  1. I think it is possible. You might want to ask other brides in the area who are getting married on the day before or day after to 'share' a photographer. Alternatively, you may want to ask some traveling wedding photographers if they are booked for your weekend and if they would do it for airfaire, hotel, and a small fee. Feel free to PM me if you have any other specific questions.
  2. welcome, The folks here are really helpful! E
  3. Cuba is a fantastic place to get married. Last time I was there (in '01) we had a blast.

  5. great stuff Jill! I know what you mean about being in front of the camera
  6. Hey - FWIW, I shoot about 40 weddings a year and won't accept a shot list. Instead, I show my clients 10 or so complete weddings - 500+ pics each, before they book me. I demonstrate consistency, and lots of great candid shots. As soon as people start wanting shot lists, and acting, the photos aren't as real, and they look fake. I much prefer to put couples into situations where they can create their own moments. As for formals, I will take a short list, but realize that I do this every weekend, and I know to get the wedding party combos, family combos, and all the regular stuff. The list is only so a particular family member won't get left out. I know a ton of planning goes into making your day perfect, and if you just let your pro photographer know what is important to you, they will most likely get great pics of you! E
  7. Howdy - I'm still pretty new to this forum, but wanted to let you know that I'll be shooting a wedding at the Renaissance Aruba later this month - There will be a TON of photos from a pro's perspective - stay tuned! BTW - if there are any specific questions you have let me know and I'll be sure to get answers for you!

This is the place for ideas! Welcome!
  9. It seems like tour TA isn't able to help with this. I suggest you contact the venue directly, and ask them what days they have open for a wedding while you are there.
  10. With the TSA, one never knows. I hate to say that, but really, I've had some good agents, and some @$$-holes. I think if you are nice, and look for a "good" agent before you get in line, you will probably be OK.
  11. Howdy! The people on this forum are an amazing wealth of knowledge. Search a bit for your info, and then if you can't find it, the will totally hook you up with what you need. E
  12. Howdy from Texas (at least that is where I am right now) E
  13. From a guy's perspective: He needs to step up and tell his mom the way it is. 'nuf said. E
  14. I've heard that you should send out invitations for destination weddings at least 4 months in advance. I think that the longer guests have to reply, the better. I know that when I'm booked for a destination wedding (usually 6-8 months in advance) the very first thing I do is make travel arrangements. The more time I have to plan for travel, the better, and I'm sure it is the same for guests. E
  15. Hi - I was just wondering who checks/uses/is on Facebook? I know it sounds dorky, but I'm always looking for more friends. E
  16. Hi! Let me know if I can answer any specific questions about photographers and TTD sessions for you. E
  17. I just read how you packed everything, and I think it's incredible that you are able to get everything there yourselves! I know when I travel with my cameras, I also always carry them on, I wear the wedding outfit on the plane, and check all my other stuff. Keep the important stuff with you, and you will be ok if the worst happens! Have a great wedding. E

  20. I save everything at a level 10 (it should go to 12). this is a compromise between great quality and huge file size. If you check out my website the pics are all saved at level 10. If you have a dial-up modem it will be slow, but DSL or CABLE will load quick, and you can make the window HUGE to see the Quality.
  21. Wow, What a great slideshow. I love that one near the end of the two of you in the subway.
