Yeah for Trish and Brooke! I am glad that everything worked out for you. One of my guests are still wondering if we are going to be able to have a Welcome Pool Party as originally planned. I was thinking--Really? This is what you are worried about? Those are just details. Okay, the real question for you Trish is ...how was the food? Tell me everything about the apps, salad, soup....( I adore and live for food!) Did they also offer a Surf N Turf? You all must be so relieved that you got through it! I can't even concentrate at work!

Hello all! So, I am another one of those displaced DT brides going to PRC. Not that I'm complaining, I heard it's fabulous. The one question I have is....is anyone getting married on 10/27/08...or is there some other thread I should go to that show all wedding days? Thanks!

Just sent this email to Mel and thought you would like to know as well..... Okay, so just got off the phone with Landy. We are moving to the Paradisus (closer to my family that is staying at Playa Del Carmen). She said she will just take the list of guests that I gave her and look up their reservations. She will see any special requests or accomodations that the guests have already communicated with DT about. She will move them into rooms at the Paradisus. She mentioned to contact the TA about the transfers since obviously we will no longer be staying at DT. She also said the food would be different but we can arrange all of that when we get there...(I'm not worried about food and flowers and stuff, like I mentioned before, not planning anything over again. I'm sure everything will be good). I asked her about my concern about being put in the corner, since everything is last minute. She assured me I would not be in the way . She said they are going to try and do everything the same as originally planned and that usually PRC only books one wedding per day. I can still have my ceremony on the beach. I also requested for her to be at the resort with me. There was another gal getting married in DT on my day and she if going to DC. Landy is going to sent Lizet to her wedding and will stay with me during mine (thank goodness!) I feel tons better. They still have not heard anything about the reopening and are waiting to hear what happens just like all of us. I think that's it...it was a pretty short conversation, she was about to run over to the Barcelo Resort...I feel so bad for her! Let me know if you have other questions.... Carina I feel so much better...and we get officially married on Wednesday...Yeah!

I got the same email from Sandra. From what I heard, we are being moved to DC...my TA and I asked for a conference call for next week but have not heard back as yet.

Mel, our weddings are pretty close so let's try and keep in touch with each other for info. I have already sent an email to all my guests (30). I guess we will just take it as it comes! I am really sad that I will not get to be close to the ruins, or take my picture at The Yellow Wall. Sigh

It's all good. I am going to ask if my family members that are staying in Playa can be moved to DC for the inconvenience and hardship...Does anyone know how far Playa is from DC?

I guess I am going.....not sure yet. If they call me today, I will let you know what happens.

F- them...do what you want....just make sure the gov't does not close down your resort 3 weeks before your wedding! Sorry, super bitter but seriously...do it on your own if you have to. This is your day!

Pleasant Holidays has just contacted me to see if I would like to change resorts. Basically I would cancel everything with Dreams and start over with another place. I wanted to punch her through the phone...is she crazy? Do this all over again? I told her if we continue with DT and we end up moving, at least we would have Landy re-direct everyone over to the other resort and she would still organize everything. I also let her know that I want to stay at Paradisus if we have to change resorts and that she should work really hard to make that an option. Does anyone know what the special circumstance is for Trish and Brooke in regards to how they got PRC? I am assuming it was bc of the photographer. Well, if I do not get a solid answer by Friday, I am going to send an email to all those V.P.'s Landy, my TA , and Pleasant Holidays and demand that they move my whole wedding party and the ones staying in Playa, to PRC..... Do you think this would work?

I do not even know if I should make alternative plans or even let my guests know because we are not getting solid information. I specifically chose Dreams Tulum for the location and the non-touristy environment. Sercets is not an option for me because my neice and nephew are in the wedding. I have spent my whole year, every day, every dollar spent, every weekend planned around this wedding. I am worried about having to share space and share everything else with other weddings going on in Dreams Cancun?? Not only is this going to ruin my wedding but it will also ruin the weddings of the gals that have to make room for us in DC. I am very upset and even more that we are all getting different dates, different answers . I have spent so much time, energy, tears, and money and now I do not know where I am going to get married or what to tell my family and friends....

I think we all deserve a little more information that what we are being given. I hope I'm not overstepping the boundries of this forum but I think we should give this method a try. My heart goes out to all the girls getting married in the next few weeks I'm in! What is the next step?

So Jody, Are you starting preliminary plans for just in case or are you confident that the heavens above will end this madness by Monday? I opt for the latter.
