  1. I had a similar experience at Blush and ALSO tell everyone I know NOT to go there. Sadly, they were the ONLY store that carried my dress locally so I ahd to buy from them, but let's just say they made the WHOLE process a nightmare, and not at all like a "Say Yes To The Dress" episode:-) The saleswoman there also yelled at my mother. Not cool.
  2. If the photographers are staying at the resort, then you don't, or shouldn't have to, pay the vendor fee. For all the hotel knows, they're friends of yours, guests of the wedding, and they're also taking pictures. In fact, I wouldn't even bother telling Cecilia they're photographers...that's when they might try to nickel and dime you:-)
  3. Hey ladies, There's a Groupon deal out of Vancouver today for Photobook Canada (which is one of the companies that got a good rating in the review I posted:-)) Deal is $39 for $115 at Photobook Canada. For some reason my computer isn't letting me copy and paste the link... I know Groupon.com is usually city-specific, but since this is an online order, maybe it doesn't matter? (i..e you could just go to the Vancouver deals and still purchase?) It's a great deal if you're looking to print a book! Simi
  4. Oh, and maybe post if you take it, that way everyone knows if it's gone or not:-)
  5. Hey ladies, Got this offer in my email, but I have no need to make a book right now. 6. Oooooh, Carly! I was SO happy for you when I read you got a BFP! Is it a for-sure thing it won't last...? I guess..it kind of sounded like it... If I could reach through the computer and give you a hug I would. I won't try to come up with any positives on this as I'm pretty sure that's the last thing you'd want to hear. Sounds like you need a big fat vacation. As for my progress...I didn't ovulate this month! Weird... A friend told me she thinks my big period last month was actually a miscarriage and so maybe that's why I didn't ovulate this month...not sure if that's right, but I guess it makes sense... Sooo...hoping that next month I ovulate and we can try again:-) If there's ANYTHING I could do to help, please let me know..I know there probably isn't, but the offer's out there:-)
  7. Hey there! Just thought I'd weigh in with my experience... I tried about three different kinds of prenatal vitamins and they ALL made me feel nauseous... Well, actually, there was one kind that you're supposed to take three times a day that seemed to be okay, but like I'm going to freaking remember to take it three times a day...plus time it with food (I barely have time to pe at work, let alone find time for a couple meals, lol:-)) So my doctor told me to just get a folic acid vitamin/supplement, so that's what I've been doing...easy-peasy once a day and I don't feel sick:-)
  8. Wow, sorry for some reason I wasn't getting the updates emailed to me so just saw this! I can't believe how hard it can be either (not for us (yet!)...for the MANY couples I've heard from who have had so much difficulty conceiving...) We spend much of our lives trying to NOT get pregnant and then bam, we want to and I think our bodies get us back or something, lol:-) How did you appt go...? Any other glimmer of hope offered...? We're in the midst of third time trying... A couple weeks ago when AF came though, it was a BIG one..as in, a tidal wave...at work...it wasn't pretty...let's just say it was a VERY good thing I was wearing black pants that day:-) Yikes. So, not sure what went on there... We're not doing anything other than tracking my ovulation and timed intercourse... I'm thinking we'll wait til the six-month mark of trying and then look into other options...I'm over 35 so after 6 months of unsuccessful trying, that's when they refer you to a specialist (at least where I live:-)) As for whether my cycles are consistent...no way! I don't think they ever have been:-) I'm on day 20 right now and I still haven't ovulated, though according to the FM I'm at "high" fertility, so it's coming I guess:-) I'll tell ya though...peeing on a stick get's pretty frickin' old, pretty frickin' fast:-) Hope you're doing well?;-)
  9. Just awful, awful news. My thoughts are with those affected... And if any of them do happen to be BDW members, I'm sure we can all come together and offer support...
  10. Hey Carly! I just wanted to check in and see how you're doing??? We're about to go into month three of trying...(well, I'm pretty sure we are...I feel the signs of AF coming, so guess round two wasn't successful either:-)) But wanted to make sure you're doing okay?;-)
  11. Hey there! Sorry for the late reply The band was great...btu they don't play salsa, which is I think what you're looking for...? (actually, *maybe* they play salsa...we didn't ask for that type of music...but maybe they do?) Maybe try emailing those email addresses I posted before and ask...of course, those email addresses were from a LONG time ago, so hopefully they still work!:-) Good luck!
  12. Sorry, it's page 18 of the thread, not the last page...post #175 or close to that:-)
  13. I'm SO sorry to hear this! If you follow the link below, in my siggy, that says "My Photographer Review"...and go to the last page, I posted all the email addresses I had for them/Michael Maurus... *might* be worth a mass email to all of them to see if ANYONE responds! Good luck...and keep us posted...
  14. Hey Tammy! I didn't order my album through Michael/CWP...(I mean, my package came with one small crappy one that I got)...but my actual NICE album that I'd show people, I designed myself (on Fotofusion) after getting LOTS of help from BDWers with photoshop for the crappy pictures...and ordered through a company that sells flushmounts to consumers:-) (link to some pics of it is in my siggy:-)) There's another girl on here however, who posted just yesterday on a thread someone started about staying away from Cancun Wedding Photography... She has NOT received her album...or her pictures I don't think... And I think there are a few other girls who didn't receive their pictures...GAH!!! That man is evil. So, sounds like he/the company have only gotten worse...kind of surprised they're sill in business after all the posts I've read about couples not getting the pictures they paid for...
  15. Fingers are crossed!:-) So jealous...where I am, we're having a torrential downpour right now and I could do with some sun, a pool, and several poolside fruity drinks:-) Hope everything goes well and hope you have a FABULOUS day! Am also eagerly awaiting pics, lol:-)
  16. I think jeans are fine as long as they're not ripped and "old" looking... Nice jeans shouldn't be a problem... And I think if guys wear jeans with a nice shirt, not a t-shirt, then it's fine...
  17. If your travel agent doesn't mind, then I say why not?;-) There's no harm in I don't think AND it could get the ball rolling BEFORE you arrive... That said, even if your TA does contact Cecilia about it prior, STILL nag Cecilia!:-)
  18. I LOVED Bisou Bridal! The girls there are very helpful and not pushy at all! Plus they have some gorgeous gowns:-) I would have bought my dress from there, but they didn't carry the designer or dress I ended up going with... Which leads me to where I did end up going, which was Blush in West Vancouver. The *ONLY* reason I went there was b/c they carried the dress I wanted. The sales people were RUDE and not to mention pushy... One of them actually got mad at my mother for sugggesting a dress for me to try on! Then, when I made an appt for my alterations, I drove ALL the way to West Van on a day when I was really busy, and the alterations lady had just left. They forgot to book her for my appointment. I was pretty pissed and they weren't at all apologetic. My advice is, if you don't HAVE to go there (i.e. they're the only ones to carry the dress you want) steer clear! :-) Aside from Bisou Bridal, I also had a good experience at Bridal Gallery in New West. But I think it depends on your consultant. The girl I had was very good, but I've heard mixed reviews from other brides who have been there. I second Bello... my friend got her dress there and had no complaints! Good luck!
  19. Oh, yeah - I think almost everybody's who's tried this has had issues! We asked Cecilia about five times and she never followed up or came through. I think Kits55 tried too, to no avail. I think one or two of the brides on here did succeeed, but they had to REALLY keep on Cecilia about it! So, if you REALLY want it, I'd start nagging her the second you arrive:-) I'm actually not even sure why they offer it since it's such a hassle to actually get them to honor it... That said, Cecilia has been known to do it for some brides...but like I said, my understanding is, they had to really harp about it:-) On another note -- wow -- so close! Good luck -- hope the weather's nice! And congrats!! Hope you have anamazing trip:-)
  20. Hey there! Yeah, I know -- $300 OUCH. BUT, depending on what size album you want, you can probably get away with the middle level one (Enhanced? can't remember off the top of my head what it's called...) That one's about $115 I think... The main two reasons I sprang for the Extreme version was 1. you can do 12 x 12 panoramic spreads with it (the biggest the Enhanced version will do is 10x10) and 2. you can see all the pages you're working on... (in Enhanced and the basic version, you have to save each page separately...in Extreme you can do mulit-page albums...) So, all that said, if you're doing an album that's, say 10x10, AND you don't mind working on each spread/page separately, then you can totally get away with the Enhanced version. (I also rationlized the cost to myself that I would use it for other albms, like vacations etc :-)) Okay, now as to viewing your layout or pic...I'm not sure what you mean by "zero point"...? First...are you working on a double-page spread/panoramic page? Do you mean the line down the middle...? Also, when you say there are dotted lines that cut off the picture, do you mean the dotted lines around the perimeter of the page...? If that IS what you mean, those lines show you where the picture will be cut off when it's printed on the page... I'm struggling to remember all the right terminology, but basically I think that's what's called a "bleed zone"... Basically, when your page prints, pretty much every printer/album company will print it not EXACTLY the size it's supposed to be...so, for example, if you order 10x10 page spreads, they may be one or two millimetres short of 10x10. That dotted line just shows you where to keep your picture inside to be safe and not have anything cut-off. HOWEVER, if you want the picture to go to the very ends of the page, almost looking like it's going off the page, then it doesn't really matter...just don't put anything "important" in the picture at the very edge... like a face etc. Sorry, if this sounds confusing! Let me know what you mean by "zero point" and where the dotted lines are (do you just mean the dotted lines that make up the picture "frame" ?)so I can be sure I know what you're referencing... Then I'll try to post pics of different page spreads to show you what I mean:-) I feel like I just made this sound difficult - but I promise it's not! I think pictrues will help:-) Cheers!
  21. Oh, and in case anyone wants an airbursh tan beforehand, there's a deal for that today too! :-) http://www.groupon.com/deals/spa-utopia-and-salon-vancouver?utm_campaign=spa-utopia-and-salon-vancouver&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter&c=title&[email protected]
  22. Hey ladies, This groupon-type deal is for Vancouver, and just thought if there are any Vancouver B2B's out there, this seemed like a good deal! I think you have to buy it by midnight tonight (Oct. 14)... http://livingsocial.com/deals/9008-boudoir-photo-session-75?ref=VANDeal101410_57email Cheers!
  23. congratulations! thanks for posting a review...I know it helps all those b2b's out there!:-)
  24. Gorgeous pics ReeRee! We didn't get any pics there either (given what a jackass our photographer was, there was no way we were going to be able to drag him there, lol:-)) But it does make for beautiful shots:-)
