  1. Yay! Happy wedding day Mesita! I hope she is having the best time!

  3. BTW.....Yamina's boss blamed the long email response times on the swine flu. of memory serves me right, we were all complaining about response times before the swine flu!

Just a note..I was waiting about 2 weeks for a list of questions to get answered, and after i was hung up on for the third time (for an expensive call mind you) I tried this.....I got answers to 20 plus questions (along w/8 or 9 attachments) the next day.... GREAT info! I actually emailed Yamina and Nayeli's boss tonight advising them that the wedding coordinators should get their own 800 number - a 15 minute conversation can take 15 emails back and forth over a few weeks. Good to know I can call the 800 number and get transferred! I have a situation now in which the time of 5pm was recommended to me by Nayeli for my wedding and I come to find out that the sun sets at 5:07pm. Why would I want a beach wedding in the dark?!?!?! I asked to change my wedding to 4pm but they have another wedding booked at 3pm! Why on earth are they booking weddings so close together? That situation is exactly what I was trying to avoid after attending a wedding at Couples Swept Away where the wedding we went to was at 4pm and by 4:30 the resort staff was pushing us out of the way to get ready for the next wedding. Needless to say, I am MAD!

I plan on purchasing the gold package...I know some decor is included for the ceremony but I would need to know what in order to know what I have to prepare for. I planned on using the gazebo, so I dont know if I need a runner for the little foot path over the pool or not? If I change my mind and want to get married on the beach, do they provide an arch? This was a long shot question but I had to ask because it would kill me not to know..lol You know on the website it shows a young couple in the gazebo and its all decorated with lanterns, and stones..do you think they can provide that set up as part of the package? (like the extra decor they offer in the gold package) ***goodness now that Im reading this back Im thinking shes probably so irritated at the questions..shes just ignoring me..lol*** IF any of you ladies can help out with the answers I really would appreciate it. Oh one more..lol..I planned on purchasing a specific tequila as favors..I can order them online but they are pretty expensive (i want the large bottles) and I am figuring about 15-20 bottles...for those that might have done a site visit..will it be easy (and cheaper!) for me to just wait to purchase the tequila once I arrive and just prepare them at the resort with favor tags? or am I taking a risk by waiting? Thanks again! TEQUILA - if you go to Mexico a few days before the wedding, I highly suggest picking up the bottles yourself. I was going to have the resort get them for me but I do not want to pay them the mark up. I have not been to the resort but I have been to Cancun and going to Cancun or Isla Mujeres is by far a better option then to bringing them from home or buying them from EPM.
  6. Mesita - I hope you have a wonderful wedding experience that turns out to be everything you ever dreamed of. I'm sure it is disappointing that most of your guests did not rebook. You just have to think about what a great time you are going to have and how special this once in a lifetime experience is going to be. Not one guest could ever feel the same way you and your fiance are going to feel when you are up there saying your vows making lifetime promises to one another. Your wedding is the start of a wonderful marriage and life adventure with your new partner! Good luck! XOXO
  7. I got mine from Card Stock, Vellum Paper, Envelopes, Metallic Cardstock, Invitation Cards Specialty Wedding Stationery - Paperandmore.com and Handmade Specialty Papers - Wedding Envelopes, Invitations & Stationary
  8. No one is sending our RSVPs back either - although we only sent the invitations 2 weeks ago. I hope you get a better turnout than I do. I sent out an email to all the guests a couple days ago. I have not gotten any RSVPs back but a few guests did call the travel agent. *Sigh* If people do not respond by August 31st (even though I have a 6/30 RSVP date for head count) I am going to assume they are not coming.
  9. This went out today and 3 people contacted the travel agent! Thanks for the feedback!
  10. I have also booked DJ Dorremixx for our wedding on 12/12/09. I am very excited. I have had a great experience with him so far! He has been very prompt, professional and thorough!
  11. Yep - he knows - 138 pounds. In my opinion no one should be ashamed of what they weigh. Sure, I would like to weigh less but I don't. It is what it is =0)
  12. Is this better? Hola! We hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer. In case you are thinking about joining us in Cancun, we are writing out of friendly courtesy to let you know that the Orbitz sale is scheduled to end on June 18, 2009 and the Excellence Resorts sale, offering 35% off, will expire on June 30, 2009. Jennifer Prymula of Sand and Sun Vacations, our travel agent, will work with you to price match any vacation package you find on the internet and can match the resort price if you do not choose to do a lot of investigation of internet rates through Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, Cheap Caribbean, etc. We want to ensure that all who attend have the opportunity to get the best rates possible. In addition, we would like to let you know that we have recently updated the "events" page of our website jenandken2009.com to include the full description of the menu choices in case you are having a hard time deciding! If you have already RSVPed but would like to change your mind after reading the full description, just shoot one of us an email. Just a friendly reminder that passports are now required for travel into Mexico. If you are planning to come to Mexico with us, now would be a great time to make sure your passport is up to date or to get your passport if you do not have one. With the new requirements newly implemented, at times, the US Department of State can be backed up on issuing them - generally it takes 4 to 6 weeks. Passport applications can be obtained and submitted through your local Post Office. Just bring two 2 x 2 color passport photos, taken within 6 months, and a check or money order in the amount of $75 made out to the US Department of State. Detailed information on passports can be found on the US Department of State website Welcome to Travel.State.Gov Gracias! Jen and Ken
  13. Thanks for your feedback all! I love my travel agent and have been asking everyone to book through her. My main objective, though, is to get the lowest rate for my guests. I had to mention the Orbitz sale because the rates are extremely low. That is why I mentioned the price matching with Jennifer. In addition, many people have not been booking packages but have been booking directly with the resorts and the airlines to use frequent flyer miles.
  14. I just composed and sent out this email tonight to encourage my invitees, who plan to attend the wedding to book their travel. I don't think it sounded too pushy but would love to get some opinions. Let me know and gracias! Hola! We hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer. We want to ensure that all who attend have the opportunity to get the best rates possible. Also, for those of your traveling from NYC, I have also found great airfare rates out of both Newark and JFK airport in the $200 to $300 range for a non-stop flight! In addition, we would like to let you know that we have recently updated the "events" page of our website jenandken2009.com to include the full description of the menu choices in case you are having a hard time deciding! 15. Mesita, You go girl with your BD shoot. I bet you looked amazing! Your fiance is going to be stoked when he sees the pictures! I am in the same boat as Lauren - haven't gotten up the nerve to do it. Such a great gift though!
  16. I insisted on no shower as well. I am having a kick ass bachelorette party out in the Hamptons though!
  17. I am pretty sure they give you an HIV test, an RPR (which is a test for Syphilis) and do blood typing on both bride and groom.
