  1. Hi! Well, I did find lots of different villas. However, it was difficult to find a group of villas all together, and those that did meet my criteria were often pretty expensive. We decided to go with an all inclusive--so then our guests have more options, and all inclusive drinks and food! If you're still interested in a villa, let me know, and I will try to find my research!
  2. just wondering if there are any New Yorkers on here who used an exceptional photographer for their budoir? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much! ~Maegan
  3. Is anyone adding any "extras" on? I was thinking fire dancers, but I don't know how much they would cost

I'm freaking out because I want to send my STD's in March, what if they don't have our day available?!?!?!? I guess my STD's would just say "Riviera Maya, Mexico" and not name the location, and if all else fails we'd choose a different location! But we really have our hearts set on having it at Barcelo! Is anyone else having it there in 2010? Have you been told the same thing! Thanks! Hey sandra-- I just booked my date (July 1 2010) about 3 weeks ago. I am not having mine at the palace though, I am having it at the Colonial/Tropical. I didn't have any problems, but I'm wondering if it's different with the Palace?
  5. Barcelo Maya!! We looked at 6 resorts, and decided on barcelo because. . . 1) Still has the mexican feel to it- ie: open air huts, the colors and architecture of the resort. Many of the resorts are going for that deco feel-w everything enclosed, and block buildings, and we are not fans of that style! 2) GREAT reviews 3) The best beach out of the 6 that i visited! 4). My parents have stayed there before, and just raved about it! 5) It's just beautiful!
  6. I visited about 6 resorts in late September-- My top 3(in order) were Barcelo maya, Paradisius, and Dreams Tulum. We decided to go with barcelo, because it has one of the best beaches around, and it still has that "mexican" feel to it, with the open air huts, etc. Good luck!
  7. I was there in late September of this year. Right in the midst of rainy season. Yes, it rained once almost every day, but it didn't put a damper on our time there! We still sat in the pool and enjoyed ourselves. And it would often rain for an hour or so and then stop.
  8. Hi guys! This is such a great thread! I just booked my date about 3 weeks ago-- I'm getting married on July 1st 2010!
  9. Welcome to the forum!! Costa Rica is amazing, that is where me and my fi got engaged! have you been there before? Good luck!
  10. I haven't heard that. I jsut went to visit a TA this weekend, and honestly--I'm really looking fwd to her taking care of booking everyone. It will def save us MANY headaches and stress! I also went home after and looked up prices, and they were about the same(without the group discount that they will be giving us once they get the price quote)I was also told that, being that the TA's deal with those hotels exclusively, that the hotels will give them more "free" things. Who knows, I guess we will find out! =)

  13. I just put mine "on hold" today for July of 2010. Maybe whoever you spoke to misunderstood you?
  14. Is this thread strictly for palace brides, or are we now using it for all barcelo brides? I just booked my wedding today, on the colonial/tropical side, so i'm just wondering! thanks =)
  15. Oh yea-- and does anyone have any info on the resorts photographer/s? I would love to see their work, or hear about anye xperiences people have had with their photographer. Trying to decide if i need to "sneak" one in!
  16. Thanks for the response =) Also, i just booked my date!! =) July 1st of 2010! SO excited--were you guys told that you had to book your rooms before you could start planning through email? If so, how many rooms did you have to book? I booked the ocean scents reception. Thanks!
  17. Yes, can you please elaborate on having your wedding "blessed". A few comments have been tossed our way regarding the fact that we are not getting married in a church(bc we want to be married on the beach). However, we would not be opposed to something like this. Would love to hear more. Thanks!
  18. I'm doing the ahr as well. It's def a good way to keep everyone "happy"
  19. Hey guys random question: Is it possible at all to have a religious ceremony on the beach, even if its not legal? If that was possible, I would just sign the papers here first.
