  1. Very beautiful pictures! I love the ones taken with fish eye lens - I'm so going to ask my photog to bring his fish eye lens! We'll also use Mike for the video ... pls pls share your video with us!!
  2. We didn´t meet online, but we got reconnected on FB! FI and I were exchange students in Canada 8 years ago. We were very good friends but we both dated someone else back then. Then we got back to our own country, and kept in touch on and off by emails. About 4 years ago, we didn´t write to each other any more cuz he changed his email address or sth. Then a year ago, we found each other on FB, and the magic happened! I vistied him in Mexico for 2 weeks, and then came back home with the engagement ring!!!
  3. Our party is a bit bigger, about 70 - 75ppl. We have 1 hour between the ceremony and the dinner, and we'll be taking photos the two of us. To entertain the guests, we'll do a cocktail reception where they relax, grab some drinks, view a photo slideshow of some pre-wedding photos we took, and sign the guestbook.
  4. Soooo super cute! Are you going to tell the story when you cut the cake?
  5. We are not doing it simply because our catholic wedding will last for an hour, and it already has many "ceremonies" in it: exchanging rings, receiving arrhaes from FI, receiving bible, rosarios and lasso from bridesmaids / bestmen, offering a bouquet to Virgin Mary, etc. But it'll be nice for a civil wedding: make the magic moment longer and more personalized! So do they sell tinted sand in Cancun? It's kind of silly to bring the sand over from hometown, isn't it?
  6. oh .. checking other's emails... I did it ONCE too, and that was enoug tough. I checked my ex's email cuz I smelled something; and I found that he cheated on me ... it was so hurtful to see that he wrote exactly the same thing to this girl as to me. Needless to say, we broke up. If I were you Josie, I'd just stop seeing / talking to her. I probably won't pick an arguement but she's not the kind of friend I want!
  7. Marco has custom-made his suit, but the tie and the waistcoat is light blue. He looks great ... but do you think it's a bit too formal for Cancun?
  8. Thanks for sharing! I was a bit worried about my long veil (~3m).
  9. I'm keeping my fingers crossed too!!! Do you have a backup venue just in case?
  10. Correction, it should be $800. I'm bad in exchange rates..
  11. We are having one, but my FI constantly grumps about the high price (almost 3 times more expensive than the photog) ... well, he was the one who picked the videographer, who's supposed to be very good. We pay like $1300 for 1.5 hrs on video ... it'd better turn out amazing!!!
  12. Wow .. that's real pretty! I like the details, not too much, just right!
  13. I second! It's a long wedding planning process, so if you're not happy to work with the WC, it's gonna be frustrating. B/W, you pay for great service too, not just the package!
  14. Go for it! It's $200 for the next 50 years to come ... just 40 bugs a year! I paid my photog for about $500 for the whole day (well, before the ceremony till end of the dinner reception), and I get 50 selected photos in hard-copy and a disk with all photos.

  16. We did a retreat, which was somehow "obligatory" for Catholics. There were lots of "counseling" from 3 married couples, but we didn't talk to them / strangers our problems or stance. We talked to each other on every single aspect of a married life. It was great help (to my suprise too ... I was kind of skeptical in the beginning), and we felt like closer than ever. I think everyone should do it. How's the pre-marital counseling you have in mind?
  17. Very pretty photos! I especially like the 2 little girls' dresses! Congratulations! PS. Me too another Soon to be Mrs. Gomez. =)
  18. Speaking of Catholic wedding, it has been the major task to prepare for the whole year! I wasn't a Catholic before (though I was educated in catholic schools all my life); so in order to marry my Catholic FI and have the beautiful Catholic ceremony, I had to take intensive bible classes for 9 months in Hong Kong, then get baptised / confirmation / 1st communion in Mexico during this Easter. Then paperwork and paperwork, which was well taken care by my future mother-in-law. We're getting married in the Gazebo of Casa Magna Marriott in Cancun. They claim that this is the only offsite place authorized by the Parish until end of June this year. Marriott is trying to renew the agreement, but it seems that the Parish inclines not to ... so probably we'll become the last couple getting married by the Catholic Church in this beautiful gazebo..
  19. Wow ...I don't think I can spend a fortune on this after all the wedding expenses ... I don't have acne problem, but I have a few freckles on my cheeks. Well, I am taking collegen powder every day, so hopefully my skin will look nicer in a month!
  20. I totally get how you feel Crystal! I have some friends who self-invited themselves to the wedding or invited other friends on my behalf!!! They only heard that I was getting married in Cancun (from me, or from my friends), then said, "oh sure! I´m coming!!" I mean, what the hell?? Like you said, I only want families and close friends there! Not some "hi and bye" friends or friend's bf whom I don't even know!
  21. I'm glad you liked it Jess! We also had our retreat some months ago in Mexico, and there were only a total of 6 couples. It was very intense, super emotional (lots of tears), helpful and beautiful (like singing love songs with neat lyrics, praying for each other in the dark with candles lit, parents coming to congrat us at the end as a surprise, etc). We got to discuss about many things that we haven't even thought about (like the priority of where your money will go to). At the end, we got to know each other much better, and all of the couples made it! I mean, even if some couples couldn't make it, it just means that they realise their problems and need more time. It's better to realise it before rather than after the wedding! I agree with you! I think everyone should do it, Catholic or not! Oh, I love this saying on the booklet: Wedding is for a day, Marriage is for a life.
  22. Incredible! I could feel the joy of you big day! Your hubby and his bestmen look like Il Divo... some of the photos can make an album cover, hehe!
  23. Yeah! I uploaded my picture finally! Is the big picture under the post message ¨Signature¨? If so, again, it doesn´t show up.. :l
