I can see how a long engagment sucks. as I am in one, well at least the begining stages of it.. We have been dating unofficially since late 2004/2005 and according to him it was official in 2006. We have been engaged since Sept. 10, 2008, and the wedding isn't until June 2010, and thats only because we were concerned with the weather in September for Mexico. We orginally planned for Sept 25, 2010. If up to FI, there would be no wedding, elope at courthouse, and take a cruise afterwards.

Welcome aboard Jcoop! So today was not a good day at all.. family wants to crash honeymoon.. OMG.. So what did I do.. I work it out.. yay! me. I did an exta 45 min of Boxing today.. and I so wanted to stop and get some green tea ice cream. so hopefully it paid when I weigh next week.. Keep up the good work ladies..

Okay, so here might be a weird one.. I am having more people planning on coming to the wedding than I originally expected. Call me cheap or what have, but I honestly didn't plan on some of these people wanting to even come.. so here is my quesiton.. For the cost of reception, do you have to pay for up front, like before you get to dreams, or is this something that the WC discusses with you. Also, are you allow to have a different number of guest at the reception than the wedding.. (55 at the wedding, but 35 at the reception).

Okay.. I here is my rant, vent tirade etc.. But I was just pissed the f&*! off today by my family. I mean I love them and all but damn.. so here goes. FI and I are getting married in Mexico, we only want "close" and "immediate" family and friends to attend (this should have been easy esp. since I am the black sheep). So my father has informed me that everyone in the family is so excited and already making arrangment to attend, now keep in mind, we have not sent out any info (save the date,invite,ect). This afternoon, my Aunt, whom I haven't spoken with in 3 yrs decides to call me an say that her plus the other 4 "matriots" of the family have contact the resort (thanks to my dad) to get rates and plan to stay for two flipping weeks. Then she later tells me that they plan on staying from tues to tues (2wks), but I was like WTF.. thats our honeymoon..Why? I dont want to see you guys during my honeymoon.. Now, I understand that some people are making it there vacation, but dang.. I mean I am going to JA for a friends wedding, and staying a 5 nights, but I am in no way going to be at the resort during my friends Honeymoon, ending the trip the sunday after the wedding. For those who have already gotten married, or close to being married, has this happend to you? and how did you handle it? Is it rude to say, I would prefer you to travel during the June XX and end your trip no later than the Monday after the wedding. I mean we could stay another resort afterwards, but I jut saying.. I hope I am not being a bridezilla, but just wondering if anyone had encountered this.. and how you handled it. After taking my deep breath I feel much better.. thanks guys

I am having the hardest time deciding. I have read in previous post that some have recieved room upgrades, but is this standard? Is the room choice really this important? Is there a difference between a travel agent and a travel company like elite, or liberty? Do they offer the same services? Has anyone used either Elite or another company, if so, where you satisfied? From reading on the site, I know that I need to work with someone.. just wondering if they are the same.. Again, thanks ladies..

We too are going to get legally married here in Virginia. The plan is to get married on a year before the DW so that we only have one remember one date.. But we are going to JA for a friends wedding after our legal day. When I spoke with the TA she said that its Okay to get married 1yr before, we would still quality for all the wedding packages, since we are having a wedding at the resort.

we have been together for 5 years.. but dated for only four of those years.. for two semesters we never had an official title..lol.. but when we get married, that will make 5 yrs total..

Hello ladies!, My name J and I got engaged Sept 13 2008. My FH and I are both from St. Louis, but currently living in the DC metro area.
