friends and e-pals...I used to race home from work just to see what humorous email he send that day. The time came when he told me that he was coming home for Christmas to see his parents and asked if we could meet...I was a little skeptical at first but agreed to meet for coffee. We were inseparable for the next 2 weeks. We were in a long distance relationship for about a year and then he told me that he couldn't live without me everyday so he moved back home. 4 years later and a proposal and here we are!

I just finished reading this whole thread and my heart goes out to you. I was in almost the exact situation 9 years ago...with the exception that I had just gotten married. Let me tell you from experience; it's hard...but it will get easier with time and you WILL get through this. Stay strong. My thoughts are with you.

Hello all! My name is Jenny and my Fiancee is Matthew. We just got engaged last Tuesday in Hawaii! I am sad to be home but am happy to start my wedding planning!
