I agree with Savannah and I feel your pain! I got engaged in april of 2008 and just finally found my dress. I went to 12 dress shops in calgary, edmonton, chicago, philadelphia and nyc-so I definitely looked all over. I never once had that feeling of 'THE ONE'. All the dresses were nice and i loved alot of them but there was never a THIS IS IT moment for me. I finally decided to get a dress custom made cause I knew what I wanted, and apparently it didnt exist. As luck would have it, I went to a sale the day before I was putting down my deposit on my custom made dress, and found a dress I loved that was on for a ridiculas deal (seriously, I got it for $100). I still never had the feeling so many brides talk about, but it was a beautiful dress, that i loved on me, and it was $100 so to me, that was how I decided it was my wedding dress. If that dress had been full price, I can almost guarantee I would still be hmmm'ing and haa'ing over it.. Oh, and also, I went alone and bought it on my own. I found that when I went dress shopping with family and friends, I was relying on more waht they thought than what I thought.. and in the end YOU need to be the happiest with your choice. Good luck, you will find something and dont fret if you dont have THE feeling, not all of us do!

I am totally not even a Twilight fan but after seeing the movie I fell in love with the song that 'edward' plays on the piano for bella.. its called 'bella's lullaby' by Carter Burwell. And possibly 'River flows in you' by Yiruma since we have a large wedding party and I dont know how long we need. They are both very pretty paino melodies which is perfect cause I dont want any singing/lyrics..

I haven't decided if I will do half up or all to the side. I basically never wear my hair up (or to the side) so not sure if I would look like myself if I did that look.. So.. another bride on here told me she orders all her victoria secret stuff from This domain is registered - VICTORIASSECRET.CA, but when I went to check it out it says the domain is under construction?? Does anyone else know about this website, did it change?? I did ask the girl about it and she said she had just ordered from it before her wedding (which was just last week) and it must be down for maintenance. I hope this is true cause I rarely order from there due to the high shipping and duty fees btw: I have no idea why the website comes up like that??

I say go for the sweetheart! I am bias as well b/c my neckline is sweetheart but I think its just so much more flattering and feminine! It does look pretty as is though, thats just my two cents

My MOH is my sister so Ill be treating her to something at the spa, as well as my mom and my FMIL. Other than that she will get the same as my bmaids. My FI is spending the same on his groomsman as I am on my bmaids - buying their pants (and maybe shirt) and then getting them a gift.

I did a wire transfer at the bank.. It cost me like $30 I think? I just went to the branch and they did it for me adn took it out of my bank. He said you could always use western union (is that what its called?)

Hey Lyndsey, My FI got his suit at Dillards when we were in phoenix two weeks ago. Its a tan/sand linen Perry Ellis Suit. I think it was like $70 for the pants and $165 for the jacket?! We had budgeted for $1500 but it ended up being exactly what he wanted. Maybe check there?

Hmm ok. We are getting the ultimate wedding package too, using him for the full day and also the TTD(I assume would be MAXIMUM 2 hours). So technicall I guess that means we should be paying $1000 not $200, if we get $200 off for getting the ultimate package. He said something about b/c we are getting married in high season its more. I wouldnt have thought our week was high season at all (cause its the most expensive) but what do I know. Thanks for sharing!!

I think too much thought is going into this.. Just do what you as a bride feel you can do. Everyone has a reason for spending what they do, whether its $50 or $500. Some people get married young, some old, some have people helping them pay for the wedding, others pay for themselves. Don't look so much at the 'ettiquette/tradition', look at what you personally can do. I think thats all that matters, cause in the end (like many have said) its a GIFT and it should come from the heart, not become a burden or stress.

I agree with you guys (Andi, krazyk, tdmitchell). A few of our friends who arent coming keep telling us we should have one for everyone that cant make it, but truth me told, we will have 80-90 people join us and we are not about to make those same 90 people take another weekend to come to ANOTHER reception. The most important people we want at our wedding will be with us in mexico, and the whole purpose of going away was to avoid the costs of having one at home. Seems redundant to have an AHR to me!

How on earth do you ladies come up with these things and how do you make them? Man I am so not creative and am blown away by some of the things brides on here come up with! Im all over the board with colors too, all i know is my bmaids are wearing green and I want to carry orange flowers.. but I dont want those to be the only colors (b/c they were my high school colors and thats just weird to me), and at the same time I dont want a rainbow wedding.. sigh. thanks for the inspiration, ill have to copy some of these ideas
