  1. So I thought i was 100% going to have my wedding in PDC, but I've been researching hotels/villas in Tulum and I absolutely love the bungalow/cabina style of the hotels there! Does anyone have any advice on hotels or villas in Tulum? I'm not looking for anything luxurious, just a place that would accomodate 35-40 ppl at a reasonable price. Thanks a lot!
  2. I've been to Xel-Ha and xcaret--we tried to book it though our hotel in Akumal, but we were told that it is much much cheaper if you just go there yourself and get a general admission ticket. Through the hotel it was 75 including transportation. By ourselves we paid 12 each, and we took a collectivo there--so maybe for transportation we paid about 5-10 dollars? The cabs outside of the hotels are a hugeeee rip off, I would suggest a bus, if that is possible for you?
  3. Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone has had their wedding at the Hemingway Eco Resort, or if they have stayed there? It's located in tulum--If not, any suggestions? Thanks

Were you wanting something fancy or simple? I was thinking more on the simple side. Not def. sure where I'm holding the wedding as of yet, but I would like to have the rehearsal dinner at a unique, simple place. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys--thought it would be a good idea to post our rehearsal dinner locations in RM here!! Maybe this could be a sticky? I've been researching locations, but nothing is more informative for me than hearing what you guys have done! Also, it would be helpful to include how many people you had, the style of food, and level of priciness =) thanks!
  7. I just saw your post and sent you a message! I too am researching tulum--the hotels are SO much different than any where else on the RM, and they are so my style =) I am also looking into Hemingway, Cabanas la conchita, Amansala, and Villa H20. I really like the Retiro Maya house and Posada Lamar, but theyw ould not be able to accomodate my 35-40 guests for the week. I look forward to hearing back from you! Hope you have an amazing trip =)

  10. Hi guys! I'm just starting to plan my wedding in Playa del carmen--we are thinking of renting a few villas for the week of the wedding for ourselves and our guests to stay in-we shoudl be having around 35-40 guests. There are a few requirements: 1) Must be on the beach or within walking distance 2) must have a pool 3) All villas must be next to each other, together, or within walking distance to each other 4) In playa del carmen or fairly closeby 5). Fairly reasonable!! =) Also, we are open to small, all inclusive resorts, but I'm a little skeptical about the resorts because I want to keep the expenses for my guests to a minimum. Any advice you guys may have is greatly appreciated!! Thanks =)
  11. Has anyone stayed at the Xaguar villas? I know they are located in Playa del carmen and can accomodate around 30 people. I was thinking about having my wedding at the villa. Thanks!
  12. Hi guys! I just started planning my 2010 wedding. =) We really want to have our wedding in a private villa on the beach in or close to playa del carmen. We are also hoping to find a few that are grouped together or very close by so that all of our guests can be together for the week. There will be 35-40 people. I'm also open to small all inclusives that are reasonably priced. Thanks so much--any advice you may have is greatly appreciated!

Do you have any information regarding the villas? Thanks
  14. Hi guys--my name is Maegan-I just got engaged in late April in Costa Rica =) My fiancee and I have been to the Riviera Maya twice, and we think it is the perfect spot to get married! We are planning on getting married in April of 2010. We are not sure of the location as of yet--but we know we definitely want to have it in or around playa del carmen. Any advice you may have is appreciated!! We were thinking of having it in a beachfront villa, and renting the villa for the week. I look forward to hearing from all of you! Thanks! ~Maegan
