  1. Dear body, Remember how thin and pretty you were just 3 years ago, what happened? and Dear Ass, Why so low and saggy? You look like you are always frowning and sad? If you keep frowning the wrinkles will not go away. Get up and smile, tighten up and get ready for your wedding day.
  2. I am having the opposite problems I am begging my FI to wear a suit and the guys wear khaki's and shirt. He thinks he could wear like cargos or shorts. I can't tell if he is pushing my buttons and joking or if he is serious no way am I going to be in a wedding dress next to him in shorts

I have found this so hard to do. Every now and then I sneak one in, but I don't have the heart to tell him. Is this terribly dishonest? I also live in NY so I know how much it costs, which is another reason I thought it would be good to quit. But then again, I've been eating more for that oral fixation, and I don't think that's a good thing for getting ready to slip into a tight fitting dress. Argh! I've even thought about trying hypnotherapy. Anyone have any success with this or have recs for the NYC area? Sorry for rambling, but I totally understand where you are coming from. It's hard, but we'll feel so much better when the hard part is over! OK so it sucks right, honestly the Chantix was amazing I wish I could have finished the treatment but I get horrible migraines and the pills caused too many. For your other question of it being dishonest...if he asked you and you lie to his face yeah a little dishonest...if you don't tell him and he doesn't ask, not as dishonest Is he a smoker or x-smoker as well? If he never smoked he will never understand but I think it is great and the best gift you can give is quitting smoking. I went for my first run/jog ever today. I still wanted to die but my lungs didn't feel like they exploded. And the eating thing...we are both May brides so we have a little time one change at a time quit smoking and eat then crash diet. Good luck
  4. Ok so i just ordered 7 of them (yes I get obsessive) I still need 3 more I am running out of people to call to use there credit cards (especially ones I don't have to pay back) It let me use a credit card twice so try for 2. Not paying attention though I got to for my bridesmaid Jackie oops and I am scared to call and cancel they might figure out how many I ordered and take them away so if anyone is getting married May 30, 2009 with a bridesmaid Jackie I will totally send it to you
  5. I have had the same problem with my future mother in law...my family lives all over and no matter what will have to fly (yes there stay would be cheaper in NY) but her side does not have to travel. She is also sooo traditional and we are not. She constantly tells me this is a bad idea and her not being my mother I can't tell her to shut up and walk away like I could my own plus she only does it when the FI is not around to back me up. So my point is if this is how you picture your lives together starting out by bringing the most special people of your life together and having an intimate wedding instead of the HUGE NY wedding which always seems to be about the food, flowers, place, etc and not the joining of 2 lives, 2 families, 2 souls well F them. This is the beginning of your new lives together and whatever you want and if you have a wedding here or there everyone has their 2 cents to put in, you can not make everyone happy and on this one day it is about the 2 of you. You just have to be prepared people you want there may not be able to come but that is the risk we are all taking. did any of this make sense
  6. Ok Congrats...and so what, you need to toss the dress and buy a new one so you and the baby can fit There is no better reason to buy a (bigger) wedding dress then a baby.
  7. Honestly god forbid anything ever happened at any time but you can not live your life like that and if you think positive you will be fine. No worries and no guilt you deserve your DW EVERYTHING will be fine...My brother his wife and my niece and nephew are my life and I refused to get married without them there I am not going to lie it has crossed my mind but as quickly as it popped in the quicker I shake it out of my thoughts.

Good luck to you:) Love the sand dollar idea do you have pics posted anywhere?
  9. Ok Just reading your post makes me want to check my reg. I was constantly checking before my e-party to figure out how many gifts and how much cash I would get but I promised my friends and family I would stop after the e-party so they can surprise me with a bridal shower. I also had at Macy's a email alert that would tell me who bought what which I disabled for them as well. You already know what is on your reg and that you like it and want it so you might as well keep it as a surprise considering it will be so much more fun to be surprised when you open it. And if you don't end liking it anymore you can return and buy whatever you want you win in every way possible
  10. Great idea I have a entire jewelery box full of x stuff
  11. I think you need to give your guest something to thank them for coming all that way and spending all their money so a little something is necessary. Like above make a budget $10 - $15 dollars each to show your appreciation. There are plenty of sites you can find great gifts to add and just buy paper bags from the $1 store (some give you a discount if you buy in bulk). How many guest are you having? Oh I found cute discount favors a Unique & Personalized Wedding & Bridal Shower Favors, Baby Baptism & Communion Favors, Kids Birthday Party Favor Ideas - eFavors I got the cutest starfish wine stoppers for $1.69 which I saw double the price on other sites and they were high quality. Hope this helps
  12. Hi guys, I saw these photo albums in the airport in Jamaica and have been kicking myself for not buying them for my oot bags then (way cheaper there) but who knew. I then saw a thread that someone bought them in Canada so I started looking for them. I found them on both Amazon.com and Overtsock.com if anyone is interested. I contacted the women at Amazon (cozee world) and she said she is willing to give bulk rates and is getting back to me. If anyone is in the Long Island, NY area and wants to combine our orders for a better price or if anyone wants to contact Alefiah at cozee world click the link below... cozeeworld.com

  16. Thanks for the ideas of where to start you are totally right about the clothing it will be much harder to find summer clothing in the winter so I should get that out of the way and it will also be on sale (that's a plus). i am glad to know I am not the only one with everything done. i come on to BDW and see everyone finishing projects everyday and I guess it is getting me nervous. Plus all the projects look so time consuming and do you fit it all in? Thanks again
  17. Great idea for the veil and the BM dresses you guys are geniuses

Welcome and congrats from a future Jamaica Bride
  20. sewing is harder then it seems #1 rule you sew things right sides together first and then flip them through a small opening and hand sew that area shut. It makes your corners look neat and you can not see all the extra threads. But you know what is easier and takes less time then sewing...finding a great deal for them online
  21. Congrats... you look sooooo beautiful. Who were your bridesmaid dresses by they look similar to the ones I am looking at but nicer?
  22. Ok so my wedding is about 10 months away. I know plenty of time, right? No, I have not done anything or even know where or how to start. I have some great ideas but don't know what should come first or how to execute any of them without knowing # of guest, left over money from my wedding budget, etc...So I am writing to all of you, the all knowing queens of DW's. Where/how did you start? And I feel I am all alone in the planning my guy thinks he is too manly for this sorta stuff and it is his 2nd wedding, how did you get your FI involved (this maybe it's on thread on it's own)? Things I actually have done - FI - Date - Place - Dress

No one complained and the etiquette police didn't come after me, so I guess we are ok! LOL My future mother in law is captain of the etiquette police if you get arrested for any other reason let me know and maybe I can help get you out of etiquette jail I hear it's painful in there
