  1. You have a valid reason for not getting married right away, and I truly believe your being considerate of others. Do what you want to do and don't let others change your mind.
  2. I think your on the right track, A bbq with good food will always go over well with your guest.
  3. I've had the same problem lately with Nayeli, I truly think its just due to them being short staffed. I try to keep my emails to her to once a month in order to not bog her down. Now when I do send an email I ask about 15 questions at one time. But im with you Jen the response time now sucks, a week,a week and a half. I do know how much work they have her doing but I think shes just overwhelmed.
  4. Honestly, If your brother expressed his disappointment and you truely feel he's disappointed you need to find someway to incorporate him so that he is not an after thought. I'm strugging with a simular situation with my only brother who is not currently in the wedding. For me in the long run its easier just to add him in (and have a wedding party of 4men and 3women) Think about his feeling too and how long you will have to deal with the backlash of keeping him out. I know he may throw your numbers off but in the long run it might just be better to bite the bullet and be off. Have your maid of honor walk back down the aisle with two groomsmen.
  5. Dana, thanks so much for posting your review of the resort. Im so happy everything worked out well for you and your husband. all of your pictures look amazing, and I love the back of your dress. Congrats Again Dana Lauren
  6. Thanks for your post Jen the centerpiece question is one I needed answered as well. Lauren
  7. I think the bar is just included as a part of your all-inclusive. Just an assumption but I think its a safe bet.
  8. A family friend got married in Mexico in January and her only complaint about the Nu Bra is that it wouldnt stick once she began to sweat. Actually the brides and 2 bridesmaids bra's peels off before the wedding was over, so by the reception they all were braless. If you can get it sewn in do that! Lauren
  9. I searched for a thread for parents gifts and was unable to find what I was looking for in previous threads. So I figured I'd start fresh with my own thread. My parents are paying for the majority of our wedding. I want to give them a gift with meaning not an engraved pen, or an personalized bath robe. What are you giving your parents as a gift? All suggestions wll help. Lauren
  10. Personally, I think its cute! Remember your getting married on the beach for heavens sake! Get what you want.

Only our parents are staying on the resort...everyone else chose to stay off property. Do you guys remember any cool places to go in Cancun where I can do like a "welcome gathering". Not something too fancy just a cool place to have drinks, eat appetizers, and give out the OOT bags?? I don't want to spend a lot either. It would have been so much easier if we were all at the same resort but oh well. I would love any advice!! ~M I stayed at an all-inclusive resort when I visited so I didn't do much off property eating but one place that was fun and reasonably priced was Pat O' Briens- it was the home of the hurricane, and everything as far as appetizers were reasonably priced ($9.00-$12.00 US)which is decent for outside of the US. There appetizers consisted of American favorites like potato skins, cheese sticks, onion rings, and wings. We went over on a Thursday and they had a live band mixed with DJ music, you could sit indoors or out and all your drinks are brought to you balanced on your waiters head. All and all it had a good atmosphere. Its right next to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Just remember Cancun is a $60.00 taxi ride roundtrip for your from Excellence! http://http://www.patobriens.com/pat...un/default.asp Hope this helps! Lauren
  12. Welcome to the forum, you will surely find all that you need on the Forum!
  13. Jen, I don't know if the resort excepts early shipments, i'm already prepared to pay and extra baggage fee. But, if you find out do post it because i'm intrested to know myself.
  14. I was wondering has anyone used Disco Movil? I am considering using him for my upcoming wedding, would like some feedback from someone who has used him previously. Please let me know if you have used him and if you were satistified. Lauren
  15. All I really wanted were some $3.00 to $4.00 pocket fold invitations. I could not find what I wanted anywhere for the price I was willing to pay so I decided to try my hand at the pocket fold invites that are partially purchased/DIY. I first purchased the invites from ACMoore as print your own. $40.00 a box for 25 invites. I actually found them cheaper online direct from Garner studios website for $20.00 a box for 25 invites. I added envelope liners from enveloperinc.com and starfish from oriental trading for a total of about 1.25 per invite, and about 15 hours of time working on putting them all together. Overall I’m totally pleased.

I was a little dissapointed to find out that the floral arch is not included in the package. I don't feel as if I should have to pay $500 for that.... I have an I-motion ipod dock and I love it. The sound is wonderful so also look at thoses as well if your looking for good sound. I actully contacted DJ Movil to use as an outside vendor. I got his song list and he seems to have a nice amount of music, hes only $550 for 4 to 5hours. I do have to pay $100 for him as a guest pass but I think its worth it considering the other dj was $1200. I've found that most places dont include the floral arch for the beach ceremony unfortunatly. Are you stuck on the floral arch because maybe after looking thru some of the other threads you can find something else that looks nice.
  17. Jen, I can post a link to the update price list for you! I emailed her about it and she was like previously the DJ as inhouse and she got many complaints so they hired, and outside vender and thats the reason for the increase. Lauren 04_Price_List.pdf
  18. Has anyone else gotten the updated 2009 pricelist for additional services. I was really taken back by the increased cost for a DJ it went from $750-$1200
