  1. Theresa, Thank you for the review and posting your pictures they were great!!! I am a little worried about the photographer. I am using the Resort Photographer but am now having second thoughts. I was going for a very relaxed atmosphere and wedding but I hope I am not making everything too relaxed! FYI...Landy finally responded back to me about exchanging services. Since my brother is officiating our ceremony, I was not going to need their minister service, which comes with the Ultimate Package. I asked Landy if I can exchange the minister service ($450) and get the Sound System Service for my iPod ($150) instead. She replied that they normally do not exchange services but would make the exception...score!

Brooke, If Landy can save the Tulle for a couple of weeks I would love to use it. Also, I would be happy to pay for a portion of the tulle if I am able to use it. I just saw some Tulle Chair Bows at Organza Sash. The bows end up being less than a dollar each. What were you planning on having for the gazebo? I was thinking of something similar to SunBride's ceremony. Adding that bit of tropical pink makes everything looks so good! Let me know what you think.... Carina
  3. Dang, how do I get my picture on the side, like all of you? I am still not sure how to navigate this site!
  4. That's it, I am going to Michael's this weekend! Brooke, you may have mentioned it already but what are you doing for your ceremony decor? We are Fed-Exing out Welcome Bag goodies as well. I figure it is better than trying to lug everything over on the plane. Landy said it would be okay so we'll see what happens!
  5. Hi Brooke, I know how you feel. I emailed Landy last week about exchanging services in the Ulitmate Package and she has not responded. It is hard not to get ansty when everything is right around the corner. Regarding music for the Reception...same thing. I originally asked for the Patio Terrace and she keeps sending me emails that confirm I am having my reception by the Pool. At first I was upset, but hey...I bet it will still be great either way. I want a bonfire too but now I am afraid to ask Landy about it..... Usually when she does not respond, I send the email again in Spanish and then she responds...weird! Carina
  6. Hey gals! Funny that the iPod discussion came out. I have been thinking of ditching the DJ idea and just using an iPod. I have about 35 people coming and the Dreams DJ is $150 and hour. If all he does is play the music (their DJ does not MC or make announcements), it makes sense to save the money, get an iPod going, and have a friend or relative MC the night. What do you think? Does it sound good or should I keep the DJ? Brooke, your wedding is right before mine! Good luck and I hope you have a great time....almost there! Carina
  7. Okay, I re-read the 1st page and saw that the Seaside Grill is an option in the package. I also have been using the old Wedding Guide and have already confirmed with Landy that we are using the same rates as the old guide. I think I am changing my reception from Patio Terrace to Seaside Grill. All of your stories have sold me on how wonderful it is. Did anyone ship their welcome baskets to the resort before the wedding? What did you use, Fed-Ex, UPS....Any problems?
  8. Hi ladies, Neen- Your Q&A with Landy was so helpful. I actually just sent Landy an email last week with about 4 of the questions that you posted. Since I have not heard back from her, it was good to get the answers from you. Question: I have a beach ceremony planned but did not know that there were 2 spots to choose from (did not do a pre-trip). It sounds like the Southside of the beach next to SG is the way to go. What confuses me is everyone seems to be having their reception at the Seaside Grill except I do not remember that being an option for the reception. I was told beach, patio terrace or Ballroom. Is the Seaside Grill Reception an extra charge or is this part of the package? I currently have my reception scheduled for the Patio Terrace but am now thinking of changing it to SG but am worried about extra charges. Ladies, please advise! You are the best!
  9. Hi! Question for Laura....Did you pay extra for the "trash the dress" pictures or did they do that as part of the package? Your pictures are fabulous, the one of you looking at the water....WOW I am so amazed! Thanks!
  10. Thank you for the review. I am getting married at Dreams Tulum on October 27th and this definitely helps me with the planning.... I am wondering if there is a specific location where the ceremony can be held that will not blind the couple? Good to know about the cocktail hour, I am going to ask Landy if she can set up some sort of actual bar area so guests can walk up and order drinks. It seems like a lot of people did not do an actual reception at the wedding is this so? I have about 30-40 guests coming to ours so is it a large enough crowd for a dancing reception?3. Laura, your pictures are beautiful!

    Tulum Bride!

Hi there! Finally, I figure out how to send my first message! Hello to everybody! I have really enjoyed reading all of your stories and suggestions! My name is Carina Cendejas and I am getting married on October 27, 2008 at the Dreams Resort in Tulum, Mexico. I am excited to be joining this group and I only wish I would have found you all when I first started the wedding plans! I would say my biggest stresser right now is finding a DJ. The one provided my the resort does not MC, only plays music. Not sure where to look or how to start looking for one.
