  1. We are having our first dance as soon as we are introduced into the reception and then will do speeches b/w courses. YOu could always do different dances b/w courses to break things up?
  2. I have been in alot of weddings and every time had to pay for a $200+ dress that I will never wear again so I made a vow to myself when I got married I would save extra money to buy my girls dresses. I am having 8 bmaids and bought all their dresses (even though they all were enraged, but i dont care). I let them pick from three styles on jcrew so they ranged from $165 to $180 each. To be fair we then bought our 7 groomsman pants and a dress shirt from banana and they were $150 each. We also spent $150 on each of them for their gifts. I would say we are defnitely not the norm but it was our personal preference to treat our nearest and dearest and make their trip down south that much affordable for them. It added a hefty amt to the budget but we just bought things in spurts so it didnt seem much all at once.
  3. Yael got bags from that seller for her bmaids as well and they were super cute
  4. Proposed a day before what would have been 3.5 years.. will be married just after 5 years of dating
  5. YAY! Hope this day is everything you ever dreamed of! Cannot wait to hear every little tiny detail!
  6. hahahahahhaahah very true billysbride! And you would think as a bride you would want your friends to look and feel their best on your wedding day, so shouldnt they get to choose how they want their hair and makeup done? Watching bridezillas the other day there was a bride who wouldnt let anyone under 200lbs in her wedding party cause then they would be skinnier than her! lol I nearly died.
  7. i have been in a lot of weddings and never had a bad experience so far. But I agree, communication is KEY. My one gf started going a little bridezilla on us so we straight up said 'woah bridezilla!' and we all just laughed it off. After paying for five $200+ dresses that I will never wear again I swore when I got married I would buy my girls dresses, so I did. And im being super low key adn not making them get their hair or make up done (unless they want and if they want they can pay for it) and they can wear whatever they want from shoes to accessories. someones got to draw the line on these girls that go ape shyte just cause its their wedding! holy mama.
  8. I like the pink on you! But then again im a fan of bright colors, esp in bathing suits! It looks fantastic on you, you can totally pull it off
  9. I would be interested! I would need about 40 of each, and probably double of the advil
  10. Agree! I would personally go with silver though to match those dresses.. I dont think turquoise and gold really go together but thats my personal opinion! in the end its not going to make a difference if their shoes fit in with the brown/turquoise theme ya know? btw, my FI and his groomsman are wearing the same as yours, minus the brown tie!

  18. ok here are my gifts for my 8 bridesmaids. We bought each girl their dress from jcrew and then we also got them a spa wrap from smarty pants boutique (Joy is AWESOME) and a lodis clutch. I got the clutches in three colors and just have to figure out which color to give which girl. FI is working on the guys gift, not sure what to get them yet.
  19. Help! Does anyone know of a good seamstress here in Calgary? I bought my dress at Evalina Couture and she recommended a lady who I took a couple other dresses too and she took FOREVER to do them and I really wasnt too impressed. So, now I dont really want to take anymore dresses to her, let alone my wedding dress. IF someone has a good seamstress in calgary, please share! TIA!!
