Yes, I think I dislike my dress. When I put it on I just don't feel anything, except "I look like a whale". I'm not thin, more on the thick side so I wanted a dress that held it all in and hide what needed to be hidden. Now I feel like a whale in my dress and I feel it makes me look bigger than normal. My mom bought me my dress, which I feel horrible about. One of the reasons I picked it was the price, only $150 and my mom doesn't have alot of money. She LOVED the dress so I went along, I would never admit this to my mom...wouldn't want to hurt her feelings. Here's the dress but in champagne. A few years ago I worked a wedding where they had sparklers. It was an inside event at some winery...can't remember the name. Note the couple didn't tell any of the staff working that they had sparklers, they had a family member hand them out. Well when the couple went to cut their cake, guests had lit sparklers. The sparklers became very very smokey and the whole room filled with smoke setting off the fire alarm. Everyone began to panic and running out of the place. My boss and I were on the floor crawling to the door. Fire department came and some guests just left. That's my weird story.

I agree with MarieSam, it really depends on the relationship you have with your parents. For me, I don't think I could get married without my mom present.

I think it depends on your chest size and the weight of the dress. When I wear halters it usually bothers me so I picked a sp. strapped dress. Maybe try on your dress at home and wear it for about 1 hour to see how you feel.
